2. It is a tent-shaped cavity situated anterior to
the cerebellum and posterior to the pons and
the superior half of the medulla oblongata
Communicates above with the cerebral
aqueduct and below with the central canal
of the medulla oblongata and spinal cord.
4. Two parts:
1): superior cerebellar peduncles
2):inferior cerebellar peduncles
5. Extends posteriorly toward the cerebellum
It has two parts :
1):Superior part = formed by
> superior cerebellar peduncles
> superior medullary velum
2):Inferior part=formed by
>Inferior medullary velum
6. It is a double layer of Pia meter
It give rise to the choroid plexus
Lies in the interval b/w lower part of roof of fourth
ventricle and the cerebellum
The cavity of the ventricle extends laterally over
the surface of cerebellar peduncle to form the
lateral recess
Each lateral recess has a lateral aperture
(Foramen of Luschka)
The 4rth ventricle communicate with subarachnoid
space by means of single median foramen
ofMegendie & two lateral foramina of Luschka
