Technical conventions
Point of view: you see shots through
the monsters eye
Handheld: the feel of terror panic
and of the unknown.
There are extreme close ups of the
victims
A mix of high and low angles
showing dominance and power or
innocence and inferiority.
Diagetic and non diagetic sound are
used like footsteps or screams.
4. LOCATION USED
Horror films are filmed in dark
lonley places that have a bad vibe
about them, like abandoned houses,
the woods, houses in the country
side, narrow alleyways, mental
heath hospitals etc.
Isolated towns, churches or old
buildings
5. PROPS
The antagonist usually either uses
stabing items, sharp objects or
sometimes nothing at all
The victims will use weapons
including guns to try and save
themselves although it doesnt
normally help them.
The victims deaths are normally
slow painfull and traumatic
6. TYPES OF CHARACTERS
The protagonists being the villain
and the person trying to escape the
villain.

they shouldnt
