MARTY, ADAN, and FRANKIE are college graduates who travel to Tokyo to experience new virtual reality technology called "Become the Player". While there, they are tricked into playing a dangerous glitchy game called Neon Dash. In the game, a building collapses on FRANKIE, but the others work together to save him. MARTY is able to grab the trophy to defeat the game. They realize the danger and have the game removed. Ten years later, the four have started a successful company together and their most popular game is an improved version of Neon Dash.

In 2050, college graduates MARTYOWENS,ADAN SMITHand FRANKIECARTER areon a questto
experiencethe newtechnology called ‘BecomeThe Player’which is developed in Tokyo.Their
experiencedoesnot go to plan.
MARTY OWENS,the man whounderstandsvideogame developmentmore thananyone else,hasjust
graduatedfromcollege withhis twobestfriends, ADAN SMITHand FRANKIECARTER(theyall
specialiseinvideogame development).The three are gettingreadytogoto Tokyo as there isbrand
newvideogame technologycalled‘Become the Player’whichhasgainedthe mostinterestbyMARTY
as he wants to developmore of these games.All three of themflytoTokyoandbegintotry out the
gamesone at a time.Theyanalyse the 15 gamestheyplay to see whatto improve andhow theycan
adapt them. All 15 gamesare shown,10 of themare shownwhenthe three are leavingafterthey
playedthe game,the otherfive are shownwhenthe three are playingthe game.Showingfive games
createsa contrast to NeonDashas NeonDash isthe onlyunsafe game to play.Showingthe five
gamesalsocreatesa contrast as NeonDash isthe onlydark game whichforeshadows the danger.
On theirlastnighttheygo outfor a meal as a reward fortheirefforts.
On theirwayback to the hotel,theygetstoppedbya manwho wantstheirhelp.The manwhois
calledCHADLEE has got himself stuckinagame calledNeonDash. NeonDashisa game setin the
streetsof Tokyo whichare coveredinneonlights.The aimof NeonDashisto collectthe trophy
whilstbeingchasedbyaJapanese soldier,butthe playershave aneontrail behindthemmakingit
harderto hide. He tricksthe otherthree tohelp him, buthe doesnottell them thatthisversionof
NeonDashis dangerous.Afterbeingtoldhow toplaythe game andwhat doesnotwork,the four
begintoplay.The more theyplaythe game,the more MARTY, ADAN andFRANKIErealise what
dangertheyare in.The firstattemptto grab the trophy ismade by MARTY but the trophydisappears
as the game hasbecome glitchfroma loose wire inthe electrics. Aftertheyare playingforabout10
minutes,the soldierglitchesandsmashesintoabuildingwhichsendsshockwavesdownthe street,
forcinga buildingtofall onto FRANKIE.Tosave FRANKIE,CHADdistractsthe soldierwhilstMARTY
and ADAN pull FRANKIEfromthe rubble. Now thatCHADisbeingchased,the otherthree musthelp
but luckily CHADfindsapowerup and throwsit to MARTY. MARTY usesthisto become invisible
whichmeansthe soldiercannotsee him, sohe hasmore routestothe trophy.Justbefore hispower
up disablesitself,MARTYgrabs the trophieswhichstopsthe hole game andremovesthe soldier who
was inchesawayfromcatchingCHAD.
Nowtheyhad won,CHADwas free from NeonDashafterbeingstuckin there fora few months.As
theiradrenalinbecomes weaker,theyall realise how muchdangerthe game putsyouin andgo
straightto the headquarterstogetit removedbefore anyoneelsegetsstuck.Once the game was
removed, theyall gobackto theirhotel andstart talkingtoCHAD who isalsoa videogame developer
and wantsto workon real life videogames.
Skipping10 yearsintothe future,the fourmenhave createdthe biggestBecome the Player
technologycompanyinthe UK andare growingtheircompanyeveryday. Theirmostpopulargame
iscalledNeonDash.
