5. WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY-BASED ART?
• Technology-based art is essentially
computer-generated and/or manipulated.
• Today’s computer artists employ the ever-
expanding powers of image manipulation
programs and applications to create their
works which can appear in an entire range
of media.
6. ELEMENTS OF ART AS APPLIED TO
TECHNOLOGY-BASED ART
• Line - Distance between two points
(or the path of a moving point),
taking any form along the way.
• Shape - A figure of a particular condition
that outline anything that you can see.
7. • Color - Different hues, shades
applied in arts and design
• Value - The use of lightness and
darkness of color shading and
highlighting in an artwork.
8. • Form - Can be created by the
forming of two or more shapes or as

9. • Was digital art readily accepted and recognized as
“true art” when it emerged in the 1960s? What
was the reason for this?
• What devices can now be used to create digital
art? Do you own one such device?
• Name one or two computer programs that can
enable you to create an original illustration from
scratch.
10. ACTIVITY 1
• Directions: From the example of a technology-based
artwork below, what elements of art were used? Explain
your answer.
