COURSE DESCRIPTION: Explores technology that has been designed for use in the classroom Various methods for integrating technology into the curriculum Utilization and evaluation of various technologies Appropriateness for the
PURPOSE OF THE COURSE: Prepare committed individuals as facilitators of learning for a diverse world, using the constructivist model of teaching Following minimum state standards are addressed: Educational technology including the use of computer and other technologies in instruction, assessment and professional productivity National Education Technology Standards for Teachers are also addressed
READINGS AND SUPPLIES: Most Readings will be supplied online Students are required to download and print certain tutorials and articles  Live Text E-portfolio Software Materials:   A USB flash drive Free Accounts: Diigo & Google accounts  Paid Subscription: QuestGarden- 2 years for $20 Headphones, microphone, and digital camera optional.
LEARNER OUTCOMES knowledgeable about computers operations: platforms, file management, troubleshooting, etc.  able to use a computer effectively for concept mapping, data collection including grading, multi-media and graphics capabilities, both as a part of an effective curriculum and as a classroom management tool.  able to use a computer effectively for research, teaching, and learning.  able to use Inspiration to pre-write and organize thoughts
LEARNER OUTCOMES able to build a basic website  able to incorporate technology into the curriculum to attain specific learning goals  familiar with emerging technologies for the classroom  able to understand the benefits as well as the drawbacks of using technology in the classroom, with the ability to review and evaluate educational software/hardware to determine its value as a learning tool
