This document discusses Magellan Power's battery-less solar PV generation smoothing system. The system uses reactive and proactive smoothing techniques to reduce the intermittent variations in power output from solar PV arrays without using batteries. It works by using stereo vision and cloud classification to predict changes in solar irradiance and adjust the power output from the solar inverter proactively to provide a smoothed output to the electrical grid. The system provides generation management capabilities that can help integrate more solar power onto the grid.
