6. • Since we are dunking one of our characters heads in a bucket of water in the
opening of our film, it best that we do it inside to make sure the actor doesn't
get cold during filming, this location allows for that since it is underground and
relatively warm.
• A downside of this location though, is the lack of a water source (tap) so we will
have to travel from an apartment down to the car park which will be
inconvenient as well as time consuming.
• A massive upside to this location is that it’s very discreet and quite since it is
underground so there will be minimal background noise when filming as well as
cutting down on interference since people will only be coming to access their
parked cars.
• A downside to filming in this location is the harsh lighting, since it is a carpark
used by residents of the apartments on a regular basis. It is a requirement that
it’s constantly lit. This will deduct from the dark atmospheric setting we are
aiming to achieve since we cannot alter the lighting in the area.
9. • A massive downside to filming in this particular location compared to
the other is the issue of filming outside. Mainly due to two reasons,
the first being that of wind ruining the audio from the film and the
second being the issue of our actor getting cold during the filming
since one is getting their head dunked in a bucket of water.
• Although, to make up for the location being outside, there is a
conveniently placed tap, literally a meter away from where we have
chosen to possibly film (I have made this tap obvious in the
photographs by circling it). This makes it very easy setting up the
bucket of water that will be later used in the opening.
• As mentioned previously, lighting will be a big issue in the apartment
car park due to it’s intensity. But as you can see from the images,
the lighting is very dim and dull to further add a feeling of darkness
and grit to our film opening.
