3. I decided to call it smooth as it related to the R&B genre. I used the font birth of a hero because this was shown to be most popular with my target audience. I decided to base my colours on blue and grey as my model was wearing these colours. I decided to create a selling line as this was a main convention in many magazines, and my selling line described what my magazine was about. I placed this right under my masthead and made the font “impact”. The colour was white so that it could be eye catching against the background. I included the issue number but instead of just writing it normally, I decided to write it inside a button as this looked more attractive and would catch the eyes of the readers especially as they would want to know which issue it is. I decided to make the background red as this was a bright colour which wasn’t used on the cover at all. With red, I thought that the white font would work well together. This was also in the font “impact.” I made another button at the bottom which said “win concert tickets”. I kept it the same colour, font and background. I thought this would really attract the readers especially being a button and including a competition with a prize up for grabs.
4. I created my cover line and explanatory text which related to the R&B genre. I used the font birth of a hero for the cover, and impact for the explanatory text. I decided to include a quote as I thought this would interest the reader into wanting to find out more. For my next cover and explanatory text, I decided to have my model credits for the artists used in the magazine. This also allowed the readers to know which artists are talked about inside, instead of having to flick through to find out. I used the font “impact” and decided to use both colours blue and white. On the cover line, I decided to use both bold and underlined to make it look interesting. For my main cover, I decided to include my models name as this is a main topic included in my magazine. The font for my cover line is birth of a hero so that it matches the masthead. The explanatory text is also white but font is impact. I have included a barcode, dateline, and price in the bottom left corner which is a main convention however I rotated the barcode. I decided on the price from the research I conducted so that I have a suitable price for them.
