2. COSTUMES – SCENE 1
In the first scene (the town centre) Isabella will be wearing a smart
tartan dress (green and black), black tights and smart shoes. This is
to show her as being a well dress and organised woman. It also
accurately contrasts her state in the next scene. As this is a dream,
this is the best version of herself she can possibly imagine and
therefore is well made up and most definitely on time. Blue often
connotes confidence and stability which will also be shown in her
gait. In her dream she is certainly stable in her lifestyle.
3. COSTUMES – SCENE 2
In the second scene Isabella wears 2 costumes. First she is seen wear
pyjamas as she has just woken up. They are Harry Potter pyjamas and
therefore blue and red. The blue represents productivity shown by her
various tasks of the morning and red could convey her hunger in the
morning which is usually stimulated by the colour. Also the red could
connote to the romance that will happen later on in the film. To continue,
the Harry Potter pyjamas could give a sense of childishness and an insight
into her interests as well as making her as a character more relatable to
audience members that are also fans of Harry Potter. Her hair will be messy
as she has just woken up. This state is likely to be the most relatable to a
young female audience.
After showering Isabella will be dressed. I have chosen black jeans and her
choosing between a plain white and baby pink t-shirt. The white could
connote her innocence and purity in her still being young. However, she will
end up in the baby pink to connote a cute, playful character and further
reference the romance later in the film. Her black jeans are simple and a
common fashion item of the 21st century making the character more
fashionable in the eyes of the audience.
4. PROPS
In the first scene Isabella will be carrying a black handbag and a
coffee. Her handbag will be smart to further connote to her neat
appearance. Also it shows a sense of importance and authority as well
as making her seem organised. The coffee makes her seen as if she is
successful in her job and has enough disposable income to afford a
daily morning coffee. This could be aspirational to the audience and
this may make them look up to Isabella right at the beginning to the
film.
Her phone will be used as a significant part of the storyline as her
phone ringing in her dream ends up being her alarm clock and allows
me to connect the two scenes together.
5. ACTORS
My chosen actor is Chloe Street as she lives close to me so is easily
accessible. This means there is an element of flexibility as she can be
accessed easily and at short notice without the need of transport to
get to my house (the location for scene 2). Also, her being at school
means we can use lesson time and study periods to film the town
centre section.
Also as she is a teenager she can easily represent the age of the early
20 year old my character is. The female audience is likely to find her
as an actress relatable in her clothes and makeup choices as well as
her class being similar to theirs.
I used her for my preliminary task and found her easy to work with
and direct and I feel as if this will help filming run more smoothly.
