Media convergence refers to the coming together of computing, telecommunications, and media in a digital environment. This convergence has implications for the content of communication becoming more nonlinear and interactive, relationships between media organizations and audiences becoming more reciprocal with both increased consumption and production, and the structure of communication organizations facing pressures from concentration of media ownership.
