2. PHOTOSHOP
I have learnt that Photoshop is a very effective
program for making a magazine due to it’s wide
range of functions and its so easy to use. I can
tell from analyzing other Kerrang magazine that
they use Photoshop because of the similar text
boxes and quality. I have improved my skills
finding out new methods of applying effects to
enhance images for example the cog on my
front cover. I have also learnt small techniques
in Photoshop like how to manipulate layers in a
certain way to create a good overlapping
technique. Overall I have learnt that Photoshop
is an affective program when used in media and
one that I would advise to anyone who is
creating their magazine.

3. CAMERA
Through using cameras in media for my
photography I have learnt some basic
aspects of picture taking. I have
experienced different lighting issues
which I found with some of my photos
and how to avoid this problem. I learnt
the best way to get higher quality photos
through different methods of transferring
these images. I have seen how much of
an impact photography has in media
especially magazines as the images on
magazines can make them good or bad.
The content of magazines doesn’t mean
a thing as long as the images are of a
high quality to attract the reader.

4. FONT SPACE
I have used font space a lot in my
magazine using a range of different
fonts that people have created. I learnt
the importance of effective fonts while
creating my magazine and I changed
some fronts throughout production as
I decided other where more
conventional. I discovered which fonts
were more effective for different parts
of my magazine. I would use font
space again in my work as it is easy to
use and there is a variety of custom
made fonts available.

5. MOBILE PHONE
I used my mobile phone in my media for
some later photos which were not
planned but I decided had to be added
to my magazine. My mobile phone
produced high quality photos and I
learnt my mobile phone was a device
capable of taking high resolution
photos. Not my preferred device over a
camera but showed me that it can be
used for media and a lot of modern
phones can be used for production.
