Unit 11 – Assignment 4
In this report I will discuss how I developed my website for Unit 11. I will talk
about my finished product, production process and where I have got the
information I have needed to make my website.
Firstly I will be talking about what my finished product is. The finished
product includes where I have got the images from and if I have made it myself
as it should be original. In my website I have made a navigation bar, this is
creative because I have made it by myself and that I have not used the internet
to make it. Although I did get some ideas from my teacher on how I should
make the navigation bar. The final product was a website that I have designed
with Dreamweaver.
Here I have 2 screenshots of my home page and biography; this is to show
what I have changed onto the next page. Everything stayed the same except
the home page title wasn’t there, the login part wasn’t there and that the
navigation bar wasn’t there. But instead when I made the actual website the
navigation bar was there on the top. This is suitable for my target audience
because it is aimed at children aged 5 and over. This type of audience is
actually not hard to please as long as they are able to read and download
pictures. The only technical difficulties I have had are that I couldn’t get rid of
the blue grid lines when I was making my website on Dreamweaver. My visual
design for my product was that I wanted my superhero to be Spiderman this is
because it is one of my favourite superhero.

The skills that I have gained are I have used my designing skills to make my
website on Dreamweaver which is very good when you are beginner in making
a website for the first time. I have also then made a hotspot and how I could
make my own buttons. However the problem I had to face with my website is
that it took quite long in terms of me trying to fix the problem of the grid lines
when I was making my website on Dreamweaver. What I think I could have
included tis that I could have added more vibrant colours to make the website
look much more appealing to the younger audience. I could have also put in
some Spiderman game links ion the media page which would have attracted
more viewers/audience.
The overall performance and the general quality of my work was really good,
because I can tell that I have put in a lot of time and effort into making it look
just as real in real life because obviously I would have not developed this into a
real website. The feedback I have received where that I have done really good
but I just needed to had in a few extra bits such as making the buttons look
like the word are tangled in a web because my superhero was Spiderman. This
has then helped me developed my work into a better piece of work.
If I was to do this piece of work again, I would change the colour scheme of my
website. I would add more images and make the website look much more
appealing and I would put a lot more effort into the website instead of it falling
apart. I should have added the inter title and added the log in area and the
navigation bar.
