2. Things to consider when creating a 5 Year Plan
You need to know what your DREAMS are.
Since this is a long-term plan, it is important to consider different aspects of
your life, both personal and professional.
It’s ok to feel some insecurity about the future.
Yes, of course, plans ALWAYS change.
3. Touchstone of a 5 Year Plan
What is your DREAM for your LIFE?
What is your DREAM for your COMMUNITY?
What is your DREAM for your WORLD?
4. IMAGINE
Take a moment to visualize yourself 20 years from now….
Will you be in school?
Where will you live?
Who will be in your life?
What will your hobbies be?
What will be your professional role?
Where will you have traveled?
5. Step by step….
After visualizing your life in 20 years….
Where do you have to be 5 years from now?
In order to accomplish your dreams for your life, you need to………
Jump into action!
7. Dream for my life:
• In our 5 year action plan, we are going to consider the following:
Personal life
Professional goals
Our contribution to our island or country
Our contribution to the Planet
8. Let’s Dream BIG…
• Where will we be 5 years from today?
• What do we need to do in the upcoming years to accomplish our 5-year life
goal?
• Sometimes dreams might seem distant….
• But we need to take small and big steps toward them, otherwise they will
never happen.
9. Planning
• What do I need to do today to achieve my dreams and goals?
• What do I need to achieve this summer?
• What do I need to achieve in 6 months?
• What do I need to achieve in 1 year?
• What do I need to achieve in 5 years?
10. What if my dream changes?
It is perfectly normal for people to explore different paths.
Whenever you feel that your current life is unfulfilling, it’s time to re-think your
dreams and goals.
It might be time to remember two important facts:
Doing something we don’t like doesn’t mean we have to change our entire
plan.
Moving toward your dream goal, you might face challenges. One of these is
how to handle doing things we don’t like…
11. What if my dreams change?
Never lose your focus!
Ask yourself…
Is this temporary?
Is it necessary to achieve my goal?
