1. Acid rain: It is also called acid precipitation or acid deposition possessing a PH of
about 5.2 or below primarily from the emission of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides
from human activities, mostly the combustion of fossil fuels.The phrase acid rain was
first used in 1852 by Scottish chemist Robert Angus Smith during his work
investigation of rain water chemistry near the industrial cities.

release hydrogen sulfide gas,and human sources such as smelters and fossil fuels both
