chain is something we can foresee eventually. Right from
self-driven trucks to intelligent robots that manage
warehouses, the whole industry is witnessing the rapid

We have been adapting new technology architectures like
redesigning our ERP to a microservices-based design.
Implementing BI stack based on data lake to support the
business for analytics and insights. The intent is to make
sure that decisions are based on data and not just gut.”
“Deploying ML in areas where it can help in driving
operational efficiencies through optimized routing or
address correction and also helping operations by predicting
volumes and manpower requirements. We keep exploring
new avenues and areas where we could make use of AI and
ML to impact operations and drive better efficiencies or
optimizations,” stated Manoj.

The lockdowns imposed at the onset of the pandemic
dislocated supply chains and halted operations. The need of
the hour was to acclimatize people, systems and services to

“Some solutions need more communication for them to be
effectively used. Change management becomes a very
critical part of the overall project and special attention
needs to be paid to it. Last but not least simplicity of the
design and focus on the problem being solved play a great
part in the success of the projects and its acceptability in the
user community,” shared Manoj.

the adoption of modern technologies like AI and ML is

AI and ML can only help to replace repetitive tasks that
don't require much judgment and insight. UX, on the other
hand, requires a lot of intellectual exercises. Such as; you
don't select font colours based solely on a concrete
'psychological colour scheme list.' Or, you don't decide how
to divide it into grids based solely on the number of
elements on a page. You don't capture the sensitivity of
certain content through robotic decision-making.
At the end of the day, the point is that AI/ML and the human
brain should work together and not against each other.
Considering the current pandemic, what initial
challenges did you face and how did you drive your
company to sustain operations while ensuring the safety
of your employees at the same time?
Since the majority of our clients are headquartered in the
USA, our business model has not changed significantly
during the coronavirus because we are used to the idea of
remote working. But when the team had to switch to
working remotely, we modified our project management
and delivery methods to make sure everything went
according to plan. We have made sure the overall business
produces the best results for us and our clients through
effective marketing, recommendations, and a strong
outbound strategy.
What would be your advice to other tech business
leaders who wish to make their organizational
environments the best for their employees?
Different organizations are built around different cultures.
So the strategies they need to adopt might be different from
ours. Having said that, at Divami the leadership team instils
a sense of ownership and belonging in our employees,
which keeps them engaged and motivated at all times.
Because of this, the typical length of our employment is
three to four years. We are happy to treat them as
stakeholders rather than contributors. Therefore, I firmly
think that if you keep them inspired to grow both personally
and professionally and provide them with the tools to
overcome obstacles, they will perform at their best.

prospects in the future?
As a company, we're always evolving, both internally and
externally. Over the next two quarters, we plan to double in

modern app industry. In 2022 and beyond, we will witness
more real-life experience infusing into online gaming. The
industry is using technologies like 3D animations, voice
recognition, gesture control, and readily available no-code
design tools to deliver more digital experiences rooted in
the physical world.
As disruptive technologies like Blockchain, NFT, AR, VR,
IoT, and Augmented Reality is becoming mainstream,
developers are looking for new ways to monetize gaming
apps.
Collectibles, tokens, and player cards will be the new
community definers. Players will identify more with the in-
game avatars, and many large and small communities will

Where do you envision your company eventually, and

how you are currently positioned as one of the best

Smatbot was started in 2015 with the aim to grow
businesses by solving their biggest problem - Inefficiency.
Powered by knowledge and expertise in Artificial
Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, and Machine
Learning, Smatbot - a Chatbot platform was created to
increase efficiency, save time and decrease costs across
business processes.
Over the years, Smatbot has developed into a
comprehensive product that can be used across platforms
ranging from Websites to WhatsApp to Instagram. We
acquired Smatbot in 2020 after which we have seen
immense growth in the company's revenue, customer base,
and platform quality. We have now expanded globally with
offices in the United States as well as UAE. Our goal is not
only to build a basic data collection Chatbot but to solve
real-world complex business problems efficiently.
Tell us more about Smatbot's offerings and what aspects

the adoption of modern technologies like AI and ML is
impacting the Tech Solution space and how is Smatbot
adapting to this changing scenario.
We are strong believers that AI and ML are the future of the
world, and we have spent lots of time and effort to keep up
with the latest technologies and incorporate them into our
products.
We have created several AI-based applications with our
chatbots such as OCR validation, Identity document
verification, and Intent detection. Furthermore, we also
have other capabilities such as consignment validation and
fetching the data from barcodes and validating it. This
feature has proved useful with all our logistics clients.
As of now, we have integrations with Dialog Flow, Rasa,
and IBM Watson as a part of our AI provider integrations.
In addition, we plan to integrate our Chatbot with Neural
Space and our working on our own AI engine.
Considering the current pandemic, what initial
challenges did you face and how did you drive your
company to sustain operations while ensuring the safety
of your employees at the same time?
During the pandemic, we faced challenges in keeping our
operations running and ensuring employee safety. We
implemented several measures to achieve this feat. We
communicated regularly with each other to share tips and
best practices.
As soon as the pandemic hit us we gave work from home to
all the employees as our entire team had experience
working with remotely working employees, so we had not

had much of a problem developing new features, in fact, we
have developed our entire live chat application during the
peak pandemic time.
As the Chatbot market in general has seen some growth
during COVID because it can automate some of the manual
work we were able to double our revenue during COVID.
Even though we have seen some good results while our
employees worked from home we still wanted them in the
office to make the company much more efficient.
And once we opened our office back All of our employees
followed the social distancing in the office as far as the
seating arrangement is concerned and we sanitized the
office every day to keep all of our employees safe.
What would be your advice to other tech business
leaders who wish to make their organizational
environments the best for their employees?
I would advise other tech business leaders to make their
organizational environment better for the employees
through engaging activities like meetings, and workshops,
encouraging ideas, appreciating good work, and making
them feel like a special part of a family.
In addition to that, I believe the organization should have a
standardized process for executing daily plans and
executing them appropriately. If you have a big vision in
mind, I recommend that you start small and build from
there, and eventually you will achieve your bigger goal in
the long run.
How do you envision scaling Smatbot's growth and
prospects in the future?
We envision our business becoming a global leader in the
future and are passionate about investing in growth and
product innovation. We will leverage AI to automate many
of our processes, including product delivery and customer
support. Additionally, we will expand our offerings across
multiple verticals.
Our primary goal now is to make our chatbot platform as
complete as possible. We are working towards the same by
adding more messaging channels like iMessages and
Telegram to cater our chatbot to a wide range of customers.
We are also working on building our own AI engine.
Not only that, but we are also looking to expand our team
and expand our offices abroad. At the moment we have
offices in Hyderabad, the US, and UAE. We are now testing
the chatbot market in other countries as well. At the
moment we have around 150 paid clients and more than
3000 free users. Our goal is to take that number to 1000 by
the end of 2023. We feel like we are on the right track to
achieve this!

global IT services company has announced a plan to be 75%
remote by 2025; GitLab, the world’s largest all-remote
company, with 1,300 employees; Zapier a workflow automation
company with more than 300 employees are some of the
prominent organizations who have initiated the remote working
to a higher level.

At the end of the day, the point is that AI/ML and the human brain should work together and not against each other. Considering the current pandemic, what initial challenges did you face and how did you drive your company to sustain operations while ensuring the safety of your employees at the same time? Since the majority of our clients are headquartered in the USA, our business model has not changed significantly during the coronavirus because we are used to the idea of remote working. But when the team had to switch to working remotely, we modified our project management and delivery methods to make sure everything went according to plan. We have made sure the overall business produces the best results for us and our clients through effective marketing, recommendations, and a strong outbound strategy. What would be your advice to other tech business leaders who wish to make their organizational environments the best for their employees? Different organizations are built around different cultures. So the strategies they need to adopt might be different from ours. We have created several AI-based applications with our chatbots such as OCR validation, Identity document verification, and Intent detection. Furthermore, we also have other capabilities such as consignment validation and fetching the data from barcodes and validating it. This feature has proved useful with all our logistics clients. As of now, we have integrations with Dialog Flow, Rasa, and IBM Watson as a part of our AI provider integrations. In addition, we plan to integrate our Chatbot with Neural Space and our working on our own AI engine. Considering the current pandemic, what initial challenges did you face and how did you drive your company to sustain operations while ensuring the safety of your employees at the same time? During the pandemic, we faced challenges in keeping our operations running and ensuring employee safety. We implemented several measures to achieve this feat. We communicated regularly with each other to share tips and best practices. As soon as the pandemic hit us we gave work from home to all the employees as our entire team had experience working with remotely working employees, so we had not 58 | January, 2023 | www.insightssuccess.in
  • 61. had much of a problem developing new features, in fact, we have developed our entire live chat application during the peak pandemic time. As the Chatbot market in general has seen some growth during COVID because it can automate some of the manual work we were able to double our revenue during COVID. Even though we have seen some good results while our employees worked from home we still wanted them in the office to make the company much more efficient. And once we opened our office back All of our employees followed the social distancing in the office as far as the seating arrangement is concerned and we sanitized the office every day to keep all of our employees safe. What would be your advice to other tech business leaders who wish to make their organizational environments the best for their employees? I would advise other tech business leaders to make their organizational environment better for the employees through engaging activities like meetings, and workshops, encouraging ideas, appreciating good work, and making them feel like a special part of a family. In addition to that, I believe the organization should have a standardized process for executing daily plans and executing them appropriately. If you have a big vision in mind, I recommend that you start small and build from there, and eventually you will achieve your bigger goal in the long run. How do you envision scaling Smatbot's growth and prospects in the future? We envision our business becoming a global leader in the future and are passionate about investing in growth and product innovation. We will leverage AI to automate many of our processes, including product delivery and customer support. Additionally, we will expand our offerings across multiple verticals. Our primary goal now is to make our chatbot platform as complete as possible. We are working towards the same by adding more messaging channels like iMessages and Telegram to cater our chatbot to a wide range of customers. We are also working on building our own AI engine. Not only that, but we are also looking to expand our team and expand our offices abroad. At the moment we have offices in Hyderabad, the US, and UAE. We are now testing the chatbot market in other countries as well. At the moment we have around 150 paid clients and more than 3000 free users. Our goal is to take that number to 1000 by the end of 2023. We feel like we are on the right track to achieve this!
