1. ASSURE Method for Friday: The Treaty of Versailles
Analyze Learner: High school history students in the 10th
grade. The class consists of 23
students with 13 being male and 10 being female. The students are good visual learners.
There is one student in the class who cannot walk and uses a wheelchair with an aide.
State the Objective: The class will at first view a comedic Photoshop I made to show the
result of WWI> The class will then be going over the Treaty of Versailles and it’s huge
role in resolving the war and it’s effects after the war. The students will participate in
class by listening to the pod cast that I made which covers the treaty the Versailles. The
students will also have to write another written response about their opinion on the
Treaty. This should all be on the fifth (Friday) and final day of the Unit Plan. After today
the students should be able to explain the Treaty of Versailles with 95% accuracy.
Select Method Media and Materials: The only thing I will be using for today’s lesson is
the Photoshop and the pod cast that I made on the Treaty of Versailles. I will also use a
word document to give them the writing assignment for the day.
Utilize Method Media and Materials: I will be using the Photoshop to show them a
comedic viewpoint of the War’s effect on Europe. I will be using the pod cast to give the
kids a quick rundown of what the Treaty did, and the key players involved. I will use the
word document to give them the assignment.
Require Learner Participation: Students will participate by listening to the pod cast that I
have made for them. They will also participate by writing their responses to their
evaluation question.
Evaluate and Revise: The students will be evaluated by writing a response to the
question,. “Do you think the Germans deserved punishment for the war?” This response
should have some good thought into it, and should examine the causes of the war to look
for explanation behind your reasoning.
