MODULO 1.
TO BE (PRESENT AND PAST)
El verbo To Be significa Ser o Estar y lo usaremos en las oraciones cuando necesitemos
expresar la idea de Ser o la de Estar.
Como todo verbo en Inglés , el verbo To Be tiene básicamente dos tiempos, Presente y
Pasado. Así mismo el verbo To Be se usará en todas la oraciones en donde sea necesario, a
saber: afirmativas, interrogativas y negativas.
Present Past
I am I was
You are You were
He is He was
She is She was
It is It was
We are We were
You are You were
They are They were
Para pasar de una oración afirmativa a una interrogativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la
oración, lo único que hay que hacer es intercambiar el orden de las palabras que hacen de
sujeto y verbo.
Ejemplo: Peter is a doctor ------ Is Peter a doctor?
Para pasar de una oración afirmativa a una negativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la
oración, lo único que hay que hacer es agregarle a la oración afirmativa la palabra “not”
que dá la idea de negación, significa “no” y vá después del verbo To Be.
Ejemplo: Peter is a doctor ------ Peter is not a doctor?
Para pasar de una oración interrogativa a una negativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la
oración, lo único que hay que hacer es intercambiar el orden de las palabras que hacen de
verbo y sujeto y agregarle a la oración negativa la palabra “not” que dá la idea de negación,
significa “no” y vá después del verbo To Be.
.
Ejemplo: Is Peter a doctor ------ Peter is not a doctor?

Después del verbo pueden aparecer nombres de personas, animales o cosas, a los cuales
se les denomina “objetos”.
Cuando estos objetos están precedidos de una preposición se dice que éstas, descargan su
acción sobre esa persona, animal o cosa, a las cuales se les llama “objetos” de la
preposición.
La preposición más básica para trabajar es “with” = “con”. Existen otras que traban de
manera similar: for, to, from.

María is with José in Belén at 6:00 a.m. everyday
Hasta ahora hemos sido capaces de preguntar por todos los elementos de la oración con
palabras Wh. Como son: Where, Why, (s) Who, (s) How many persons, When, What
time.
Para preguntar por un objeto precedido de una preposición, usaremos una forma no muy
parecida el Español.
Ejemplo:
María is with José in Belén at 6:00 a.m. everyday
Who is María with in Belén at 6:00 a.m. everyday ?

Learn English verb "to be

  • 1. MODULO 1. TO BE (PRESENT AND PAST) El verbo To Be significa Ser o Estar y lo usaremos en las oraciones cuando necesitemos expresar la idea de Ser o la de Estar. Como todo verbo en Inglés , el verbo To Be tiene básicamente dos tiempos, Presente y Pasado. Así mismo el verbo To Be se usará en todas la oraciones en donde sea necesario, a saber: afirmativas, interrogativas y negativas. Present Past I am I was You are You were He is He was She is She was It is It was We are We were You are You were They are They were Para pasar de una oración afirmativa a una interrogativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la oración, lo único que hay que hacer es intercambiar el orden de las palabras que hacen de sujeto y verbo. Ejemplo: Peter is a doctor ------ Is Peter a doctor? Para pasar de una oración afirmativa a una negativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la oración, lo único que hay que hacer es agregarle a la oración afirmativa la palabra “not” que dá la idea de negación, significa “no” y vá después del verbo To Be. Ejemplo: Peter is a doctor ------ Peter is not a doctor? Para pasar de una oración interrogativa a una negativa, mientras esté el verbo To Be en la oración, lo único que hay que hacer es intercambiar el orden de las palabras que hacen de verbo y sujeto y agregarle a la oración negativa la palabra “not” que dá la idea de negación, significa “no” y vá después del verbo To Be. . Ejemplo: Is Peter a doctor ------ Peter is not a doctor? 1
