EOS Egyptian Organization for Standardization & Quality (EOS) is the only national & competent body in Egypt affiliated for undertaking all the relevant activities of preparing and issuing Egyptian standards as well as the different activities in the field of quality assurance and conformity assessment for the relevant products, testing and industrial measurements, aiming at increasing the quality of the Egyptian products to be competitive in the international and local markets along with consumer's protection and environment.

Standards Dep. • The General Department for Standards is concerned with developing Egyptian Standards through the technical staff in collaboration with the specialized technical committees, undertake the technical secretariat of these committees, conduct the relevant technical studies and follow-up the required laboratory experiments to develop the draft standards as well. • These concerned committees comprise specialists from different stakeholders such as industrial, scientific and supervisory activities as well as consumers according to various industrial and supervisory sectors.
  4. 4. Food Standards Dep. • The Food Standards Dep. Is under the General Department of Standards, includes different food technical committees responsible for developing Egyptian Food Standards in line with the international Standards issued by the International Organizations such as ISO, Codex …. • The dep. Includes 33 Food Technical Committees • Issued totally approx. 1601 Egyptian Food Standards • I’m here as a technical secretariat for the Special Dietary Food Committee that issues around 73 Egyptian Standards till now.

Special Foods Standards The following Egyptian Standards are developed to help the national nutrition approach in Egypt as follows: - ES 5117/2008 “BISCUIT OF SCHOOLS” - ES 1853/2005 “FOODS FOR SPECIAL DIETARY USED LOW ENERGY DRINKS” - ES 2108/2005 “LOW CALORIE MACARONI” - ES 2111/2006 “FOODS LOW CALORIE FOR USE IN WEIGHT CONTROL DIETS” - ES 2112/2007 “FORMULA FOODS FOR USE IN VERY LOW ENERGY DIETS FOR WEIGHT REDUCTION”

Special Foods Standards The following Egyptian Standards are developed to help the national nutrition approach in Egypt as follows: - ES 2735/2006 “LOW SODIUM IODIZED FOOD SALT (LIGHT)” - ES 4406/2008 “FOLLOW - UP FORMULA” - ES 2072/2013 “INFANT FORMULA” - ES 2240/2007 “GUIDELINES ON FORMULATED SUPLEMENTARY FOODS FOR INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN” - ES 8208/2018 “ADVISORY LISTS OF NUTRIENT COMPOUNDS FOR USE IN FOODS FOR SPECIAL DIETARY USES INTENDED FOR INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN”
