4. ABSTRACT
As part of curriculum, and for the partial fulfilment of the requirementsfor
completion of B.TECH degree from Raja Balwnat Singh Engineering Technical
Campus, I VIKASH TOMAR working on a mini project .The report consistsof brief
study and description of methods, techniques, procedures used at the mini project.
The report contains my different and amazing experience in making of my mini
project. All the contentsare broadly explained and it is constructedfrom the
experience of my project.
In the opening content I have given details of the project background including its
mission. The contentsare written in such a manner which give details of the project
so that the reader can easily know and access the my project.
In the second contentI have explained my overall project familiarity in the last
time. This contentis the main content that I have recorded and it contains overall
work I have been executing.
6. INTRODUCTION
• Concrete is a composite material that contain cement, water,
coarse aggregate and fine aggregate.
• The resulting material is stone like structure which is formed by
the chemical reaction of cement and water.
• Some of the reasons are its simplicity in preparation, the easily
availability and low cost of its ingredients, and above all, the
satisfactory properties
• of its structure.
7. INTRODUCTION
• Concrete strength is much influenced by the porosity of hardened
concrete.
• Any reduction in porosity add its strength to the cement.
• Polymer concrete is a part of group of concrete that use
polymer to supplement or replace cement as a binder.
8. BENEFITS
• Fire and Heat resistance.
• It has thinner application.
• Less chalking at outdoor exposure.
• Abrasion resistance
• It has temperature stablity.
9. TYPES OF PC
There are two types of Polymer concrete:
• Polymer Impregnated Concrete
• Polymer Cement Concrete
10. POLYMER IMPREGNATED CONCRETE
• This concrete is produced by port land cement by impregnated
with monomer and subsequently polymerized in situ.
• The cement is cast and cured normally and then concrete product gets
hardened and dried , air from its voids is
removed from voids under partial vaccum and a low viscosity monomer
is diffused through the pores of the concrete. Then concrete
is finally undergoes polymerization by radiation or heat therapy.
11. POLYMER CEMENT CONCRETE
This cement is produced by integrating an emulsion of polymer or monomer
in portland cement concrete.
The ingredient consisting of cement, aggregates and monomer is mixed with
water and the monomer is polymerized after placing the concrete into forms.
This concrete can be used in marine works.
12. ADVANTAGES
• Improve workability, strength and adhesion.
• Chemical resistance, impact resistance and abrasion resistance.
• Increased permeability and reduced absorption.
