3. Our setting for our film was stereotypical of a normal house, there was nothing
different about the house to any others. We felt the costumes worn by the actors
were stereotypical of a teenager and fitted our target audience well. Also the age
of the actor was also stereotypical of a teenager as it fitted the age. The acting
portrayed by the actor was stereotypical of a frightened teenager, one of which is
unsure of what is happening and anxious of what is coming. At the end of the
film when it switched to 3 weeks earlier, the two actors having a conversation
was stereotypical of a normal day at college and a normal social intervention
between two friends.
4. Jackson Ghosh - Actor Jamie Ross - Actor
The costumes worn by the actor were stereotypical of a teenager, blue trousers and a
top which represented a young person lounging around at home like a normal day.
The age of the actor represented the age certificate of the film, being at 15, and the
actor being 16 we felt it suited our target audience of 15-30 and it appealed well to
the audience. We chose the actor to be male as we felt that if we used a female the
storyline would seem like the female was being stalked, and we felt the key points in
the film would not have been suitable for the female and not matched the storyline.
The other actor was used to show the audience that the main actor has friends and
that everything before the horror of that night three weeks later was normal up till
that day.
5. These are the actors
and actresses who
starred in
Paranormal Activity
3, which we based
our film and plot
around.
These are the actress and
actor who played the major
roles in Paranormal Activity
2, we used the kitchen door
slam which was similar to a
part in this film, we also
used the door knock with
no one outside similar to
this film.
6. The actors from the previous slide are quite young, and below 30 years old,
which is partly the reason we chose to use the plot of Paranormal Activity for
our film. Our first scene was used so the audience could get to know the
actor, understand his age, costumes and so the audience could realise the
ordinary setting. When the camera first zoomed in on the window and the
actor failed to realise that’s when the film started to familiarise with the plot
from Paranormal Activity. The knock at the door was similar to the film, also
we used the music build up similar to the one used in Inception. the
heartbeat was added as an individual idea to add tension to the ending of the
film. We didn’t want to end the film with a climax as that was not part of the
mark scheme, so we added a 3 weeks earlier scene to end the film like it was
the beginning.
We felt these things that occurred in the film such as the heartbeat and the
music build up suited the target audience and the social group. It can be to
males and females as we thought that if we only targeted one gender then
we would miss out on mass audiences and lose viewers.
7. We aimed our film at both
male and female social groups
because we didn’t want to lose
any viewers from this, we also
felt that not many adults aged
above 30 will watch our film,
we felt as a teenager was the
main actor and the costumes
worn by both actors were
fitting of a stereotypical
teenager we decided that the
best social group would be 15
to 30 year olds. As shown on
the right hand side in the
picture, this is what our target
audience was, 15 to 30 year
olds of either gender.
