SHARED READING

My Objective
    Do a shared reading on the cycle.

Problem:

I couldn’t
find a big
book or
multiple
copies of an
appropriate
book.
Solution:
    Use technology to project a book!

Prep
    I scanned in the book I was using and created


    a power point.
Our Classroom

I introduced
the lesson to
the children.
Using a KWL chart

I wrote what
the students
said as we
did a KWL
about
chicken
eggs.
The Book

We read the
book as it
was
projected.
The kids
loved it!
Updating KWL

As the
students
made
comments
about what
we learned I
filled in our
KWL chart.
TPACK
    1. Student Use of Technology?


     No, it is teacher controlled, but student’s are
     active in adding ideas to the KWL.
    2. Technology Use is Essential?


     Yes,
         all students must be able to see the book
     and words.
TPACK
    3. Focus on Learning Task?


     Technology   aided in quickly adding to the KWL so
      all students could see.
     The shared reading was the focus, not the
      technology to project it.
    4. Added Value?


    I couldn’t have done the topic without technology!
     KWL was quicker and more convenient on
      computer versus on the board.
Conclusion
It was a great solution!
