New York City has transformed its cycling infrastructure from minimal to extensive, implementing a 450-mile bikeway network between 2007 and 2014 and achieving a 106% increase in bike counts. The introduction of the Citibike public bike system has facilitated over 15 million trips since May 2013, showing strong public support for cycling initiatives.
