Release date – July 6th 2011 Buyers will have the opportunity
to buy the game ready for the summer holidays as this targets
the age range that this game is targeted at.
Trailers: 1st trailer – 20th December 2010 – Target audience
will be on their Christmas holidays and the trailer will have full
potential of reaching its target audience.
2nd trailer – 18th February 2011 – Again target audience will be
on half term holidays from school and they will have the ability
to see the advert more as they will be at home. On this trailer
the release date will be stated.
3rd trailer – 2nd May 2011 – National bank holiday, this means
that again the target audience as well as their parents will be
off from school and work. This allows the children to let their
parents know about the game.
Teasers
Picture of Niko Bellic behind bars in between add breaks on TV
to build suspense and excite the gaming community. After the
picture a black background will appear with the release date in
the middle of the screen.
2. Print Media
Closer to the release date release an Xbox magazine with the
main story focusing on the new game. Posters of Niko behind
bars with the release date on posted around big towns and
cities.
Online media
Links to trailers at the side of Internet pages such as youtube.
Advertising
Billboards in big cities and towns to target these highly
populated areas. Bus stops advertising because most of the
target audience will use busses.
Guerrilla marketing
Discuss with councils and consider using graffiti to advertise
the game because also this will target our focus group of
gamers.
Viral marketing
We will look to advertise and offer exclusive demos to fan sites.
This will keep the already existing customer base happy and
that makes it more likely for them to buy the game on release.
3. Synergy
The exclusive demo will be released at the same time as the
third trailer. The demo will be available on fan sites and
through beta codes on Xbox’s.
Summary
We have chosen these techniques as we feel that these will
help to advertise our game to the best of its ability. As a result
of this, it will boost sales and our customer base.
