Our pitch is for the best teen horror this year: THE DEADLY STRIKE!
Synopsis Watford's local rivals Luton Town have never been so angered following their relegation to the Blue Square Premier league. The consequence is that the feud spirals out of control and Luton's jealousy results in some brutal attacks and riots. Innocent teen and promising youth footballer Darren falls victim of one of these attacks in the opening sequence when he is unexpectedly slaughtered in front of his terrified girlfriend, Chloe. A deluded Chloe attempts to get to the bottom of the murder with or without the help of the police for help. Watford fans are still be murdered and Chloe needs to find the truth before another victim dies. However, as she digs deeper into the case, she realises there is more to the murderer than she first anticipated. Can Chloe find the truth or will the murderer find her first???
Research These are the three films we decided to research in order to help us with ideas for our film. We used Goal and Bend it like Beckham, as they are both footballs films, but also Psycho as it is classed as one the best horrors of all time. Psycho also gave us the idea of shocking the audience by killing the main character early on in the film.
Genre and Target Audience The genre of our film is teen horror and therefore our target audience is teenagers. We believe that our film will interest both genders of this age group, as there is the football story for the males, but it is also a horror to attract females as well This movie is made for anyone who loves a story of revenge, mystery and lots of gore… .
Budget Our Budget: £5million We decided this by looking at our reached movies. Goal’s Budget: £7million Bend It like Beckham: £4million We decided to go in between these two budgets. This was because our movie is a horror as well and will therefore need more special effects than Bend it like Beckham. We did not use the budget of Psycho because the film is dated and therefore the budget would be unrealistic.
