2. Cinematography
• The Inbetweeners Movies opens with an over the shoulder shot
where we can see one of the main protagonists. In this shot we see
him having a conversation with his father in the front room of his
house.
• Moreover, panning shots are also used to establish a sense of
location and setting. In this panning shot the audience are able to
gain an understanding of the protagonists’ local area.
3. Editing
• Titles are embedded onto the screen however are
placed on blue skies and clouds. The titles are
bold, white and sans serif. They introduce the names of
the four main protagonists we will be seeing throughout
the entire film.
4. Sound
• Throughout the opening, we hear diagetic sounds of conversations
and background noise and also non-diagetic sounds of the
voiceover spoken by the protagonist.
• Within the voice over he describes his home life, and what he has
been through. He uses teenage language and speaks in a way to
suit his type of character.
• This voiceover is ways is comedic due to the way he speaks and
what the remarks he makes.
5. Representation
• Characters are represented as typical teenagers in this film. For
example, we can get an understand of the second character through
the way his bedroom is set out before we even get to see him. He
seems like a stereotypical reckless teenager who leaves dirty
clothes laying around his bedroom.
