A Day That Changed Our Lives. What Was The Day That Changed
A Day That Changed Our Lives What Was The Day That Changed Our Lives? It was on a Tuesday
morning September 11, 2001 other wise known as 9–11. That was a terrible day for everyone, there
were thousands of lives lost due to an attack by Islamic Terrorists group Al–Qaeda. Throughout my
essay I'm going to discuss more on what happened on this day. Tuesday Morning September 11,
2001 it was a serene morning everyone on there way to work the weather was nice, all until at
8:45am a plane Flight eleven crashes in the north tower of the world trade center. The impact left a
gaping hole near the 80th floor and the 110th, it killed and trapped hundreds of people due to the
fire. Then fifteen to twenty minutes later at 9:03 the second plane Flight ... Show more content on

Administration (FAA) alerts North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)'s Northeast
Air Defense Sector (NEADS) about the suspected hijacking of Flight 11. In response, NEADS
scrambles two fighter planes located at Cape Cod's Otis Air National Guard Base to locate and tail
Flight 11; they are not yet in the air when Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower. 8:41 am – United
Airlines Flight 93, a Boeing 757 with 44 people aboard, takes off from Newark International Airport

A Boeing 767 containing approximately twenty thousand gallons of jet fuel flew into the North
tower of the World Trade Center in New York City on a pristine morning at 8:45 a.m. on September
11, 2001. The collision left a giant opening close to the eightieth floor of the one hundred ten story
skyscraper, abruptly ending hundreds of people's lives and trapping hundreds more in the floors
above. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin– the South Tower– got underway by the local
authorities, television news channels broadcasted live images of what at first appeared to be a freak
accident. Then, eighteen minutes after the initial plane crashed into the tower, a second Boeing 767–
United Airlines Flight 175–appeared out of the sky, turned sharply ... Show more content on

These terrorists were funded by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden's al–Qaeda terrorist organization.
They were allegedly responding in vengeance for the United States of America's support of Israel,
its sustained military occupancy of the Middle East, and its engagement in the Persian Gulf War.
Several of the terrorists had resided in the United States of America for approximately a year and
had attended the American commercial flight schools to learn how to fly a plane. Others had
smuggled themselves into the country months prior to the September 11 attacks and helped carry out
the operation. The nineteen radical Islamic terrorists effortlessly slipped knives and box–cutters
straight past security at three different airports on the East Coast and boarded four flights bound for
California. These flights were selected for the reason that the aircrafts were weighted with fuel for
the long journey across the country. Shortly after the planes took off, the terrorists hijacked the four
planes and made their way to the cockpit to control them. This transformed typical commuter
airplanes into deadly guided missiles. As millions of people witnessed the events happening in New
York, American Airlines Flight 77 flew around downtown Washington, D.C., and crashed into the
west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 a.m. Jet fuel from the Boeing 757 caused a

Essay On World Trade Center Collapse
Summary
This interim report details the work so far completed, for the 3rd year project entitled 'World Trade
Center collapse – Investigation into the collapse sequence'. The said project is almost at its
midpoint, and therefore allows for a balanced analysis of the Project, and how successful it has
proved so far. This report succeeds the 'Project Proposal', which may be referred to at points in this
up to date report. Some sections found in the 'Project Proposal' have been reviewed in this
document, in conjunction to this, new sections have been introduced such as results to date. It is
hoped that in that this report will give a clear and concise illustration to the reader as to how this
project has gone so far, and the direction the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The four main Structural Subsystems were as such: Exterior columns taking vertical loads, Interior
core Columns which carried vertical loads through the core and protected lift shafts, Composite
Truss system which allowed for larger areas of floor space to be created between the exterior
columns and the core, and the Hat Truss on top of both WTC1 and WTC2 designed to redistribute
the load applied on top of the respective roofs' through the columns more equally (McAllister,
Sadek, Gross, Averill, & Gann, 2013). . For further background information relating to the
Structural systems, please refer to the Proposal Report.
This Project will improve the Students own Engineering judgement and critical thinking skills. With
different parts of the project having specific benefits to respective components of making a good
Structural Engineer; these components are perhaps best expressed in the Section 2 of this report, as
it shows progress so far. Predominantly the first part of the project revolves around making
assumptions and simplifications of the structural model and its loading; to try and find the most
accurate, yet computationally efficient, building blocks from which the results will be found after an
impact damage is inputted to the model. The Second part of this project will concern the collapse
sequence of the WTC after the plane impact occurred, and the resulting re–distribution of load

Conspiracy Theories Around 9-11
The worst terrorist attack in U.S history occurred on September 11, 2001. According to U.S
government officials, nineteen men hijacked four fuel–loaded commercial planes with the intent to
destroy the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as both the Pentagon and the White
House in Washington D.C. The attacks began at 8:46am ET when American Airline's Flight 11
struck the North tower of the World Trade Center, causing chaos on the streets below. Not even
twenty minutes later, another commercial plane, United Airlines Flight 175, struck the south tower.
Americans and people all over the world watched helplessly as the action on the East Coast
unfolded. Any American old enough to remember can most likely tell you exactly where he or ...

One MSNBC reporter, who was actually inside the north tower after the plane struck, stated "I heard
a second explosion...And then a fire marshal came in and said we had to leave, because if there was
a third explosion this building might not last" (Bombs and Explosions in the WTC 1). This quote not
only tells us that there was a possible explosion inside the World Trade Center, but that there seem
to have been more than one. If the collapse of the towers really was a controlled demolition as it
looked like to many, this would mean that a lot of premeditated work to place explosives would
have had to occur. Seeing as very few people have access to every place of the World Trade Center,
it does seem likely that some government cooperation would have been needed to make it happen.
Many researchers claim that the explosions heard in and around the World Trade Center could have
been from exploding electrical transformers. They say that the heat from the fire was too much for
the transformers and caused explosions throughout the building. Author of George Washington's
Blog had this to say about the topic: "Well, if exploding transformers caused these sounds and the
collapse of the Twin Towers, why didn't we hear the same things and see the collapse of the
buildings in Madrid, Venezuela, Los Angeles and elsewhere which burned hotter and

The War On The World Trade Center
The U.S. soil had previously been unaffected by any type of foreign attack until the turn of the 21st
century which marked a pivotal point. On September 11, 2001, the attack on the World Trade Center
profoundly changed not only U.S. domestic and foreign policies but the world. The research
conducted in this paper will explore the incidents that occurred on the terrorist attack that destroyed
the Twin Towers and devastated the World Trade Center in New York. Many had threatened the U.S.
but none have previously been successful. The impact of 9/11 introduced a new reform that included
war on terrorism worldwide such as the deployment of U.S. military over seas as a result, the
advancement of Homeland Security and subsidiary agencies, the ... Show more content on

The six conspirators linked to the bombing were arrested and sentenced up to 240 years each. In
1995, Yousef who was directly related to other orchestrated terrorist attacks, had organized an attack
involving 11 international flights in route to the United States from foreign countries by detonating
bombs concurrently. One of the most motivating factors that led up to the September 11, 2001 attack
was the involvement of the United States with foreign policies in the Middle East. This new
implementation of direction and counterterrorism reform policies, derived by the United States
appealed to the Extremist group known as Al Queda, which conspired in the proceedings that
occurred on September 11, 2001 to become recognized.
The shocking actions of September 11, commanded an awakening of the average American from the
false sense of security, trusting that the United States is untouchable from chaos and destruction
imposed upon by foreign enemies. It was on a Tuesday morning at 8:46 a.m., the skies were
flawlessly clear and sunny with calm waters surrounding Manhattan. An American Airliner, a

World Trade Center Collapse Case Study
So many changes had come about when the World Trade Center collapsed. Engineers and design
teams all across the country came together and wanted to make changes to buildings they build
today to reduce to number of fatalities and to have more means of egress in case of an emergency.
Not even years after the terriorist attacks, they came up with some changes that would help out the
situation and came up with some new safety regulations. Some of them include additional stairways
in buildings. More stairways in buildings is great when buildings exceed more than 1,000 plus
people inside a building at one time. Having just one or two stairwells and having 1,000 plus people
exiting will sometimes cause a hold up in getting out. Having more inside

Tuesday Morning On September 11Th, 2001 There Were A Series
Tuesday morning on September 11th, 2001 there were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks
by the Islamic terrorist group al–Qaeda on the United States. The attack had killed 2,996 innocent
people injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least ten billion in property and infrastructure
damage and three trillion in total cost. Nineteen al–Qaeda terrorist had stole four passenger airliners
operated by U.S. passenger air carriers. Two of the planes were crashed into the north and south
towers, respectively, of the World Trade Center in New York City. Within an hour and fourty–five
minutes the twin towers the stood 110 feet high had already collapsed. The third plane was crashed
into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia leading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost 10,000 others were treated for injuries, many severe. Meanwhile, a fourth California–bound
plane United Flight 93, was hijacked about 40 minutes after leaving NEwark International Airport in
New Jersey. Because the plane had been delayed in taking off, passengers on board learned of
events in New York and Washington via cell phone and Airfone calls to the ground. Knowing that
the aircraft was not returning to an airport as the hijackers claimed, a group of passengers and flight
attendants planned an insurrection. One of the passengers, Thomas Burnett Jr., told his wife over the
phone that "I know we're all going to die. There's three of us who are going to do something about
it. I love you, honey." Another passenger, Todd Beamer, was heard saying "Are you guys ready?
LEt's roll" over an open line. Sandy Bradshaw, a flight attendant, called her husband and explained
that she had slipped into a galley and was filling pitchers with boiling water. Her last words to him
were "Everyone's running to first class. I've got to go. Bye." The passengers fought the four
hijackers and are suspected to have attacked the cockpit with a fire extinguisher. The plane then
flipped over and sped toward the ground at upwards of 500 miles per hour, crashing in a rural field
in western Pennsylvania at 10:10 a.m. All 45 people aboard were killed. Its intended target is not
known, but theories include the White House, the U.S.

How Did The Collapse Of The World Trade Center Towers
Collapse of the World Trade Center towers was a dramatic and sudden incident that shocked the
entire world, (Koening, 2001). Nearly everyone was shocked at the complete destruction of such a
massive building. A widespread speculation continues to grow among the public as what actually
caused the collapse. Surrounding the speculations are beliefs, such as poor structural design, which
fire suppression equipment failed to work, and steels of columns melted. This essay attempts to
quantify the collapse. There exists an ethical issue regarding how the World Trade Towers building
was put up. In their line of professional duty, Engineers are supposed to uphold the paramount
safety, welfare and health of the public about their work. With a critical review to the collapse of the
building, it presents the use of illusion of validity. Vividly, general investigation conclusion that the
World of Trade Towers was built successfully fully exploits the potentiality of using the illusion of
effectiveness by Kahneman. More specifically it relates to the Bomber Command who defended
each one as a comrade. About this, the investigating bodies fail to recognize the ... Show more

The design performance was not a perfect ramification of what happened years later. By design, the
redundant structure, for example, was to ensure that if two columns collapse, then the load would
shift to the adjacent ones. These proved not to be the case when the planes hit the building. While
experts hold different views to what would have caused the collapse, they are both using System
One analysis method, which is based on the intuition from the human reasoning and fear of the
repercussions. On the other hand, System Two forms judgment based on critical examination of
evidence (Dyson, 2011). One can argue that during 2001, designers would successfully predict the

Why Did 9/11 Happen
September 11th, 2001 is a day darkened by tragedy. This day is remembered for one of the biggest
terrorist attacks the United States has ever faced on American soil. The 9/11 attacks left many hearts
broken and heads spinning about the events that occurred. I personally have been very skeptical
about the official version of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. There are a few reasons that
made me question what started a war that has become the longest war in American History. This
paper will dive into the facts behind the events of this day to uncover the truth behind what occurred
that day. Some of the major aspects I will be examining are the hard facts of September 11th, who
was responsible for these attacks, the political repercussions, ... Show more content on

Planted explosives in the buildings would be able to make this pattern of falling possible. There is a
group of 2,500 architects and engineers, of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, that concur that
the evidence found at the collapse site as well as the way in which the buildings fell suggests a
controlled demolition was involved in the collapse of the buildings. The key factor that changed
their minds, and mine, is the fall pattern concerning Building 7 of the World Trade Center. Building
7 was a headquarters of the C.I.A., and it was this building that fell in only 7 seconds. The same
engineers and architects from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth also concluded that how this
building came down matches the fall pattern of a controlled demolition. After watching the video of
the collapse of Building 7 and a video of a controlled demolition, I saw that the buildings fell in
identical patterns. NIST released a report and held a press conference to try to explain Building 7's
collapse. NIST stated that the building had been damaged by office fires and that is what caused the
building to collapse, though Fire Protection Engineer Scott Grainger states that "high rise buildings
simply do not collapse due to fire" (Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth: Science of 9/11, 2017).
When I saw the video of the building collapsing there were squibs, dust clouds, being shot out of the
building in a synchronized manner that was similar to the controlled demolition video. The middle
of the building was the first part of the building to begin collapse, followed by the rest of the
building. This second part of the collapse would occur milliseconds behind the first, which
contradicts the recreation of the building collapse NIST produced. Their recreation shows the
corners of the building falling inward, which the actual

Causes And Effects Of 9 / 11
It is the morning of September 11, 2001, it is just a normal sunny day in New York City. All of a
sudden a commercial airline is seen flying low to the ground on the horizon. Boom! The city starts
to shake. That commercial airline has crashed into the World Trade Center. The tower is engulfed
with flames, many of the people at the top of the tower are stuck. This Tuesday morning will change
the lives of many people. After this horrific attack, a terrorist organization known as Al qaeda took
responsibility for the attack a month or so later. The steel frames of the buildings lost some of their
structural strength from the burning of the jet fuel when the planes hit. The support beams in the
tower were cut by the commercial airplane which was another factor to the collapse of this building.
These three points prove why 9/11 was a catastrophic event, that should be known as the destruction
that came from a terrorist organization which used commercial airlines to destroy their targets.
On that morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a tragic accident occurred. There were 2,753
victims from the collapsing of the World Trade center. Only 60% of those victims have been
identified. The group responsible for this event was a terrorist organization known as Al Qaeda. Al
Qaeda is a terrorist organization from the Middle East based in Afghanistan. Al qaeda had a small

everywhere possible including the areas of homeland security, national defense, and in the private
sector. Tourism in New York City plummeted affected the attacks. This caused a massive loss in a
sector which employed 280,000 people and generated $25 billion per year. Hotel occupancy fell
below 40% and 3,000 employees were laid off in the week following the attacks. (Wiki–
Economics, History.com) Health effects of the September 11, 2001 attacks were almost non–
existent at first, but years and years of study showed that people who worked around the debris from
long periods of time are much more likely to develop PTSD. Some heart conditions and respiratory
disease have been linked to the September 11, 2001 attacks, but nothing has been proven. Some
mental illness exists as a result of the attacks, but 80% of the mental illness was caused from being
hit in the head with debris or from actually falling with the tower. (NYC Health) As a result of the
September 11, 2001 attacks we invaded Afghanistan and started a war with Iraq as well. These wars
affected the culture of our nation greatly! Families were split as loved ones were lost in that war.
Roughly 3.1 million Americans entered military service between 2001 and 2011. Nearly 2 million
soldiers were deployed in that time and more than 6,000 American troops were killed. Roughly

The September 11th Conspiracy Essay
On September 11, 2001, the United States media provided Americans with false news reports and
concealed the truth of 9–11 which brought about an illegal war in the Middle East. The attacks were
put in place to deter people's thoughts and this way the United States could steal oil while maintain
public hatred against the Middle East and terrorism. By keeping the public in fear, they could
control the public. The U.S. therefore created a false enemy, also known as terrorists, to unite the
American people against that enemy, and therefore they will become the puppets that the U.S. can

(www.whatreallyhappened.com) If one was to compare the videos to other planned demolition, the
building falls in the exact physical way. Larry Silverstein, the owner of the World Trade Center
complex, admitted on a September 2002 PBS documentary, "America Rebuilds" that he and the
FDNY "decided to pull WTC 7 on the day of the attack" (www.prisonplanet.com). By this, he meant
that they decided to demolish the tower. But this news is shocking because controlled demolition of
that accuracy and safety requires months of planning. It means that it may have been planned
demolition. In February of 2002 Silverstein Properties won $861 million from Industrial Risk
Insurers to rebuild on the site of World Trade Center 7 (www.prisonplanet.com). Silverstein
Properties' estimated investment in World Trade Center 7 was $386 million
(www.prisonplanet.com). In effect, the collapse of World Trade Center 7 left Larry $500 million in
profit. When buildings are demolished, the explosives are placed in the central column, so the
structure falls inwards and does not damage other surrounding buildings
(www.whatreallyhappened.com). The only way the building can fall like this or fall period is
through the use of explosives (www.whatreallyhappened.com). What this signifies is that someone
had to have known of the attacks months prior. The World Trade Center is full of surveillance
cameras and is monitored all day long for theft and security purposes

the north tower, at 12:18 the bomb exploded (World Trade Center – Anatomy of the Collapse). This
explosion killed six, and injured 1,000, 5,00 were evacuated because of smoke inhalation. The
explosion left a 60 by 60–foot crater, and cause 500 million dollars in damage (History.com Staff).

The Evidence Surrounding the 9/11 World Trade Center...
On September 11, 2001 four passenger commercial jet airliners were hijacked and as a result
approximately 3,000 human lives were lost. When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what
they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center
(WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a
travesty. The "official story" provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of "9/11
Mysteries: Demolitions" say that "four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off
course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World
Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them" (Shafquat). ... Show more content on

Dr. Steven Jones, a well known physicist and archaeometrist, disagrees; he admits that this could not
have been possible due to the laws of physics (28). He claims a delay would be expected between
each dropped floor, taking longer for the building to collapse. Shafquat reinforces Jones's and uses
the computer claim by stating that "pancake floors would lose speed." Jones discusses the idea that
the buildings collapsed due to controlled demolition. He states:
No steel–beam high–rise had ever before (or since) completely collapsed due to fires! However,
such complete and nearly symmetrical collapses in tall steel–frame buildings have occurred many
times before–all of them due to pre–positioned explosives in a procedure called "implosion" or
controlled demolition. (22)
Jones uses the theory that a series of "shock and awe" explosions coupled with the use of thermite–
incendiaries accounts for the towers falling into fine dust instead of pilling up shattering floors of
concrete, which is what one might expect from a non–explosive collapse (28). These two ideas are
definitely debatable and should be explored for more evidence. In addition to how the towers fell,
we must understand the properties of steel. Because the Twin Towers were built from steel and

September 11, 2001, marked a tragic event in U.S. history. An American Airlines Boeing 767

People claim to have heard an explosion in the towers before the plane penetrated the building. For
example, Edmund McNally called his wife Liz twice after a plane hit the second world trade center.
He said, "Liz, this was a terrorist attack. I can hear explosions below me" (9/11 Firefighters: Bombs
and Explosions in the WTC). Edmunds phone call to his wife questions if planes were the only
cause of the thousands of deaths and collapse of the twin towers. There have been many eyewitness
accounts concluding that those individuals heard explosions beneath them of what they believed to
be bombs and secondary devices. Others have claimed to hear firefighters yelling about explosions.
Tom Elliot, being a firsthand survivor of the attacks, claimed he "saw only two firemen going up.
They told him there had been an explosion near the 60th floor" (9/11 Firefighters: Bombs and
Explosions in the WTC). This explosion happened before the aircraft hit the second world trade
center. If in fact this statement from Tom Elliot is true, many questions are left unanswered as to
what these explosions came from. The New York Fire Department Chief of Safety can answer the
unknown by concluding that "there were bombs and secondary devices, which caused the

explosions are common in wet whether, there was no hint of a major catastrophe until the phones

Government Conspiracy Theory
Government or Controlled Demolition The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated
terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al–Qaeda in the United States on the morning of
Tuesday, September 11, 2001. They attacked the Twin Towers in New York City. There are different
conspiracy theories with the 9/11 attack but the most important conspiracy theory is that the collapse
of the twin towers were the result of controlled demolition by the government rather than structural
failure due to impact and fire. Now the question remains, was it controlled demolition or was it
terrorist attacking the World Trade Center on purpose? This conspiracy theory revolves around
authorities knowing about the attackers and also guiding them to complete their terror attack. None
of the deaths would have happened without the deliberate unplugging of Americas air defense. The
twin tower did not fall of plane impacts or fire. People claim that jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams. It
was a controlled explosion by the government. "Our mission is to expose the official lies in a way
that inspires the people to overcome denial and understand the truth." People want answers to what
happened that morning, devastation all around. Conspiracy theorists believe that the government
dismissed all the signs that were in their face because this attack was a controlled demolition. Dr.
Griffin concluded that, it is already possible to know, beyond a reasonable doubt, one very
important thing: the

Argumentative Essay On 9/11 Building Design
9/11 Building Design For years, the question of how the design of the World Trade Center affected
the amount of casualties on 9/11 has been debated and analyzed by experts. Many argue that the
implementation of more strict and cautionary building plans could have gone a long way in saving
lives, while others hold the opinion that the high number of casualties was simply an inevitable
consequence of such a large–scale terrorist attack. Although it was highly unlikely that any sort of
realistic building design at the time could have prevented any deaths altogether, there are definitely
many precautions, some even mandatory, that could have had an effect on the matter. These include
the addition of extra stairwells, improved fireproofing, and ... Show more content on

This was also not held up to par with the 1938 guidelines. In fact, the poor fireproofing may have
been the most prominent cause for loss of life. In the opinion of one of the architects, Frederick G.
Frost, responsible for the code study, "Office buildings, in particular, did not need so much fire
resistance, he said; they had been stuck too long with the same burdens as far more hazardous
places, like factories" (Dwyer and Flynn 106). The shortsightedness when it came to the designing
of the buildings is absolutely tragic. Had the possibility of any sort of incident that could have
resulted in a fire even crossed someone's mind, thousands of lives might have been saved on
September 11. Furthermore, an article from the JOM Journal which covers the 9/11 event in great
detail, says "The perimeter tube design of the WTC was highly redundant. It survived the loss of
several exterior columns due to aircraft impact, but the ensuing fire led to other steel failures"
(Eagar and Musso). Essentially what this means is that the collapsing of the Twin Towers was
mostly due to the fire that came after the crash, (a result of the burning jet fuel) but was not actually
because of the impact of the plane. In fact, the structure of the buildings was much more efficient
than many of the skyscrapers that came before them, primarily due to improved technology and
understanding of physics. In a way, this could have supplied the architects and the design team with
a false sense of security when it came to the integrity of the buildings, leading them to not prioritize
fire safety during

Essay On World Trade Center Attack
On September 11, 2001, 4 airliners were hijacked by members that al–Qaeda sends out to carry out
important targets in the United States which took place in New York . 4 of the planes were hijacked
and had an objective to hit. al–Qaeda targeted the World Trade Center in 1993 which was not that
successful and again in 2001 which was very successful which damaged a lot of people's family and
city. The reason al–Qaeda attacked the World Trade Center was because the US was giving Israel
army support during the Persian Gulf War. This event brought war and change in the American life.
In 1993, al–Qaeda members planted a bomb in a car which was planned to explode under the World

to the civilians and hijackers, three hundred and forty–three firefighters and paramedics were killed.
Twenty–three police officers and thirty–seven Port Authority police officers. Six people who were in
the World Trade Center towers at the time of the collapse survived and almost ten thousand others
were treated for injuries. The death toll was beyond catastrophic and devastating to a nation. On
September 12, 2001, the United Nations held an emergency meeting for a terrorist act. NATO for
the first time decided to invoke Article 5 of the Washington Treaty, which states that an armed attack
against one or more NATO countries is an attack against all NATO countries. Another effect made
by the 9/11 World Trade Center attack has been the United States' stance on immigration and
deportation.
9/11 was a turning point in American history because it had a major effect on our society. Our
economy plunged into debt following the attacks. The way we travel on airplanes will never be the

September 11 And Skyscrapers
Why do people want to build in the sky? Skyscrapers are the most iconic symbol of the city and are
amazing landscapes created by humans who reach the clouds and ignore gravity. It implements
human aspirations that we want to build a much higher level of buildings. There is no doubt that
constructing tall buildings is not something new. The most important things while raising buildings
higher are its structural design and life safety for people living or working inside the buildings.
Today, as the building is touching to the sky, occupants of buildings are worried more and more
about how safe the building is. The major concerns regarding tall building are unplanned fire and
terrorist attack. The 43rd president George W. Bush quoted in results to 9/11, "Terrorist attacks can
shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America.
These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve". As prospective
engineers look to the future, we have the opportunity to learn the very lesson by understanding the
collapse of the WTC Towers. In the years 9/11, the time after has arisen to learn and improve the
design of future tall buildings against fire–induced collapse. The building we build inspires us and
reflects on who we are. The collapse of the World Trade Center buildings on September 11, 2001,

The Attack Of September 11th Essay
The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead, we have emerged stronger
and more unified. 9/11 was the worst day we have ever seen but it brought out the best in all of us.
9/11 is the worst and the most devastating day in New York history. This day will never be forgotten
in the history of America. The day that the terrorists thought we were going to separate but it
actually brought us even closer than ever. This day is called and remembered as 9/11.
The effect of 9/11 was very devastating in New York City and this is how it unfolded throughout the

At 9:12 on Flight 77, staff and passengers contacted their family and friends and air traffic control
that the plane had been hijacked. Approximately at 9:36, Secret Service agents evacuate the White
House employees to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. The reason they evacuated the
White House is because the authorities were expecting that another hijacked plane was going to
attack either the White House or the Capitol (9/11 MEMORIAL – September 11 Attack Timeline,

fifty–nine on board the plane and one hundred twenty–five military and civilian personnel inside the
Pentagon. This had been the third attack on the United States within fifty–one minute. To help the
Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) find the hijacked planes, they ground all flights over, or bound

I Never Knew What 9 / 11 Essay
I never knew what 9/11 was up until the middle of the first semester of my 6th grade year. A teacher
of mine, whom I no longer remember the subject he taught, briefly mentioned the attack on the
World Trade Center's twin towers by a pair of hijacked passenger airplanes. In the page we were on
of our textbook, I saw a still frame image taken from a video that captured the North Tower standing
perfectly fine seconds before it is slammed by Flight 11 that Tuesday morning. Unlike most people
that have seen a mainstream picture of the second tower being hit, this was my first visual
interpretation of the attacks; however, I would only put this in the back of my head as I left that
classroom, probably excited to go home and do something entertaining like using my legos to build
something.
Over the course of the following years though, my interest in architecture grew as my family and I
lived abroad in Spain. While there some was unique European architecture I found interesting there,
such as the Eiffel Tower in France or the Royal Palace in Madrid, I still looked into American
architecture, all the way across the Atlantic Ocean; and where does one have to look for the finest
examples of it? Well, New York City for the most part.
New York City inhabits hundreds and hundreds of tall structures, but the tallest of them all back in
the day between the 30s and 80s were four: The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and
lastly the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

The Terrorist Attacks Of The United States
September 11, 2001, started as a perfect day, but as the day went on, chaos and terror erupted in the
streets of New York City. New York's iconic World Trade Center fell victim to hijacked commercial
airlines filled with innocent people. In 102 minutes, the world was forever changed by one of the
worst attacks the United States has ever experienced. Many factors made the terrorist attacks of
September 11th a day that is permanently etched into the hearts and minds of Americans. Nineteen
radicals linked to the Islamic terrorist group al–Qaeda gained control over four airplanes and carried
out attacks against targets in the United States on 9/11. (History.com Authors) Their leader, Osama
Bin Laden, and his followers viciously opposed the United States. In al–Qaeda's opinion, the United
States was an "infidel because it was not governed in a manner consistent with the group 's extremist
interpretation of Islam." Other characteristics of America aggravated the extremist group as well,
including our foreign policy and supporting enemies of al–Qaeda. Because of his hatred of America,
Bin Laden declared a "Jihad, or holy war, against the United States, which he has carried out
through al Qaeda and its affiliated organizations." (Smith) As a result, the United States faced many
violent attacks with the group, including the bombing in 1993 that took place before the attacks on
September 11th. In September 1992, Ramzi Ahmed Yousef arrived in New York City from Pakistan

The Causes Of September 11 : The Events Of 9 / 11
My research will show that the events of 9/11 including the hijacking of the planes and crashing into
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon was all an inside job and not the act of terrorism. The
World Trade Center was bombed as well as Building 7 and the Pentagon to keep something hidden.
The structure of the World Trade Center and the claim that the fire started after the planes hit does
not correlate with how the buildings collapsed.
September 11, 2001 is a very important day in history. The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a
field in Pennsylvania were the locations where hijacked planes crashed. From the horrific attack in
2001 to this day, there are still new theories coming out about what happened on September 11,
2001 as more information becomes available. There are some conspiracy theories that have some
validity and could possibly be true. The government is so powerful, they can keep their hidden
agendas from ever leaking to the public. Many believe that the government planned the attack and
since Bush was president at the time, the spotlight was and continues to be on him.
One theory that seems to have some validity is that the planes did not cause the World Trade Center
to collapse, but rather that there were bombs that were set off to make the buildings collapse shortly
after the planes hit them. The planes were just used as a distraction while the bombs were being set
off. According to YouTube video 9/11: Controlled Demolition Comparison, buildings tend

Theory Of 9 / 11
This project is about the theory of 9/11. 9/11 was a terrorist attack that happened on September 11,
2001. Two airplanes crashed into both Twin Towers, one airplane hitting each tower. In my project, I
will be demonstrating how 9/11 may have been an inside job organized by the government. My
project will state that the government may have decided to create this "terrorist attack" so they were
able to have a reason to go to war with Iraq. Additionally,my essay contains many reasons why this
may have occurred and evidence that supports it. To find my evidence I used various websites,
books, documentaries and 9/11 magazines. Introduction "If we learn nothing else from this tragedy,
we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate." (Sandy Dahl) This is the utmost popular
quote on the internet after the tragedy of 9/11. It's the primary reason I wrote this paper. 9/11
obviously caused a mass of damage emotionally and physically. But, was it a terrorist attack by the
Al–Quada, or was it an attack ran by the government? I realize that 9/11 was horrible either way and
various people suffered, it should have never occurred in the first place. Body of Research 9/11 was
a tragic attack caused the Al–Quada, that happened on September 11, 2001. But, was it a terrorist

Why were the passenger planes was not intercepted early before the attack? Jim Meigs, a debunker,
stated that NORAD is not geared to protect us from toward domestic aircrafts, but does protect us
from foreign aircrafts. The responsibility for tracking internal hijacks doesn't start with the military,
but the FAA had responsibility to say there's a hijack. During the hijack the planes transponders
were turned off. Air Traffic controllers lose the information on the aliu dude, but they can still track
the plane as a primary signal. Webster Tarpley noted in his book 9/11, Synthetic Terror, states that
staff exercises or command exercises are perfect for a rogue network which is forced to conduct its
operations using the same communications and computer systems used by other officers who are not
necessarily party to the illegal operation. Evening of september 10th, the security level for the
NORAD computer system called infocon had been drop to normal, witch makes it easier for anyone
to penetrate or compromise the computer networks of the air defense system on September 11th.
Military exercises had been scheduled on that day of the attack. Some exercises consisted of false
hijacks of commercial airplanes. The unusual number of exercises had two big problems, first they
moved a large number of fighters tour to Canada and alaska. Finally, it created a major confusion in
the system as soon the real hijackings were reported. General Richard Myers, denied

The next risk that emergency responders will encounter when responding to the scene of a terrorist
attack is the risk of structural instability. Structural instability can occur in buildings after a bombing

may not realize the extent of the damage while rescuing the injured, consequently leading to the

These types of airborne particles could lead to many health risks especially to first responders that
are at the scene of the attack. In order to protect emergency responders when responding to the
scene of a terrorist attack, emergency personnel should use masks to protect against these airborne
particles.
While addressing the risk that first responders will encounter when arriving on the scene of a
terrorist attack, it is also important to discuss the lasting mental effects that emergency personnel
will deal with after the incident is finished. One concern would be that of the mental health of the
first responders because studies have shown that many of the emergency personnel that responded
to the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers in 2001 suffered from depression, post–traumatic
stress disorder, and panic disorders following the attacks (Thompson, et al., 2014). One study
conducted following the September 11 attacks determined that "rescue and recovery workers

31.9, percent, and panic disorder in 21.1 percent of the rescue and recovery workers that

that had to deal with the lasting mental effects from the scene of the World Trade Center attacks.

Terrorist Attacks On The United States
September 11th, 2001, alleged Al–Qaeda members attacked the United States of America with four
passenger planes, Boeing 757s. Two planes flew into the North and South Towers of the World
Trade Center in New York, one plane flew into the Pentagon, and the remaining plane was possibly
targeting the White House but was unsuccessful. People all over America felt an utter shock and
disbelief after this tragic event as people demanded answers. After the terrorist attacks, a portion of
Americans started to believe in conspiracies proving the government was behind it all. To add,
Americans also believed that the U.S. government knew in advance of the terrorist attacks on
September 11th due to the time between the attacks and the Bush administration's attempt to
investigate, the National Security Association's lack of investigation of suspicious phone calls, and
the odd "collapse" of World Trade Center Seven. However, the government tried to counter attack
with the points that Al Qaeda was behind the attacks on September 11th, Khalid Mohammed was
the mastermind behind September 11th, and that debris hit World Trade Center Seven. After the
tragedy, the U.S. government believed that Al–Qaeda hijacked the planes used in the attacks. During

September 11 : The Attacks Of 9 / 11
"The U.S. has already suffered three attacks on September 11, 2001..." (Chavez, Linda). The United
States suffered three attacks in one day. There was four aircrafts full with passengers but only one
didn't make it's destination which was to Washington D.C. instead it crashed near Shanksville,
Pennsylvania. One attack was the World Trade Center known as the Twin Towers that burned down,
then the pentagon was also attacked. Therefore September 11, 2001 was a big tragic day to the
United States because of the attacks they had to deal with all in one day. To start with is the attack
on the Twin Towers that was burned down by American Airlines Flight 11 and the United Airlines
Flight 175. "As one fell, the floor was unable to support the additional weight, causing it to collapse,

Remember September 11, 2001
Many people can look back and remember September 9th, 2001, like it was yesterday. This day will
be forever remembered in America's History. This is the day the world seemed as it stood still. On
9/11, America experienced a major terrorist attack, which hijacked planes were crashed into the
World Trade Centers in New York City, crashed into the Pentagon in the District of Columbia, and
had a plane crash into the fields of Pennsylvania. There are many theories on what actually
happened and who was involved in the 9/11 attack. The most common word is that Islamic terrorists
were the main group involved. It is also said that these terrorists were financed by Osama bin
Laden's al–Qaeda terrorist organization. Which is why he was such a wanted man after the attacks.
But it wasn't just the Islamic terrorists who were involved, many say that there were many other
Arab nations involved in some way, such as the planning and details. The location of the attacks
were skillfully thought out. Each hijacked pilot had a mission to complete. A plan to do major
damage in one of the most tratisofic way. The World Trade Center had almost 50,000 people who
worked there. That is a huge target to get people's attention. Alot of the job positions that were filled
at the World Trade Center or also known as Twin Towers, had to deal with trade. Even trade to other
countries and nations. Which is another reason why this target was most likely picked. Not only was
the Twin Towers a chosen target but

started as a beautiful morning, with its sky cloudless and bright with the shining sun. Despite the
seemingly peaceful morning, a sequence of catastrophic events occurred and caused the day to take
a turn for the worst. Anything that made the day appear normal drastically changed.
On the morning of the September 11th attacks, or the attacks of 9/11, four passenger airplanes were

"9:03 am– ...crash United Airlines Flight 175 into floors 75–85 of the WTC's South Tower"
(History.com Staff). Like the crash into the North Tower, the crash into the South Tower killed
everybody aboard and hundreds inside the building. After the second tower was smashed into, it was
clear that America was under attack.
Now, both the Twin Towers were engulfed in flames. Numerous people were trapped inside the
towers, since they were on the floors above the impact zone. Many people even leaped to their
deaths, believing it would be better than to die the haunting, horrific death from flames, and/or
smoke inhalation. Even with both 110–story buildings ablaze, the tragedy was far from finished.
Although the South Tower was the second to be struck, it was the first to fall. Less than one hour
after the airplane smashed into it, the entire building collapsed. "9:59 am– The South Tower of the

I have never had a literal, involuntary jaw–dropping moment. Nothing in my life has ever been that
devastating or overwhelming where I felt like my body didn't belong to me anymore. Where my
only response was a gaping mouth, tears escaping my eyes to drip down my cheeks, shaking with
every breath. Not until I saw footage in the museum of the South Tower come crashing down. On

2,997. A number I could count to in about an hour. Unlike a million, billion and trillion it seemed
relatively easy to fathom and grasp. It wasn't until I heard the voices of those who had first hand
witnessed the collapse of the South Tower that, that number became infinite. Each tragic passing
meant an immeasurable network of family, friends, colleagues and neighbors who would feel the
constant, painful void of losing a loved one. My mind then went to think, what if it were my mom or
dad or sister or best friend or close colleague or next door neighbor in that building. I felt extreme
urgency to call my family to remind them how much I loved them and needed them in my life. I
then thought about all of the people who couldn't say I love you one last time. Who couldn't hug
their mom and snuggle with their dog and kiss their spouse and laugh with their friends. Life is
immense. It was the first time in my life where I couldn't fathom how important each life is. I

history: the demolition of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, and of building 7. It ended the
lives of over 3,000 innocent men and women, "400 [of them were] police officers and firefighters,"
and it permanently effected the lives of their families and friends. Imagine going to work one day,
and unexpectedly a plane crashes into your place of work, and your life is on the line. What would
you do? Call your loved ones? Try to escape? Take a quick look at this video clip and think about
that.
B. Reason to Listen: Now try to put yourself in the shoes of these people, or even in the shoes of
their family members. Imagine the horror, and later on the anger. Their loved ones, and these
people's lives were forever changed and no justice has been served even 14 years after the event.
The attack on these towers as reported and analyzed by FEMA and the NIST, both architecture
experts, leaves much room for doubt in the aftermath, opening the door for many questions. These
questions need answers, and they need justice.
C. Speaker Credibility (right to inform): Over the course of Spring Break, while you all enjoyed
your well needed rest, I worked tirelessly to uncover the facts and the truth about the demolition of
the World Trade Center's towers. I scrolled through countless websites and articles to discern the
most credible sources for my project, and what I have for you

September 11th, 2001 : The Most Tragic Disasters Of...
One of the most tragic events to ever take place is still being talked about to this day. September
11th, 2001, will forever go down in history, as one of the most tragic disasters to hit the United
States of America. It was a heartbreak for all of us to see those towers fall and thousands upon
thousands of American lives destroyed. The events of that day are surely going to be remembered
for the brutal truth and will always remind us of the hate that we as humans can create. However,
who we were attacked by and even if we were attacked, is a hard decision to make.
September 11th, 2001, Al Qaeda terrorists aboard four hijacked passenger planes carried out suicidal
attacks against the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.,
killing everyone on board the planes and nearly 3,000 people on the ground. A fourth plane went
down into a Pennsylvania field, killing all on–board, after passengers and crew attempted to take
back command of their aircraft from the hijackers. The World Trade Center was hit first, Boeing 767
American Airlines flight loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel smashed into the north tower of the
World Trade Center. That impact left a broad, smoldering hole near the 80th floor of the 110–story
skyscraper, abruptly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in the higher floors . As
the evacuation of the towers got underway, television cameras broadcasted live video of what
initially appeared to be a freak accident.

Conspiracy Theories Of 9 / 11
A day known as one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on the United States in history. Hijacked planes
crashed on September 11, 2001 into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in
Pennsylvania. From the horrific attack in 2001 to this day, there are still new theories coming out
about what happened on September 11, 2001, as more information becomes available. There are
some conspiracy theories that have credibility and could possibly be true. The government is so
powerful that they can keep their hidden agendas from ever leaking to the public. What many people
believe is that the government planned the attack. The spotlight was and continues to remain on
Bush because he was the president at the time. He was the person of the highest authority in the
government and people feel the need to push blame on him. There was a video of Osama Bin Laden
confessing about the attacks and most people believed him when he took blame. Some do not
believe him and that is why there are so many conspiracy theories on based on 9/11. The
government caused 9/11 to divert the public's attention and there are many theories that can provide
reasoning as to why that theory is correct.
The planes did not cause the World Trade Center to collapse, but rather there were bombs that were
set off to make the buildings collapse shortly after the planes hit them. The planes were just used as
a distraction while the bombs were being set off. According to Harris (2000):
If you remove the support

The 9/11 Attack On The World Trade Center
9/11 Documentary The 9 / 11 attack on the world trade center proves to be one of the most
documents events in history. The actual footage caught on the cameras can bring a person to tears.
Four airplanes were hijacked and two of the planes were crashed in each building causing them both
to collapse. Each plane was carrying ten thousand gallons of jet fuel. Most of the acknowledgements
I have seen growing up focus on mainly the people who were inside the building at the time of the
collapse. Family and friends being called by love ones who knew they were not going to make it out
the building alive. The graphic footage of watching people jump out the windows, so they would not
burn to death by the two thousand degree flames pulls tremendously

A Day That Changed Our Lives. What Was The Day That Changed

  • 1. A Day That Changed Our Lives. What Was The Day That Changed A Day That Changed Our Lives What Was The Day That Changed Our Lives? It was on a Tuesday morning September 11, 2001 other wise known as 9–11. That was a terrible day for everyone, there were thousands of lives lost due to an attack by Islamic Terrorists group Al–Qaeda. Throughout my essay I'm going to discuss more on what happened on this day. Tuesday Morning September 11, 2001 it was a serene morning everyone on there way to work the weather was nice, all until at 8:45am a plane Flight eleven crashes in the north tower of the world trade center. The impact left a gaping hole near the 80th floor and the 110th, it killed and trapped hundreds of people due to the fire. Then fifteen to twenty minutes later at 9:03 the second plane Flight ... The Boeing 757 is headed to Los Angeles with 64 people aboard. 8:24 am – Hijacker Mohammed Atta makes the first of two accidental transmissions from Flight 11 to ground control (apparently in an attempt to communicate with the plane's cabin). 8:40 am – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) alerts North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)'s Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS) about the suspected hijacking of Flight 11. In response, NEADS scrambles two fighter planes located at Cape Cod's Otis Air National Guard Base to locate and tail Flight 11; they are not yet in the air when Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower. 8:41 am – United Airlines Flight 93, a Boeing 757 with 44 people aboard, takes off from Newark International Airport en route to San Francisco. The collision left a giant opening close to the eightieth floor of the one hundred ten story skyscraper, abruptly ending hundreds of people's lives and trapping hundreds more in the floors above. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin– the South Tower– got underway by the local authorities, television news channels broadcasted live images of what at first appeared to be a freak accident. They were allegedly responding in vengeance for the United States of America's support of Israel, its sustained military occupancy of the Middle East, and its engagement in the Persian Gulf War. Several of the terrorists had resided in the United States of America for approximately a year and had attended the American commercial flight schools to learn how to fly a plane. Others had smuggled themselves into the country months prior to the September 11 attacks and helped carry out the operation. The nineteen radical Islamic terrorists effortlessly slipped knives and box–cutters straight past security at three different airports on the East Coast and boarded four flights bound for California. These flights were selected for the reason that the aircrafts were weighted with fuel for the long journey across the country. Shortly after the planes took off, the terrorists hijacked the four planes and made their way to the cockpit to control them. This transformed typical commuter airplanes into deadly guided missiles. As millions of people witnessed the events happening in New York, American Airlines Flight 77 flew around downtown Washington, D.C., and crashed into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 a.m. Jet fuel from the Boeing 757 caused a devastating conflagration that ... • 3. Essay On World Trade Center Collapse Summary This interim report details the work so far completed, for the 3rd year project entitled 'World Trade Center collapse – Investigation into the collapse sequence'. The said project is almost at its midpoint, and therefore allows for a balanced analysis of the Project, and how successful it has proved so far. This report succeeds the 'Project Proposal', which may be referred to at points in this up to date report. Some sections found in the 'Project Proposal' have been reviewed in this document, in conjunction to this, new sections have been introduced such as results to date. It is hoped that in that this report will give a clear and concise illustration to the reader as to how this project has gone so far, and the direction the ... For further background information relating to the Structural systems, please refer to the Proposal Report. This Project will improve the Students own Engineering judgement and critical thinking skills. With different parts of the project having specific benefits to respective components of making a good Structural Engineer; these components are perhaps best expressed in the Section 2 of this report, as it shows progress so far. Predominantly the first part of the project revolves around making assumptions and simplifications of the structural model and its loading; to try and find the most accurate, yet computationally efficient, building blocks from which the results will be found after an impact damage is inputted to the model. The Second part of this project will concern the collapse sequence of the WTC after the plane impact occurred, and the resulting re–distribution of load combining with thermal ... • 4. Conspiracy Theories Around 9-11 The worst terrorist attack in U.S history occurred on September 11, 2001. According to U.S government officials, nineteen men hijacked four fuel–loaded commercial planes with the intent to destroy the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as both the Pentagon and the White House in Washington D.C. The attacks began at 8:46am ET when American Airline's Flight 11 struck the North tower of the World Trade Center, causing chaos on the streets below. Not even twenty minutes later, another commercial plane, United Airlines Flight 175, struck the south tower. Americans and people all over the world watched helplessly as the action on the East Coast unfolded. Any American old enough to remember can most likely tell you exactly where he or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One MSNBC reporter, who was actually inside the north tower after the plane struck, stated "I heard a second explosion...And then a fire marshal came in and said we had to leave, because if there was a third explosion this building might not last" (Bombs and Explosions in the WTC 1). This quote not only tells us that there was a possible explosion inside the World Trade Center, but that there seem to have been more than one. If the collapse of the towers really was a controlled demolition as it looked like to many, this would mean that a lot of premeditated work to place explosives would have had to occur. Seeing as very few people have access to every place of the World Trade Center, it does seem likely that some government cooperation would have been needed to make it happen. Many researchers claim that the explosions heard in and around the World Trade Center could have been from exploding electrical transformers. They say that the heat from the fire was too much for the transformers and caused explosions throughout the building. Author of George Washington's Blog had this to say about the topic: "Well, if exploding transformers caused these sounds and the collapse of the Twin Towers, why didn't we hear the same things and see the collapse of the buildings in Madrid, Venezuela, Los Angeles and elsewhere which burned hotter and ... On September 11, 2001, the attack on the World Trade Center profoundly changed not only U.S. domestic and foreign policies but the world. The research conducted in this paper will explore the incidents that occurred on the terrorist attack that destroyed the Twin Towers and devastated the World Trade Center in New York. Many had threatened the U.S. but none have previously been successful. The impact of 9/11 introduced a new reform that included war on terrorism worldwide such as the deployment of U.S. military over seas as a result, the advancement of Homeland Security and subsidiary agencies, the ... One of the most motivating factors that led up to the September 11, 2001 attack was the involvement of the United States with foreign policies in the Middle East. • 6. World Trade Center Collapse Case Study So many changes had come about when the World Trade Center collapsed. Engineers and design teams all across the country came together and wanted to make changes to buildings they build today to reduce to number of fatalities and to have more means of egress in case of an emergency. Not even years after the terriorist attacks, they came up with some changes that would help out the situation and came up with some new safety regulations. Some of them include additional stairways in buildings. More stairways in buildings is great when buildings exceed more than 1,000 plus people inside a building at one time. Having just one or two stairwells and having 1,000 plus people exiting will sometimes cause a hold up in getting out. Having more inside ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the plane had been delayed in taking off, passengers on board learned of events in New York and Washington via cell phone and Airfone calls to the ground. Knowing that the aircraft was not returning to an airport as the hijackers claimed, a group of passengers and flight attendants planned an insurrection. One of the passengers, Thomas Burnett Jr., told his wife over the phone that "I know we're all going to die. There's three of us who are going to do something about it. I love you, honey." Another passenger, Todd Beamer, was heard saying "Are you guys ready? LEt's roll" over an open line. • 8. How Did The Collapse Of The World Trade Center Towers Collapse of the World Trade Center towers was a dramatic and sudden incident that shocked the entire world, (Koening, 2001). Nearly everyone was shocked at the complete destruction of such a massive building. A widespread speculation continues to grow among the public as what actually caused the collapse. Surrounding the speculations are beliefs, such as poor structural design, which fire suppression equipment failed to work, and steels of columns melted. This essay attempts to quantify the collapse. There exists an ethical issue regarding how the World Trade Towers building was put up. In their line of professional duty, Engineers are supposed to uphold the paramount safety, welfare and health of the public about their work. The 9/11 attacks left many hearts broken and heads spinning about the events that occurred. I personally have been very skeptical about the official version of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. There are a few reasons that made me question what started a war that has become the longest war in American History. Planted explosives in the buildings would be able to make this pattern of falling possible. There is a group of 2,500 architects and engineers, of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, that concur that the evidence found at the collapse site as well as the way in which the buildings fell suggests a controlled demolition was involved in the collapse of the buildings. The key factor that changed their minds, and mine, is the fall pattern concerning Building 7 of the World Trade Center. Building 7 was a headquarters of the C.I.A., and it was this building that fell in only 7 seconds. The same engineers and architects from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth also concluded that how this building came down matches the fall pattern of a controlled demolition. After watching the video of the collapse of Building 7 and a video of a controlled demolition, I saw that the buildings fell in identical patterns. NIST released a report and held a press conference to try to explain Building 7's collapse. NIST stated that the building had been damaged by office fires and that is what caused the building to collapse, though Fire Protection Engineer Scott Grainger states that "high rise buildings simply do not collapse due to fire" (Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth: Science of 9/11, 2017). When I saw the video of the building collapsing there were squibs, dust clouds, being shot out of the building in a synchronized manner that was similar to the controlled demolition video. The middle of the building was the first part of the building to begin collapse, followed by the rest of the building. This second part of the collapse would occur milliseconds behind the first, which contradicts the recreation of the building collapse NIST produced. Their recreation shows the corners of the building falling inward, which the actual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All of a sudden a commercial airline is seen flying low to the ground on the horizon. Boom! The city starts to shake. That commercial airline has crashed into the World Trade Center. The tower is engulfed with flames, many of the people at the top of the tower are stuck. This Tuesday morning will change the lives of many people. After this horrific attack, a terrorist organization known as Al qaeda took responsibility for the attack a month or so later. The steel frames of the buildings lost some of their structural strength from the burning of the jet fuel when the planes hit. The support beams in the tower were cut by the commercial airplane which was another factor to the collapse of this building. These three points prove why 9/11 was a catastrophic event, that should be known as the destruction that came from a terrorist organization which used commercial airlines to destroy their targets. On that morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a tragic accident occurred. There were 2,753 victims from the collapsing of the World Trade center. Only 60% of those victims have been identified. Hotel occupancy fell below 40% and 3,000 employees were laid off in the week following the attacks. (Wiki– Economics, History.com) Health effects of the September 11, 2001 attacks were almost non– existent at first, but years and years of study showed that people who worked around the debris from long periods of time are much more likely to develop PTSD. Some heart conditions and respiratory disease have been linked to the September 11, 2001 attacks, but nothing has been proven. By this, he meant that they decided to demolish the tower. But this news is shocking because controlled demolition of that accuracy and safety requires months of planning. It means that it may have been planned demolition. In February of 2002 Silverstein Properties won $861 million from Industrial Risk Insurers to rebuild on the site of World Trade Center 7 (www.prisonplanet.com). When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a travesty. The "official story" provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of "9/11 Mysteries: Demolitions" say that "four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them" (Shafquat). ... He claims a delay would be expected between each dropped floor, taking longer for the building to collapse. Shafquat reinforces Jones's and uses the computer claim by stating that "pancake floors would lose speed." Jones discusses the idea that the buildings collapsed due to controlled demolition. He states: No steel–beam high–rise had ever before (or since) completely collapsed due to fires! However, such complete and nearly symmetrical collapses in tall steel–frame buildings have occurred many times before–all of them due to pre–positioned explosives in a procedure called "implosion" or controlled demolition. (22) Jones uses the theory that a series of "shock and awe" explosions coupled with the use of thermite– incendiaries accounts for the towers falling into fine dust instead of pilling up shattering floors of concrete, which is what one might expect from a non–explosive collapse (28). These two ideas are definitely debatable and should be explored for more evidence. In addition to how the towers fell, we must understand the properties of steel. Government Conspiracy Theory Government or Controlled Demolition The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al–Qaeda in the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. They attacked the Twin Towers in New York City. There are different conspiracy theories with the 9/11 attack but the most important conspiracy theory is that the collapse of the twin towers were the result of controlled demolition by the government rather than structural failure due to impact and fire. Now the question remains, was it controlled demolition or was it terrorist attacking the World Trade Center on purpose? This conspiracy theory revolves around authorities knowing about the attackers and also guiding them to complete their terror attack. None of the deaths would have happened without the deliberate unplugging of Americas air defense. The twin tower did not fall of plane impacts or fire. People claim that jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams. It was a controlled explosion by the government. "Our mission is to expose the official lies in a way that inspires the people to overcome denial and understand the truth." People want answers to what happened that morning, devastation all around. Many argue that the implementation of more strict and cautionary building plans could have gone a long way in saving lives, while others hold the opinion that the high number of casualties was simply an inevitable consequence of such a large–scale terrorist attack. In fact, the poor fireproofing may have been the most prominent cause for loss of life. In the opinion of one of the architects, Frederick G. Frost, responsible for the code study, "Office buildings, in particular, did not need so much fire resistance, he said; they had been stuck too long with the same burdens as far more hazardous places, like factories" (Dwyer and Flynn 106). The shortsightedness when it came to the designing of the buildings is absolutely tragic. Had the possibility of any sort of incident that could have resulted in a fire even crossed someone's mind, thousands of lives might have been saved on September 11. Furthermore, an article from the JOM Journal which covers the 9/11 event in great detail, says "The perimeter tube design of the WTC was highly redundant. It survived the loss of several exterior columns due to aircraft impact, but the ensuing fire led to other steel failures" (Eagar and Musso). Essentially what this means is that the collapsing of the Twin Towers was mostly due to the fire that came after the crash, (a result of the burning jet fuel) but was not actually because of the impact of the plane. In fact, the structure of the buildings was much more efficient than many of the skyscrapers that came before them, primarily due to improved technology and understanding of physics. Skyscrapers are the most iconic symbol of the city and are amazing landscapes created by humans who reach the clouds and ignore gravity. It implements human aspirations that we want to build a much higher level of buildings. There is no doubt that constructing tall buildings is not something new. The most important things while raising buildings higher are its structural design and life safety for people living or working inside the buildings. Today, as the building is touching to the sky, occupants of buildings are worried more and more about how safe the building is. The major concerns regarding tall building are unplanned fire and terrorist attack. The 43rd president George W. Bush quoted in results to 9/11, "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve". As prospective engineers look to the future, we have the opportunity to learn the very lesson by understanding the collapse of the WTC Towers. In the years 9/11, the time after has arisen to learn and improve the design of future tall buildings against fire–induced collapse. The building we build inspires us and reflects on who we are. • 24. I Never Knew What 9 / 11 Essay I never knew what 9/11 was up until the middle of the first semester of my 6th grade year. A teacher of mine, whom I no longer remember the subject he taught, briefly mentioned the attack on the World Trade Center's twin towers by a pair of hijacked passenger airplanes. In the page we were on of our textbook, I saw a still frame image taken from a video that captured the North Tower standing perfectly fine seconds before it is slammed by Flight 11 that Tuesday morning. Unlike most people that have seen a mainstream picture of the second tower being hit, this was my first visual interpretation of the attacks; however, I would only put this in the back of my head as I left that classroom, probably excited to go home and do something entertaining like using my legos to build something. Over the course of the following years though, my interest in architecture grew as my family and I lived abroad in Spain. While there some was unique European architecture I found interesting there, such as the Eiffel Tower in France or the Royal Palace in Madrid, I still looked into American architecture, all the way across the Atlantic Ocean; and where does one have to look for the finest examples of it? Well, New York City for the most part. New York City inhabits hundreds and hundreds of tall structures, but the tallest of them all back in the day between the 30s and 80s were four: The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and lastly the twin towers of the World Trade Center. ... New York's iconic World Trade Center fell victim to hijacked commercial airlines filled with innocent people. In 102 minutes, the world was forever changed by one of the worst attacks the United States has ever experienced. Many factors made the terrorist attacks of September 11th a day that is permanently etched into the hearts and minds of Americans. Nineteen radicals linked to the Islamic terrorist group al–Qaeda gained control over four airplanes and carried out attacks against targets in the United States on 9/11. (History.com Authors) Their leader, Osama Bin Laden, and his followers viciously opposed the United States. In al–Qaeda's opinion, the United States was an "infidel because it was not governed in a manner consistent with the group 's extremist interpretation of Islam." Other characteristics of America aggravated the extremist group as well, including our foreign policy and supporting enemies of al–Qaeda. Because of his hatred of America, Bin Laden declared a "Jihad, or holy war, against the United States, which he has carried out through al Qaeda and its affiliated organizations." The Causes Of September 11 : The Events Of 9 / 11 My research will show that the events of 9/11 including the hijacking of the planes and crashing into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon was all an inside job and not the act of terrorism. The World Trade Center was bombed as well as Building 7 and the Pentagon to keep something hidden. The structure of the World Trade Center and the claim that the fire started after the planes hit does not correlate with how the buildings collapsed. September 11, 2001 is a very important day in history. The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania were the locations where hijacked planes crashed. Two airplanes crashed into both Twin Towers, one airplane hitting each tower. In my project, I will be demonstrating how 9/11 may have been an inside job organized by the government. My project will state that the government may have decided to create this "terrorist attack" so they were able to have a reason to go to war with Iraq. Additionally,my essay contains many reasons why this may have occurred and evidence that supports it. To find my evidence I used various websites, books, documentaries and 9/11 magazines. Introduction "If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate." Structural instability can occur in buildings after a bombing or fire and something more significant, such as when the planes were used in the World Trade Center attacks. When a building's structure and integrity have been compromised, first responders may not realize the extent of the damage while rescuing the injured, consequently leading to the building collapsing on emergency personnel after they enter. After the attacks on the World Trade Center, the collapse of the towers ended with over 400 emergency responders being killed (Thompson, et al., 2014). Structural instability does not just ... In order to protect emergency responders when responding to the scene of a terrorist attack, emergency personnel should use masks to protect against these airborne particles. While addressing the risk that first responders will encounter when arriving on the scene of a terrorist attack, it is also important to discuss the lasting mental effects that emergency personnel will deal with after the incident is finished. One concern would be that of the mental health of the first responders because studies have shown that many of the emergency personnel that responded to the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers in 2001 suffered from depression, post–traumatic stress disorder, and panic disorders following the attacks (Thompson, et al., 2014). One study conducted following the September 11 attacks determined that "rescue and recovery workers demonstrated a cumulative incidence of depression of 27.5 percent, post–traumatic stress disorder in 31.9, percent, and panic disorder in 21.1 percent of the rescue and recovery workers that participated in the study" (Wisnivesky, et. al, 2011). Two planes flew into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, one plane flew into the Pentagon, and the remaining plane was possibly targeting the White House but was unsuccessful. People all over America felt an utter shock and disbelief after this tragic event as people demanded answers. After the terrorist attacks, a portion of Americans started to believe in conspiracies proving the government was behind it all. To add, Americans also believed that the U.S. government knew in advance of the terrorist attacks on September 11th due to the time between the attacks and the Bush administration's attempt to investigate, the National Security Association's lack of investigation of suspicious phone calls, and the odd "collapse" of World Trade Center Seven. However, the government tried to counter attack with the points that Al Qaeda was behind the attacks on September 11th, Khalid Mohammed was the mastermind behind September 11th, and that debris hit World Trade Center Seven. After the tragedy, the U.S. government believed that Al–Qaeda hijacked the planes used in the attacks. One attack was the World Trade Center known as the Twin Towers that burned down, then the pentagon was also attacked. Therefore September 11, 2001 was a big tragic day to the United States because of the attacks they had to deal with all in one day. To start with is the attack on the Twin Towers that was burned down by American Airlines Flight 11 and the United Airlines Flight 175. On 9/11, America experienced a major terrorist attack, which hijacked planes were crashed into the World Trade Centers in New York City, crashed into the Pentagon in the District of Columbia, and had a plane crash into the fields of Pennsylvania. There are many theories on what actually happened and who was involved in the 9/11 attack. The most common word is that Islamic terrorists were the main group involved. It is also said that these terrorists were financed by Osama bin Laden's al–Qaeda terrorist organization. Which is why he was such a wanted man after the attacks. But it wasn't just the Islamic terrorists who were involved, many say that there were many other Arab nations involved in some way, such as the planning and details. The location of the attacks were skillfully thought out. Each hijacked pilot had a mission to complete. A plan to do major damage in one of the most tratisofic way. The World Trade Center had almost 50,000 people who worked there. That is a huge target to get people's attention. Alot of the job positions that were filled at the World Trade Center or also known as Twin Towers, had to deal with trade. Even trade to other countries and nations. It ended the lives of over 3,000 innocent men and women, "400 [of them were] police officers and firefighters," and it permanently effected the lives of their families and friends. Take a quick look at this video clip and think about that. B. Reason to Listen: Now try to put yourself in the shoes of these people, or even in the shoes of their family members. Imagine the horror, and later on the anger. Their loved ones, and these people's lives were forever changed and no justice has been served even 14 years after the event. The attack on these towers as reported and analyzed by FEMA and the NIST, both architecture experts, leaves much room for doubt in the aftermath, opening the door for many questions. These questions need answers, and they need justice. C. Speaker Credibility (right to inform): Over the course of Spring Break, while you all enjoyed your well needed rest, I worked tirelessly to uncover the facts and the truth about the demolition of the World Trade Center's towers. It was a heartbreak for all of us to see those towers fall and thousands upon thousands of American lives destroyed. The events of that day are surely going to be remembered for the brutal truth and will always remind us of the hate that we as humans can create. However, who we were attacked by and even if we were attacked, is a hard decision to make. September 11th, 2001, Al Qaeda terrorists aboard four hijacked passenger planes carried out suicidal attacks against the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing everyone on board the planes and nearly 3,000 people on the ground. A fourth plane went down into a Pennsylvania field, killing all on–board, after passengers and crew attempted to take back command of their aircraft from the hijackers. The World Trade Center was hit first, Boeing 767 American Airlines flight loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel smashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. That impact left a broad, smoldering hole near the 80th floor of the 110–story skyscraper, abruptly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in the higher floors .
