2. On May 3rd, 2021, Marvel released a Stan Lee narrated, 3-minute,
promotional teaser for Phase 4 of the MCU, titled “Marvel Studios:
Celebrates The Movies”. The voiceover used of Stan Lee, the Marvel
Writer who passed away in 2018, touched on many things that the world
is facing today, which made it relatable to the times we are all living in
now. It was meant to promote going back and celebrating the movies,
while being together again with family, with underlying tones of equality
and race, all while building up a huge buzz and excitement for upcoming
2021 films, as well as films straight thru to 2023.
Disney is also using YouTube content to their advantage by releasing
Trailers to popular YouTube bloggers early, therefore giving them the
opportunity to create additional content of reviews and reactions of the
Disney/Marvel releases. This now is free promo for Disney, while letting
others interact with fans and discuss what they have seen, and what
they hope to see.
3. Disney + had its debut in November 2019, and it was perfect timing for
the pandemic, as fans were stuck to stay home instead of visiting the
movies. Marvel was able to take advantage of the new streaming
platform and create additional stories in streaming television shows that
fill in and add to the storylines of the MCU. Since January 2021, Marvel
released WandaVision & The Falcon & Winter Soldier; they have also
announced 10+ additional shows that will continue the MCU storylines,
between films.
4. Fans always want more, and if the demand is there, then give the people what
they want. Besides the stories, people want to know how these shows were
created, therefore Disney/Marvel has created shows like “Assembled” to give a
behind the scenes look at how shows are produced and the thought process
of the Studios creating characters and plots.
5. Marvel already has a number of different types of Marvel themed podcasts
that they create, and in December 2020, they created another, titled,
“Declassified”. This weekly podcast discusses secrets and little known facts
that fans may have not known already about the comics, TV shows, and
past/present/future films.
6. The One-stop shop for everything you are looking for. The most consequential
form of digital media content is having a website, and Marvel.com is the
destination for everything Marvel. From Comics, to Video Games, TV shows,
movies, podcasts, and even full character breakdowns of their thousands of
characters. This gives fans the ability to learn information about upcoming
characters, and help understand the films they are watching.
