At Dark Age Primary School, the children hated the boring lessons of listening to the teacher and copying from the blackboard. One day, a magical change occurred - the blackboard was replaced with an electronic whiteboard, books were replaced with computers, and the teacher became a learning manager. With technology integrated into lessons, the children could now be creative, play games, and collaborate online. The school was no longer called Dark Age Primary School but Digital Age Primary School, and the children enjoyed learning.
2. Once upon a time there was a school called Dark Age
Primary School.
3.
At Dark Age Primary School there
was a teacher. She used stand up
in front of the class and write all
sorts of things up on the
blackboard and expect the
children to listen to her all day.
4. The children hated school, it was sooooo boring. All they did
was read off the blackboard, listen to the teacher and write in
their notebooks. It was the same thing day after day after year
after year.
5. Then on one particular morning when the children
were dragging their feet to school and complaining
to their mums that they didn’t feel well and didn’t
want to go to school. Something magical
happened....
6. A huge gust of wind blew and the sky appeared
bluer, the sun shone brighter and now there was
a strange but exciting feeling in the air.
7. As the children entered the classroom they noticed the
blackboard was missing and in its place was an electronic
white board where stories, overheads and games could be
played. Their books were no longer on their desks but on
the book shelf and in their place sat portable computers
called notebooks.
8. The teacher was replaced by a learning manager and she began
by telling the class that today they were going to create their
own story, not using pens and paper but TECHNOLOGY, the
children looked around with smiles on their faces. They used
this at home and knew all about it, but never thought it could
be used at school especially for learning!
9. That day at school and the day after that and the year after and
for many, many more years after that, the children enjoyed
learning. They were able to be creative, play games, watch
videos be able to talk on line to other teachers, other children
and people outside the classroom even from other countries.
10. Now the children love going to school and learning. The School isn’t
called Dark Age Primary School anymore but Digital Age Primary School
and they all lived happily ever after.
The End.
