Draw a diagram or picture to explain how
our human past or history is connected to
who you are and the life you are living or
expect to live. Organize your diagram in any
way you want. If you like, you can use lines or
arrows to show connections or influences
among the different parts of your diagram.
You can draw your diagram by hand and then
photograph or scan it, or you can draw the
diagram electronically in any application you
like. Remember not to include your real name
in the diagram.
2nd footstep
FOTOMAN
My artist name is Fotoman and I made a diagram
which shows how the older people learned the
news. My grandpa likes telling me stories from his
past.
My grandpa is 77 years old and he told me that
when he was a child there weren’t any televisions,
computers or mobiles. The people learned what
happened around the world mostly from
newspapers and radio and from the discussions
among men in cafeterias.
Also the ladies sat outside the houses and
talked about the news which they heard from
the radio or they read on newspaper. The
ladies didn’t go to cafeteria those years. Also,
the telephone existed but not many people had
it. In the neighborhoods there was a telephone
in one shop, like coffee shop and people went
there when they wanted to call. They put a
coin inside the telephone and dialed the
number. Later people had television in their
houses and phones. The first televisions were
black and white.
They didn’t have the opportunity to watch
colorful movies. Also, televisions were huge
and there was only one channel. My mother
remembers the black and white TV. One day
her father brought a colorful tv and my
mother jumped from happiness. Day by day
technology has evolved a lot and now we are
very lucky because we have internet and we
can connect with our classmates who live in
other neighborhoods around the world. Also,
I look for information on internet, I send
messages to my friends or my relatives. I
can play electronic games, I can write
articles and generally I can do many things.
COBRA
In old years there weren’t any televisions and
children needed much money to buy expensive
games. Fortunately there weren’t many cars in
the streets so children played team games all
day. They played outside until night. They had
many toys like whirligig, wooden skateboard
bearings, catapult, hopscotch etc. Usually boys
had handmade catapult (wood and leather) and
they hunt birds or they put a goal on the trees
and they tried to achieve the goal. Also my
grandpa had got the toy: “taka-taka”. It had got
two wooden balls which were tied with two ropes.
Also my grandpa played with a wheel. He had a
wheel and a wood.
My mother played with her dolls. She
had Barbie’ s and Cindy’s granny. Its
name is Bibi Bo. She loved her doll and she
played with her all the time. She also had
short dolls, Efchoulides, which were very
ugly and plastic dolls. Also my parents
played with View Master. All the children
had these and they watched 3D movies.
Today I see 3D movies on TV or cinema
with 3D glasses. I have many and
expensive games like cars, play station,
lego etc. Also, I play many games on ipad
or on my computer.
LOVE STAR
I am Love Star (Smile Author, 1st
journey) and I would like to present to you
“my games”. I play many team games like
hopscotch, caravan doll. I play with my
dolls. I have many dolls. Most of the times
I play with my friends at school or on the
playground of my neighborhood. When my
mother was a child, she played many games
like elastic bank and hide and seek. My
father’s favorite games were football and
blind man’s buff.
My granny’s favorite games were skip
rope and hopscotch and my grandfather’s
games were “long donkey” and “marbles”.
The games pass from generation to
generation. We play the same games in a
different way while we don’t play some of
them any more. Last year we learned that in
ancient years children in Athens played
many games and some of them are still
played outdoors.
CURLY STAR
Since my grand’s ages until the ages of my
parents and mine the things have changed too
much about games.
When my grandfather was young played
outside with his friends. There were many
team games like “tag of war”. The children
were divided into two groups. One side of the
rope was held by half children and the other
by the other half. When the leader gave the
signal children began to pull the rope and the
group, who managed to pull opponents
towards them, won. Also, my granddad and his
friends played with “catapult”. They made it
with wood and plastic rubber or leather. Their
favorite games were “pentovola and the
wheel”.
In my parents’ ages children played
chase, hide and seek, hopscotch and the
“apples”. Apples is a very nice game. One
child is at one edge and another one at the
other. The other children are in the middle
and they try not to be touched by the ball
which the two children throw from the
edgess. It was their favorite game. Today we
play team games in the playgrounds like
football, volleyball, hide and seek, “apples”
etc or the girls play dolls and the boys play
cars, airplanes etc. Also we play with
electronic games, video games, play station.
BLOND DAISY
In my free time I play on my computer several
games and I watch children's movies. Also, I play
with my cash machine and sometimes my dolls.
When I finish my lessons I like drawing.
My father started playing football since he was a
kid. He loves football and he still plays with his
friends in his free time.
When my mother was a kid, she played many
team games like hide and seek, “apples”,
hopscotch, volleyball and “eftapetro”. Her
favorite game was skip rope.
My granddad played football from five years
old and he continued to play professionally when
he was a young man. Also, he played outside many
team games
like hide and seek, chase etc. He was a
very active child. My granny played dolls
and she made many handmade clothes to
decorate her future house. Her mother
taught her. She told me that she started
making them since she was eight years
old. Those years the girls had to learn to
make clothes, because they needed for
their marriage.
PLATO
I like to play with my friends and with my
brother team games like football, volleyball
but also I like playing with my toy-cars and
electronic games on my computer. Also, I
love play station. Sometimes I play with my
mom and my brother board games. My
mother loves board games. When she was a
child, she played board games with her
friends and hide and seek, chase, skip rope,
hopscotch etc. My father played chess, ball
and marbles. As you can see the games travel
through the ages. Some of them disappeared
and some continue until these days. My
grandfather loved to play cards and ball.
VIRGINIA ELYTI
My grandfather was born in the 30s
and my grandmother 40s. Everyday life
has changed since then but there are
some common things from then like phone,
television, radio, letters, cassettes. Today
we have all those and more like internet,
tablet, ipad, mp3, mp4, mobiles,
computers, youtube, facebook, cd, dvd
etc. Today children use all these modern
things to learn, to find information, to
communicate with their friends, to call, to
write, to have fun etc.
FANTASY WORLD
Hello my friends. I love toys like puzzle,
minecraft, nerf, lego and also I play many
games on my tablet. I play every day
electronic games. Also I play team games with
my friends in my school. My parents like board
games and many times we play all together.
Also, when my parents were children played
electronic games, board games. My mom had
dolls and fake forks, spoons, plates, cups and
she pretended that she was a housekeeper
and cooked or offered coffee or tea to her
friends. My grandparents loved games like
cycling, ball, marbles. Also, they collected lids
from bottles and they played with these.
SLOW STAR
The old toys aren’t like the new one.
The old toys were made with wood, cotton
or with old clothes. Some families didn’t
have money so their children made their
toys with natural products. Also, children
played freely in the roads, because that
time there weren’t any cars, specially in
the villages. So, children played many
team games in the streets. They played
hide and seek, “apples”, volleyball, skip
rope, hopscotch, plastic bank, chase etc
Later my parents played more modern
games. My parents didn’t make their toys but
they bought them from the toy shops.
Except for their parents’, team games, they
played also and other games like rollers,
subbuto, bricks, lego, play mobile, etc.
Nowadays, children play older games
which they know them from their parents
but they play with electronic games too. For
example when I can’t play outside, I play on
my tablet. When the weather is nice then I
play outside with my friends many games like
hide and seek, chase, “apples”, ball etc.
VASKAL
There are many games from older years
which we play also today like football,
volleyball, hide and seek, “apples”, skip rope,
hopscotch, plastic bank, chase, etc. Also,
there were some team games which children
played but we don’t play them anymore. Now
we have more games like electronics games,
play station, board games etc. Also, we have
many choices on computer. We can play
knowledge games, strategy games. Also, we
play electronics games during the lessons in
our class and the lesson is more interesting
than before. We made also a blog and we
write articles about environmental and the
animals in danger. I like it when our lesson is
like a game.
ANTONALDO
My granddad played with handmade toys
or he played team games with his friends.
Electronics games replace the team games on
the streets. My father played football in the
court. He liked going out and playing with his
friends. We don’t have so much time, because
in the morning we are at school, in the
afternoon we go to English school or French or
Germany school because we must learn foreign
languages. Also, we go swimming or follow
other sports because we must do something
for our body.
When I have free time I like playing
football with my friends. Also I like playing
electronics games on my tablet or my
computer.
EXPLORER
I love games so I did a diagram with
toys and games. I like playing with toy-
cars, airplane and UNP. My best team
game is hide and seek. My mother played
more team games like hide and seek and
volley ball and she liked mermaid. My
father liked only volleyball. I asked my
grandparents and they told me that they
had the same team games but they didn’t
have many toys.
SUNBEAM
I did a thorought research about the
games and toys. I asked my grandparents
and my parents. My grandparents told me
that they didn’t buy toys but they made
them with simple materials which they
found them in the nature. My parents
played team games like volleyball,
basketball, football and with toys like car,
dolls, airplane etc. Today I play many
team games with my friends like
volleyball, hide and seek, hopscotch but I
also play many electronic games.

Last week my mom and I went to a museum
that had an exhibition with objects which
people used in previous years but they don’t use
anymore. It was amazing. I saw old toys, an
old bus, a computer, a motorbike, a telephone,
shampoo, magazines, encyclopedias (now we use
internet), old movies, a pickup, a fax,
videotapes, now we have dvd’s. There were so
many toys. I liked toys and magazines, comics
and the old bus. I wonder if my kids will play
with the same toys like me or they will have
different and how they will be.
THE BLOND ROSE
Family yesterday and
today
In classical times, the
position of women in the
family appears as the one
who was dedicated to the
household and raising
children. The woman
should not care about what
happened outside home or
she didn’t discuss a lot
with her husband. The
Kingdom of the woman was
the home. She had the
keys of warehouse and
cellar and she was entitled
to prepare the food for
her family.
Today, in developed economic
and cultural country like ours,
man and woman are equal in the
family and they decide together
on all issues. The basis of the
modern family are mutual
respect, mutual understanding
and love. Parents are responsible
for housework, family income,
education of children but also
that is depending on the
conditions of each family.
BREAK DANCE
I am from Albania. My grandparents
had not many toys but they played team
games outdoors.
My mother played with her friends
hide and seek. My father played football.
I play many games with my friends like
football, basketball, hide and seek, chase
and we do many races. Also I have many
toys like cars, airplanes and plugs. Also, I
play many electronic games.
THE GLANCE
In the time of our great grandparents they
didn’t buy toys. They made them with materials
which found on the streets like tsoufli which
they made it with an old wheel from
wheelbarrow and a piece of wood. Girls made
dolls from clothes.
In the time of my grandparents girls played
with porcelain dolls and boys played with wood
cars.
Time by time the toys change and they
become elaborate. Today all the kids play more
with electronic games and they continue playing
team games from the past with different way.
GeorgeMan
I love games so I did a diagram with toys
and games. I like playing football and chase
with my friends in school. Also I like playing
play station. This year I learn bouzouki, it is
a Greek musical instrument.
My granny made dolls with simple materials
and she played with her sisters. My
granddad when he was a kid played football
in earthy streets of his neighborhood. He
made his ball from his socks. He, also, played
team games with his friends outdoors like
chase, hide and seek, pinakoti and other
team games of the season.
He liked fishing with his friends and
swimming. He played after work, because
those years the life was very hard, so he
worked to help his family.
My mother played many team games
like hide and seek, chase, swing e.t.c. She
also liked playing with her dolls and
marbles.
My father loved playing team games
like football, ambariza, hide and seek,
chase e.t.c.

  • 1. OUT OF EDEN LEARN JOURNEY 2 2TH FOOTSTEP 54o ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF PIRAEUS, CLASS C2. School year 2017
  • 2. Draw a diagram or picture to explain how our human past or history is connected to who you are and the life you are living or expect to live. Organize your diagram in any way you want. If you like, you can use lines or arrows to show connections or influences among the different parts of your diagram. You can draw your diagram by hand and then photograph or scan it, or you can draw the diagram electronically in any application you like. Remember not to include your real name in the diagram. 2nd footstep
  • 4. My artist name is Fotoman and I made a diagram which shows how the older people learned the news. My grandpa likes telling me stories from his past. My grandpa is 77 years old and he told me that when he was a child there weren’t any televisions, computers or mobiles. The people learned what happened around the world mostly from newspapers and radio and from the discussions among men in cafeterias.
  • 5. Also the ladies sat outside the houses and talked about the news which they heard from the radio or they read on newspaper. The ladies didn’t go to cafeteria those years. Also, the telephone existed but not many people had it. In the neighborhoods there was a telephone in one shop, like coffee shop and people went there when they wanted to call. They put a coin inside the telephone and dialed the number. Later people had television in their houses and phones. The first televisions were black and white.
  • 6. They didn’t have the opportunity to watch colorful movies. Also, televisions were huge and there was only one channel. My mother remembers the black and white TV. One day her father brought a colorful tv and my mother jumped from happiness. Day by day technology has evolved a lot and now we are very lucky because we have internet and we can connect with our classmates who live in other neighborhoods around the world. Also, I look for information on internet, I send messages to my friends or my relatives. I can play electronic games, I can write articles and generally I can do many things.
  • 8. In old years there weren’t any televisions and children needed much money to buy expensive games. Fortunately there weren’t many cars in the streets so children played team games all day. They played outside until night. They had many toys like whirligig, wooden skateboard bearings, catapult, hopscotch etc. Usually boys had handmade catapult (wood and leather) and they hunt birds or they put a goal on the trees and they tried to achieve the goal. Also my grandpa had got the toy: “taka-taka”. It had got two wooden balls which were tied with two ropes. Also my grandpa played with a wheel. He had a wheel and a wood.
  • 9. My mother played with her dolls. She had Barbie’ s and Cindy’s granny. Its name is Bibi Bo. She loved her doll and she played with her all the time. She also had short dolls, Efchoulides, which were very ugly and plastic dolls. Also my parents played with View Master. All the children had these and they watched 3D movies. Today I see 3D movies on TV or cinema with 3D glasses. I have many and expensive games like cars, play station, lego etc. Also, I play many games on ipad or on my computer.
  • 11. I am Love Star (Smile Author, 1st journey) and I would like to present to you “my games”. I play many team games like hopscotch, caravan doll. I play with my dolls. I have many dolls. Most of the times I play with my friends at school or on the playground of my neighborhood. When my mother was a child, she played many games like elastic bank and hide and seek. My father’s favorite games were football and blind man’s buff.
  • 12. My granny’s favorite games were skip rope and hopscotch and my grandfather’s games were “long donkey” and “marbles”. The games pass from generation to generation. We play the same games in a different way while we don’t play some of them any more. Last year we learned that in ancient years children in Athens played many games and some of them are still played outdoors.
  • 14. Since my grand’s ages until the ages of my parents and mine the things have changed too much about games. When my grandfather was young played outside with his friends. There were many team games like “tag of war”. The children were divided into two groups. One side of the rope was held by half children and the other by the other half. When the leader gave the signal children began to pull the rope and the group, who managed to pull opponents towards them, won. Also, my granddad and his friends played with “catapult”. They made it with wood and plastic rubber or leather. Their favorite games were “pentovola and the wheel”.
  • 15. In my parents’ ages children played chase, hide and seek, hopscotch and the “apples”. Apples is a very nice game. One child is at one edge and another one at the other. The other children are in the middle and they try not to be touched by the ball which the two children throw from the edgess. It was their favorite game. Today we play team games in the playgrounds like football, volleyball, hide and seek, “apples” etc or the girls play dolls and the boys play cars, airplanes etc. Also we play with electronic games, video games, play station.
  • 17. In my free time I play on my computer several games and I watch children's movies. Also, I play with my cash machine and sometimes my dolls. When I finish my lessons I like drawing. My father started playing football since he was a kid. He loves football and he still plays with his friends in his free time. When my mother was a kid, she played many team games like hide and seek, “apples”, hopscotch, volleyball and “eftapetro”. Her favorite game was skip rope. My granddad played football from five years old and he continued to play professionally when he was a young man. Also, he played outside many team games
  • 18. like hide and seek, chase etc. He was a very active child. My granny played dolls and she made many handmade clothes to decorate her future house. Her mother taught her. She told me that she started making them since she was eight years old. Those years the girls had to learn to make clothes, because they needed for their marriage.
  • 19. PLATO
  • 20. I like to play with my friends and with my brother team games like football, volleyball but also I like playing with my toy-cars and electronic games on my computer. Also, I love play station. Sometimes I play with my mom and my brother board games. My mother loves board games. When she was a child, she played board games with her friends and hide and seek, chase, skip rope, hopscotch etc. My father played chess, ball and marbles. As you can see the games travel through the ages. Some of them disappeared and some continue until these days. My grandfather loved to play cards and ball.
  • 22. My grandfather was born in the 30s and my grandmother 40s. Everyday life has changed since then but there are some common things from then like phone, television, radio, letters, cassettes. Today we have all those and more like internet, tablet, ipad, mp3, mp4, mobiles, computers, youtube, facebook, cd, dvd etc. Today children use all these modern things to learn, to find information, to communicate with their friends, to call, to write, to have fun etc.
  • 24. Hello my friends. I love toys like puzzle, minecraft, nerf, lego and also I play many games on my tablet. I play every day electronic games. Also I play team games with my friends in my school. My parents like board games and many times we play all together. Also, when my parents were children played electronic games, board games. My mom had dolls and fake forks, spoons, plates, cups and she pretended that she was a housekeeper and cooked or offered coffee or tea to her friends. My grandparents loved games like cycling, ball, marbles. Also, they collected lids from bottles and they played with these.
  • 26. The old toys aren’t like the new one. The old toys were made with wood, cotton or with old clothes. Some families didn’t have money so their children made their toys with natural products. Also, children played freely in the roads, because that time there weren’t any cars, specially in the villages. So, children played many team games in the streets. They played hide and seek, “apples”, volleyball, skip rope, hopscotch, plastic bank, chase etc
  • 27. Later my parents played more modern games. My parents didn’t make their toys but they bought them from the toy shops. Except for their parents’, team games, they played also and other games like rollers, subbuto, bricks, lego, play mobile, etc. Nowadays, children play older games which they know them from their parents but they play with electronic games too. For example when I can’t play outside, I play on my tablet. When the weather is nice then I play outside with my friends many games like hide and seek, chase, “apples”, ball etc.
  • 29. There are many games from older years which we play also today like football, volleyball, hide and seek, “apples”, skip rope, hopscotch, plastic bank, chase, etc. Also, there were some team games which children played but we don’t play them anymore. Now we have more games like electronics games, play station, board games etc. Also, we have many choices on computer. We can play knowledge games, strategy games. Also, we play electronics games during the lessons in our class and the lesson is more interesting than before. We made also a blog and we write articles about environmental and the animals in danger. I like it when our lesson is like a game.
  • 31. My granddad played with handmade toys or he played team games with his friends. Electronics games replace the team games on the streets. My father played football in the court. He liked going out and playing with his friends. We don’t have so much time, because in the morning we are at school, in the afternoon we go to English school or French or Germany school because we must learn foreign languages. Also, we go swimming or follow other sports because we must do something for our body. When I have free time I like playing football with my friends. Also I like playing electronics games on my tablet or my computer.
  • 33. I love games so I did a diagram with toys and games. I like playing with toy- cars, airplane and UNP. My best team game is hide and seek. My mother played more team games like hide and seek and volley ball and she liked mermaid. My father liked only volleyball. I asked my grandparents and they told me that they had the same team games but they didn’t have many toys.
  • 35. I did a thorought research about the games and toys. I asked my grandparents and my parents. My grandparents told me that they didn’t buy toys but they made them with simple materials which they found them in the nature. My parents played team games like volleyball, basketball, football and with toys like car, dolls, airplane etc. Today I play many team games with my friends like volleyball, hide and seek, hopscotch but I also play many electronic games.
  • 40. JORDAN Last week my mom and I went to a museum that had an exhibition with objects which people used in previous years but they don’t use anymore. It was amazing. I saw old toys, an old bus, a computer, a motorbike, a telephone, shampoo, magazines, encyclopedias (now we use internet), old movies, a pickup, a fax, videotapes, now we have dvd’s. There were so many toys. I liked toys and magazines, comics and the old bus. I wonder if my kids will play with the same toys like me or they will have different and how they will be.
  • 42. Family yesterday and today In classical times, the position of women in the family appears as the one who was dedicated to the household and raising children. The woman should not care about what happened outside home or she didn’t discuss a lot with her husband. The Kingdom of the woman was the home. She had the keys of warehouse and cellar and she was entitled to prepare the food for her family.
  • 43. Today, in developed economic and cultural country like ours, man and woman are equal in the family and they decide together on all issues. The basis of the modern family are mutual respect, mutual understanding and love. Parents are responsible for housework, family income, education of children but also that is depending on the conditions of each family.
  • 45. I am from Albania. My grandparents had not many toys but they played team games outdoors. My mother played with her friends hide and seek. My father played football. I play many games with my friends like football, basketball, hide and seek, chase and we do many races. Also I have many toys like cars, airplanes and plugs. Also, I play many electronic games.
  • 47. In the time of our great grandparents they didn’t buy toys. They made them with materials which found on the streets like tsoufli which they made it with an old wheel from wheelbarrow and a piece of wood. Girls made dolls from clothes. In the time of my grandparents girls played with porcelain dolls and boys played with wood cars. Time by time the toys change and they become elaborate. Today all the kids play more with electronic games and they continue playing team games from the past with different way.
  • 49. I love games so I did a diagram with toys and games. I like playing football and chase with my friends in school. Also I like playing play station. This year I learn bouzouki, it is a Greek musical instrument. My granny made dolls with simple materials and she played with her sisters. My granddad when he was a kid played football in earthy streets of his neighborhood. He made his ball from his socks. He, also, played team games with his friends outdoors like chase, hide and seek, pinakoti and other team games of the season.
  • 50. He liked fishing with his friends and swimming. He played after work, because those years the life was very hard, so he worked to help his family. My mother played many team games like hide and seek, chase, swing e.t.c. She also liked playing with her dolls and marbles. My father loved playing team games like football, ambariza, hide and seek, chase e.t.c.
