Healthy Living
Every day the people in this nation zoom around in their busy lives. People cut corners to save
time and often take the easy route in many tasks. Sometimes by cutting these corners, an impact
can be made on the world around us and the people we love. Eating is just one of the many things
that people forget to take care of. Food is the foundation to our bodies. Food is what keeps people
going and fuels them to do what they need to do. In 337 BC, Hippocrates stated, "Let food be your
medicine and medicine be your food." Most of the food people consume is not good for them. Poor
nutrition is damaging and causes mood swings, behavioral issues, problems in...show more content...
The WHO has concluded that there is a growing epidemic of chronic illness. Evidence has shown a
direct relationship between poor diet and unhealthy lifestyles.
America has been a world leader in the areas of technology, medical and scientific research, and
higher education for generations. However, as people spent billions of dollars and millions of
man–hours solving the crises of infectious diseases around the world, a more silent and deadly
crisis grew; chronic illness (Rose, 2011).
Obesity is the most prevalent of all chronic diseases. According to the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC), in 2010, overweight and obesity counted for one third of the adult
population. Overweight and obesity can lead to chronic illnesses like hypertension, high cholesterol,
diabetes, heart disease, stroke, respiratory problems and some cancers. Unfortunately some aspects
of appetite come from an emotional nature, often times not feeding the body but feeding the need for
love and comfort (Kirschman, 2007). Other factors include hormonal malfunction, emotional tension,
boredom, habit or malnutrition. "According to a June 23, 2011 report published in the New England
Journal of Medicine, participants gained weight with the intake of potato chips, potatoes, sweetened
beverages, unprocessed red meats and processed meats. They lost weight with the intake of
vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and nuts (Rose,

The Benefits Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle
Benefits of Living a Healthy Lifestyle What is a healthy lifestyle? A healthy lifestyle is a way of
living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early. Not all diseases are preventable, but
a large proportion of deaths, particularly those from coronary heart disease and lung cancer, can be
avoided. It can be broken up into three different categories; Physical health, mental health and
nutritional well–being. Luckily there are many ways to improve each of these benefactors to truly
live a healthy lifestyle. Knowing is half the battle, but making the change is what makes the
difference. Undoubtedly, there's no way that anyone can argue being healthy. In today's world we
have all become more conscious that it's important to treat our bodies right, so we can live a long
and plentiful life. So, we can support for our families and hopefully live to see our great
grandchildren. Thankfully we have doctors, nutritionists and psychologists that we can count on to
give us the hard truth about what choices we need to make to be healthy. There are countless
numbers of articles and books that give some insight, but it's up to the individual themselves to
make the change. Now, there are two different kinds of physical health. There's physical fitness
which is "a physiologic state of well–being that allows one to meet the demands of daily living or
that provides the basis for sport performance." This basically gets into the more scientific or
biological side of fitness. Whereas health–related physical fitness, "involves the components of
physical fitness related to health status, including cardiovascular fitness, musculoskeletal fitness,
body composition and metabolism." Regardless of their differences both physical activity and
fitness are strong predictors of risk of death. Studies conducted by Warburton, Darren E. R., Nicol,
Crystal W., Bredin, Shannon S. D., show that both men and women who reported increased levels of
physical activity and fitness were found to have reductions in relative risk, by about 20 – 35%.
Clearly the importance of being physically fit is unmeasurable when put beside a human's life. As it
was stated before, knowing is half the battle. It's up to the individual to devote maybe an

Health is our Life "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live"–Jim Rohn. You
should ask yourself just how serious are you with your own health; Is it one of your top priorities?
The seriousness and value of health has improved greatly over history and over our time alive. The
life expectancy has risen greatly, there are more hospitals and preventative care, diets are put on
spotlight, and there is much more focus on exercise. As humans are progressing more in the area of
health and wellness we are learning that many diseases, mental issues, and long–term complications
can all be prevented through a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle includes not just exercise, but
having a well–rounded diet, and engaging in positive mental health activities. In popular culture,
important figures are often great sources that reveal to us just how important health is in our life
and they also give us useful guidance and direction. Choosing a healthy lifestyle is essential for
life and happiness because in the end, our health is our entire existence; Excuses such as lack of
time, money, and knowledge are poor justifications because there are many great, easily
accessible sources seen in our society today. Magazines are a very popular source of information
for fitness and diet advice. Often magazines will have fitness routines and advice from
professionals as well as diet tips and recipes. Specifically, Men's Health Magazine is a very

Healthy Lifestyle
It is generally believed that a longer and happier life stems from living a healthy lifestyle. There
are many ways that one can live such a life. Getting an appropriate amount of sleep is important to
everyone. Without rest, the human body will not function properly. The immune system weakens
and people are more susceptible to everyday illnesses. Also, a well balanced diet that incorporates
all of the major food groups and doesn 't exceed recommended daily caloric intake is crucial in any
healthy lifestyle. Along with eating well, one should get plenty of exercise. No one should jump
headfirst into weight training or cardio before working on their flexibility. Stretching is an important
part of staying fit. If not some severe crippling...show more content...
One study has found that just a 10% weight reduction helped obese patients reduce blood
pressure, cholesterol and increase longevity. Simple Ways to Move Your Body You can start the
process of weight loss now by adding a little more activity to your life. If you 're not ready for a
structured program, start small. Every little bit counts and it all adds up to burning more
calories. Turn off the TV. Once a week, turn off the TV and do something a little more physical
with your family. Play games, take a walk...almost anything will be more active than sitting on the
couch. Walk more. Look for small ways to walk more. When you get the mail, take a walk around
the block, take the dog for an extra outing each day or walk on your treadmill for 5 minutes before
getting ready for work. Do some chores. Shoveling snow, working in the garden, raking leaves,
sweeping the floor...these kinds of activities may not be 'vigorous ' exercise, but they can keep
you moving while getting your house in order. Pace while you talk. When you 're on the phone,
pace around or even do some cleaning while gabbing. This is a great way to stay moving while
doing something you enjoy. Be aware. Make a list of all the physical activities you do on a typical
day. If you find that the bulk of your time is spent sitting, make another list of all the

I Am A Healthy Life Essay
I'm living a healthy life in most aspects. Fist of all I keep healthy eating habits. I seldom skip
breakfast during my weekdays so that I'm energetic for my classes everyday. I always plan my
breakfast the day before, such as bagels or eggs. Breakfast is important so I try to make it fresh
and delightful. Sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee. Black tea is my favorite because caffeine
in it is lower than green tea or coffee. I always feel too excited after drinking coffee. I feel my
heart beating faster than usual and my hands may even shake. Usually I don't eat a lot at night,
especially before sleeping. This keeps my stomach healthy and prevents me from getting weight. I
prefer eating healthier food rather than fast food such as burgers and fries. Sushi or other Asian
dishes are always my dinner. They are light and balanced in nutrition, and good for my digest
system. However, as a college student, I have some unhealthy behaviors which are common
between me and my friends. The first one is, I always sleep after 12:00 am at night and it can be
later during the weekends. As a result of sleeping late at night, sometimes it is hard for me to get
up early in the morning. On the weekends I always wake up after 11:00 am. This is very
unhealthy because I skip my breakfast and also my biological changes. I have to get used to the
healthy routine again every Monday. Another bad behavior is that I seldom do any exercises. I
used to do it for few times every week, but later I

key to longevity are diet and exercise. Living a healthy lifestyle can ultimately add years onto
your life expectancy. There are certain groups of people around the world who are living longer
lives. For instance let's consider the pacific islanders of Okinawa. They have a life expectancy of
more than 81, compared to the average life expectancy of 78 here in the United States. Another
example would be the Seven Day Adventist who primarily have vegetarian diets, who outlive their
neighbors on average by four to seven years. Researchers have also studied the residents on the San

There are many foods in our diets today that are filled with sugar or unneccesary things that we eat
and we are unaware of. Our diets should be consisted of lots of vegetables and protein to be able to
live healthier and not having things such as too much oil or sugar and salt in our diets. Another
important strategy to use is to make sure not to overeat. According to an article on Health.com
research had been done in Japan and what they realized was that they would only eat until they
were 80 percent full. This helps them live longer and live healthier without feeling overstuffed
with food. To eating better you must able to see your food and that would be very difficult if you
are watching T.V. or your laptop while you are eating. Eating a meal with people and
communicating is a very good way to be able to both connect with people as well as eating slower
and realizing you are full quicker ("9 Ways To Live Longer"). In conclusion, living a healthy
lifestyle takes time and effort however it is achievable once you start. A healthy lifestyle includes
understanding the important and healthy foods that you should eat as well as exercising and
being active daily. Once you live a healthier lifestyle the quality of life that you will live will be

Adult Health There are many benefits to living a healthy lifestyle, and there are many aspects that
lead into it. Three important aspects that are most beneficial to a healthy life include sleep, diet
and nutrition, and exercise. To live a healthy life starts at a young age. Living a healthy lifestyle
when young is beneficial for adult life. One important aspect that is beneficial to adult health is
sleep. Not getting the correct amount of sleep has immediate effects that are often overlooked. One
important effect is the lack of energy. [If someone gets fewer hours of sleep one night, instead of
the correct amount, their energy level throughout the day is going to be lower than what it should
and could be. They may notice halfway throughout the day that they are are tired and cannot get
things done. Simply getting just a few more hours of sleep can increase energy and get them
through the day.] Another immediate effect most people don't take into consideration of getting the
incorrect hours of sleep is the brain is less active when we are awake. Teenagers in school often
times can't think straight, are not as alert, and can't get work done because of the amount of sleep
they got the night before. Same thing for adults at work. When the brain is properly rested it is more
alert and works faster. Without the brain functioning at full power nothing will get done efficiently.
A teenager is more prone to staying up late without thinking about the consequences that will come

The Problem Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle Essay
Society does not define what is perfect or who is perfect. Being "fat" does not mean someone is
imperfect or unhealthy. That is all thoughts that have evolved through ignorant minds. Living a
healthy lifestyle is what needs to be ingrained into our heads, not "you need to be skinny".
Magazines and television have been the prime source of these issues. With the lack of variety in
body sizes televised have brought fear in our children and leading them to be ashamed of how
they look. Some may give up because they fear they will never become "skinny". Being "fat" was
never the problem. The problem is being unhealthy and not having the chance to live a medically
stress free life. The numbers are growing in child obesity based on research, they are struggling,
"obesity in children rose from 25.7% in 2011–12 to 27.4% in 2014–15" (Cyril 2). If it continues to
grow it will be harder to stop and might spiral out of control. There are misconceptions on what it
means to be healthy and in shape. Society needs to open their eyes and understand that being "fat"
is not the problem but being unhealthy is. They need to gain knowledge on what it truly means to
be healthy. Over years America has tried to help childhood obesity but never really making it clear
that being overweight is not necessarily a bad thing. When society makes it seem as if being
overweight is a bad thing it causes children to be a little insecure. They may feel as though they do
not fit in. This was part of the reason

Developing healthy behaviors can lead to a healthier lifestyle, but living a healthier life is an
ongoing process. Oftentimes people believe that they have achieved a healthy lifestyle once they
have fixed one specific health problem, but this is simply not true. In order to develop and achieve a
healthy lifestyle, it is pertinent to devote time creating healthy behaviors that can be maintained over
an extended period of time or indefinitely. Moreover, individuals must recognize that theirnutrition
and physical activity can impact their health. Individuals who participate in regular physical activity
will see numerous benefits to not only their short–term health, but also their long–term health. On
the other hand, individuals who live a relatively inactive or sedentary lifestyle can see an "increase
in the incidence of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic
respiratory diseases" (Hoeger, et al. 3). Furthermore, the U.S Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention have conducted studies that have found that "almost 80 percent of the latter deaths could
be prevented through a healthy lifestyle program" (Hoeger, et al. 3).
About a year ago, I went to the doctor with some health concerns and my doctor requested that I

high at 147 mg/dL.

The Importance Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle
What does it mean to be healthy and why do we strive to live a healthy lifestyle?
Let's first start by defining what Health is: it's the state of being sound or whole, in the body, mind,
or soul; especially being free from physical disease or pain. There are so many different kinds of
health: ranging from physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and so forth. Now, a lifestyle is the
pattern of habits you decide to pursue in your life. What most people misinterpret about a healthy
lifestyle is that it's not just about eating "healthy" foods or working out at the gym, but rather the
pattern of healthy habits that you create that sustains your personal well–being.
In 2016, 92.5% of Canadians aged 12 and older (27.3 million people) reported that they were
satisfied or very satisfied with their life. While this number remained unchanged for females in the
previous year, Males experienced a slight reduction in life satisfaction compared to 2015.
So how are the different kinds of health linked together? The fact is that your physical health effects
your mental health, while your spiritual health affects your emotional health and so on. So let's
pretend that you started seeing someone you like, now although your physical health might be at its
prime, if your emotional health isn't justifiably high either then you would experience at some point
unhappiness and discomfort with your life regardless of which person you decide to be with. Thus
compromising your overall well–being.

Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is indeed a meaningful duty we owe ourselves. 'If you do not have
good health, you do not have wealth'. Healthy lifestyle means upholding a balanced and nutritious
diet as well as involves in fitness activities. A healthy diet alone however isn't sufficient to produce
a healthy body as physical activity helps to keep one in shape and free of sickness and disease.
First of all, water is vital for our healthy. Water is the most important and abundant inorganic
compound that contain in all living things. For example, drinking water after exercise helps us to
replace the fluids lost and to ensure we stay properly hydrated. When we work up a sweat during
exercise, our body loses large volumes of water which can lead to dehydration if we don't replace
them by drinking water or other fluids. Cannot be denying that humans might be able to survive for
weeks without food, however without water we would die in a couple of days. As adults, we tend
to drink coffee and soda rather than water. Water is so important for generate healthy organ
function, lubricated joints and even strong bones. If you can't stop taking the caffeinated drink
altogether, which by the way it can lead to the increased of dehydration. Most of the body's
chemical reactions are occur in a watery medium. Water has many properties that make it become
crucial compound for life.
Besides that, we must also exercise regularly to maintain good health. Exercise is regularly or

Health is very important. It's how you treat yourself and how you define it. It's very important to
maintain a healthy lifestyle. One should make time for everything within their busy lifestyle for
things like sleep, exercise and eat healthy. I believe that those are necessary factors for an
everyday lifestyle. I know that for myself I would want to prevent diseases in any possible way that I
can. In order for myself to accomplish this, I try to take care of myself as much as I can. To feel
emotionally and physically healthy I always fit in the time and effort to add those factors to my
everyday life.
What does it mean to be emotionally and physically healthy? Well, in my definition it means that I
shouldn't let myself down and I should have positive thoughts about everything that makes me
happy. Physically healthy I think for myself should be that I take the time to do some sort of
physical activity and eating well most of the time so I can feel good about myself.
Being happy is also a major factor. One thing that I have learned over time is that being fit is not
the only way that you can feel fresh. When I feel that I am healthy, I feel like I have all the energy
in the world. Feeling healthy just makes me feel more alive and that way I'm more productive. I
don't slack around and do nothing. I'm able to stay focused on school, go to the gym, and also go
to work. It makes it easier for me to do all these things rather than complain about all of the
workloads and not doing

Importance Of A Healthy Lifestyle Essay
A healthy lifestyle can be defined as a certain way of living that normally lowers the possibility of
an individual falling sick or even dying early. It is not possible to prevent a large proportion of
deaths especially those from the heart and lungs but at the same time it is possible to avoid them.
A lifestyle that is healthy makes one very fit, strong as well as reduces the risks of certain
diseases. A healthy lifestyle is based on the various choices that we normally make in our day to
day lives. The foundations to a healthy lifestyle are based on many things but the most crucial all
come down to one concept, maintaining a healthy body weight. Eating healthy is one of the ways
that can make one die healthy; we find that it is therefore very important to observe what we eat.
This is because our body systems depend on the continuous supply of nutrients that we give to
our bodies'. The nutrients are mainly from the food we eat and they include vitamins,
carbohydrates, minerals and fats. Due to these, we need to take different types of food so that we
can ensure that our bodies get all the relevant nutrients. Our diet should contain vegetables, whole
grain as well as fruits We find that our society is changing so much especially when it comes to
the kinds of food we eat. Most of the people do not know how to prepare various types of food and
hence they end up eating processed foods which are not very healthy and not eating a lot of fresh
vegetables and fruits. This is

With the stresses of school such as, tests, time management, and deadlines, a healthy lifestyle is
vital to a student. It is not easy to get a perfect score on a test, or even an A for that matter,
depending on level of difficulty, and it is not easy to take on the burden of responsibility that rests
on a student such as a job might interfere with a school deadline. Not only is the academic part of
school stressful, but the social aspect is as well. Image is everything to a high school or middle
school student and competing with academics, the social life sometimes takes precedence in a
student's life. However, there needs to be a balance in those areas. A healthy lifestyle in school is
important because your habits can affect one's school...show more content...
This relates back to eating a nutritional breakfast. Not only will the habit of not eating a healthy
breakfast, or even eating breakfast at all, it will also influence a student's attitude. If a student
intakes a breakfast such as waffles with maple syrup, this is mostly bread and sugar. This can
cause a sugar drop if the person continues to eat sugar throughout the day, and completely cancels
out the breakfast that was intended to feed the brain. When a sugar drop occurs, the person is
emotionally brought to a high peak where, depending on the person, they are extremely happy,
then when the unexpected sugar drop happens, emotionally a person is brought down to their
lowest point, and sadness can occur, or crying randomly. This is not good for a student in college
who needs to perform their best with studies. Self esteem is how a person views his/her value,
whether that is outward appearance, work ethic, or value compared to someone else. A person's
self–esteem is their choice, however, it can be heavily influenced by outside sources such as media
and unhealthy eating habits. If a student sits around all day, every day playing video games and
eating Lays Potato Chips, with no exercise, it is only fair to conclude they are going to be
overweight. The body cannot handle that for a long period of time without having any effects. After
this happens, the student will be unhappy about what he/she looks like and the

Healthy Lifestyle : A Healthy Life Essay
Everyone talks about living a healthy life, however, very few people actually make an effort to live
one out in their day to day lives. Many people believe a healthy life implies looking good and feeling
good, but what does a healthy life really look like? In today's society, a healthy person is described
as one who does not smoke, does not drink in excess, has a healthy weight, eats healthy foods and
exercises regularly. How many of us actually do all these things? In this day and age, it is not easy to
commit to a healthy lifestyle because healthy food can be expensive and people are too busy to
exercise daily, however, leading a healthy life is one of the best decisions a person can make because
it will impact all aspects of their life – physical, mental, and emotional (Lewis NP). "Every food we
eat provides the body with a range of nutrients, each with its own role to play. Eating a balanced,
varied diet every day will ensure that you have everything you need for good health, including foods
that provide energy, fiber, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals" ("Food for Life").
According to Healthy Lifestyles Living, "Many health issues are addressed with exercise, nutrition,
and other healthy practices in one's day to day life." Although nutrition and adequate amounts of
exercise are key importance's to being healthy, there are many misconceptions about what healthy
nutrition really looks like. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy

Benefits Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle Essay
Do you ever wonder and say to yourself "How can I be healthy and what do I need to stop doing
in my everyday life style?", actually, it's really easy to be healthy, but it needs responsibility and
care from the person following them. If a person wants to live healthy, he/she can do that by
having new habits in his/her life. Everybody wants to live an active, vibrant life for as long as
possible, and that goal depends on one's brain health. Some habits that the brain and the body need
to function well and be healthy are exercising, not smoking, managing stress, sleeping well,
taking better care of oneself, have a healthy diet, and most importantly socializing ("Better
habits"). Every person has a different point of view on what a healthy way of living is; however,
it only comes down to working on good health habits and letting go of harmful ones. With healthy
habits, one can only obtain positive effect out of it. For example, one will have much more
energy, sleep better than before and be more relaxed, you will have your dream toned body,
strong body muscles, strong hair, healthy skin, and most importantly you will be pleased and have
a better outlook on life (Bellenir 558). To start a new "life", one begins with small steps, simple
changes, which will produce big changes after a short time. Living a healthy lifestyle could be
challenging in the beginning for people who crave foods easily and can't control their appetite

Living A Healthy Lifestyle Essay

  • 1. Essay on Adopting a Healthy Lifestyle Adopting a Healthy Lifestyle Kaplan University CM220–13 7/17/12 Healthy Living Every day the people in this nation zoom around in their busy lives. People cut corners to save time and often take the easy route in many tasks. Sometimes by cutting these corners, an impact can be made on the world around us and the people we love. Eating is just one of the many things that people forget to take care of. Food is the foundation to our bodies. Food is what keeps people going and fuels them to do what they need to do. In 337 BC, Hippocrates stated, "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food." Most of the food people consume is not good for them. Poor nutrition is damaging and causes mood swings, behavioral issues, problems in...show more content... The WHO has concluded that there is a growing epidemic of chronic illness. Evidence has shown a direct relationship between poor diet and unhealthy lifestyles. America has been a world leader in the areas of technology, medical and scientific research, and higher education for generations. However, as people spent billions of dollars and millions of man–hours solving the crises of infectious diseases around the world, a more silent and deadly crisis grew; chronic illness (Rose, 2011). Obesity is the most prevalent of all chronic diseases. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2010, overweight and obesity counted for one third of the adult population. Overweight and obesity can lead to chronic illnesses like hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, respiratory problems and some cancers. Unfortunately some aspects of appetite come from an emotional nature, often times not feeding the body but feeding the need for love and comfort (Kirschman, 2007). Other factors include hormonal malfunction, emotional tension, boredom, habit or malnutrition. "According to a June 23, 2011 report published in the New England Journal of Medicine, participants gained weight with the intake of potato chips, potatoes, sweetened beverages, unprocessed red meats and processed meats. They lost weight with the intake of vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and nuts (Rose, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Benefits Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle Benefits of Living a Healthy Lifestyle What is a healthy lifestyle? A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early. Not all diseases are preventable, but a large proportion of deaths, particularly those from coronary heart disease and lung cancer, can be avoided. It can be broken up into three different categories; Physical health, mental health and nutritional well–being. Luckily there are many ways to improve each of these benefactors to truly live a healthy lifestyle. Knowing is half the battle, but making the change is what makes the difference. Undoubtedly, there's no way that anyone can argue being healthy. In today's world we have all become more conscious that it's important to treat our bodies right, so we can live a long and plentiful life. So, we can support for our families and hopefully live to see our great grandchildren. Thankfully we have doctors, nutritionists and psychologists that we can count on to give us the hard truth about what choices we need to make to be healthy. There are countless numbers of articles and books that give some insight, but it's up to the individual themselves to make the change. Now, there are two different kinds of physical health. There's physical fitness which is "a physiologic state of well–being that allows one to meet the demands of daily living or that provides the basis for sport performance." This basically gets into the more scientific or biological side of fitness. Whereas health–related physical fitness, "involves the components of physical fitness related to health status, including cardiovascular fitness, musculoskeletal fitness, body composition and metabolism." Regardless of their differences both physical activity and fitness are strong predictors of risk of death. Studies conducted by Warburton, Darren E. R., Nicol, Crystal W., Bredin, Shannon S. D., show that both men and women who reported increased levels of physical activity and fitness were found to have reductions in relative risk, by about 20 – 35%. Clearly the importance of being physically fit is unmeasurable when put beside a human's life. As it was stated before, knowing is half the battle. It's up to the individual to devote maybe an Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Getting an appropriate amount of sleep is important to everyone. Without rest, the human body will not function properly. The immune system weakens and people are more susceptible to everyday illnesses. Also, a well balanced diet that incorporates all of the major food groups and doesn 't exceed recommended daily caloric intake is crucial in any healthy lifestyle. Simple Ways to Move Your Body You can start the process of weight loss now by adding a little more activity to your life. If you 're not ready for a structured program, start small. Every little bit counts and it all adds up to burning more calories. Turn off the TV. Once a week, turn off the TV and do something a little more physical with your family. Play games, take a walk...almost anything will be more active than sitting on the couch. Walk more. Look for small ways to walk more. When you get the mail, take a walk around the block, take the dog for an extra outing each day or walk on your treadmill for 5 minutes before getting ready for work. Do some chores. Shoveling snow, working in the garden, raking leaves, sweeping the floor...these kinds of activities may not be 'vigorous ' exercise, but they can keep you moving while getting your house in order. Pace while you talk. When you 're on the phone, pace around or even do some cleaning while gabbing. This is a great way to stay moving while doing something you enjoy. Be aware. • 6. I Am A Healthy Life Essay I'm living a healthy life in most aspects. Fist of all I keep healthy eating habits. I seldom skip breakfast during my weekdays so that I'm energetic for my classes everyday. I always plan my breakfast the day before, such as bagels or eggs. Breakfast is important so I try to make it fresh and delightful. Sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee. Black tea is my favorite because caffeine in it is lower than green tea or coffee. I always feel too excited after drinking coffee. I feel my heart beating faster than usual and my hands may even shake. Usually I don't eat a lot at night, especially before sleeping. This keeps my stomach healthy and prevents me from getting weight. I prefer eating healthier food rather than fast food such as burgers and fries. Sushi or other Asian dishes are always my dinner. They are light and balanced in nutrition, and good for my digest system. However, as a college student, I have some unhealthy behaviors which are common between me and my friends. The first one is, I always sleep after 12:00 am at night and it can be later during the weekends. As a result of sleeping late at night, sometimes it is hard for me to get up early in the morning. On the weekends I always wake up after 11:00 am. This is very unhealthy because I skip my breakfast and also my biological changes. I have to get used to the healthy routine again every Monday. Another bad behavior is that I seldom do any exercises. I used to do it for few times every week, but later I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. Living A Healthy Lifestyle Adult Health There are many benefits to living a healthy lifestyle, and there are many aspects that lead into it. Three important aspects that are most beneficial to a healthy life include sleep, diet and nutrition, and exercise. To live a healthy life starts at a young age. Living a healthy lifestyle when young is beneficial for adult life. One important aspect that is beneficial to adult health is sleep. Not getting the correct amount of sleep has immediate effects that are often overlooked. One important effect is the lack of energy. [If someone gets fewer hours of sleep one night, instead of the correct amount, their energy level throughout the day is going to be lower than what it should and could be. They may notice halfway throughout the day that they are are tired and cannot get things done. Simply getting just a few more hours of sleep can increase energy and get them through the day.] Another immediate effect most people don't take into consideration of getting the incorrect hours of sleep is the brain is less active when we are awake. Teenagers in school often times can't think straight, are not as alert, and can't get work done because of the amount of sleep they got the night before. Same thing for adults at work. When the brain is properly rested it is more alert and works faster. Without the brain functioning at full power nothing will get done efficiently. • 11. The Problem Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle Essay Society does not define what is perfect or who is perfect. Being "fat" does not mean someone is imperfect or unhealthy. That is all thoughts that have evolved through ignorant minds. Living a healthy lifestyle is what needs to be ingrained into our heads, not "you need to be skinny". Magazines and television have been the prime source of these issues. With the lack of variety in body sizes televised have brought fear in our children and leading them to be ashamed of how they look. Some may give up because they fear they will never become "skinny". Being "fat" was never the problem. The problem is being unhealthy and not having the chance to live a medically stress free life. The numbers are growing in child obesity based on research, they are struggling, "obesity in children rose from 25.7% in 2011–12 to 27.4% in 2014–15" (Cyril 2). If it continues to grow it will be harder to stop and might spiral out of control. There are misconceptions on what it means to be healthy and in shape. Society needs to open their eyes and understand that being "fat" is not the problem but being unhealthy is. They need to gain knowledge on what it truly means to be healthy. Over years America has tried to help childhood obesity but never really making it clear that being overweight is not necessarily a bad thing. When society makes it seem as if being overweight is a bad thing it causes children to be a little insecure. They may feel as though they do not fit in. This was part of the reason Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Living A Healthy Lifestyle Developing healthy behaviors can lead to a healthier lifestyle, but living a healthier life is an ongoing process. Oftentimes people believe that they have achieved a healthy lifestyle once they have fixed one specific health problem, but this is simply not true. In order to develop and achieve a healthy lifestyle, it is pertinent to devote time creating healthy behaviors that can be maintained over an extended period of time or indefinitely. Moreover, individuals must recognize that theirnutrition and physical activity can impact their health. Individuals who participate in regular physical activity will see numerous benefits to not only their short–term health, but also their long–term health. On the other hand, individuals who live a relatively inactive or sedentary lifestyle can see an "increase in the incidence of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases" (Hoeger, et al. 3). Furthermore, the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have conducted studies that have found that "almost 80 percent of the latter deaths could be prevented through a healthy lifestyle program" (Hoeger, et al. 3). About a year ago, I went to the doctor with some health concerns and my doctor requested that I have a blood test done. Through these tests, my doctor discovered that I have a high cholesterol of 256 mg/dL. She explained that she was mainly concerned with the fact that my LDL cholesterol was high at 147 mg/dL. • 13. The Importance Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle What does it mean to be healthy and why do we strive to live a healthy lifestyle? Let's first start by defining what Health is: it's the state of being sound or whole, in the body, mind, or soul; especially being free from physical disease or pain. There are so many different kinds of health: ranging from physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and so forth. Now, a lifestyle is the pattern of habits you decide to pursue in your life. What most people misinterpret about a healthy lifestyle is that it's not just about eating "healthy" foods or working out at the gym, but rather the pattern of healthy habits that you create that sustains your personal well–being. In 2016, 92.5% of Canadians aged 12 and older (27.3 million people) reported that they were satisfied or very satisfied with their life. While this number remained unchanged for females in the previous year, Males experienced a slight reduction in life satisfaction compared to 2015. So how are the different kinds of health linked together? The fact is that your physical health effects your mental health, while your spiritual health affects your emotional health and so on. So let's pretend that you started seeing someone you like, now although your physical health might be at its prime, if your emotional health isn't justifiably high either then you would experience at some point unhappiness and discomfort with your life regardless of which person you decide to be with. Thus compromising your overall well–being. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Importance Of Healthy Lifestyle Essay Health is very important. It's how you treat yourself and how you define it. It's very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One should make time for everything within their busy lifestyle for things like sleep, exercise and eat healthy. I believe that those are necessary factors for an everyday lifestyle. I know that for myself I would want to prevent diseases in any possible way that I can. In order for myself to accomplish this, I try to take care of myself as much as I can. To feel emotionally and physically healthy I always fit in the time and effort to add those factors to my everyday life. What does it mean to be emotionally and physically healthy? Well, in my definition it means that I shouldn't let myself down and I should have positive thoughts about everything that makes me happy. Physically healthy I think for myself should be that I take the time to do some sort of physical activity and eating well most of the time so I can feel good about myself. Being happy is also a major factor. One thing that I have learned over time is that being fit is not the only way that you can feel fresh. When I feel that I am healthy, I feel like I have all the energy in the world. Feeling healthy just makes me feel more alive and that way I'm more productive. I don't slack around and do nothing. I'm able to stay focused on school, go to the gym, and also go to work.
