2. Storyboard 1: The images illustrated to the left highlights my first two story
boards. All of the images used are hopefully going to be used within my final
music video, however only if they work well. When planning the appropriate
shots I decided that the first shot that will be displayed will illustrate a
establishing shot allowing the audience to gain an understanding of where
exactly the first scene is set. Furthermore the close up shots that are used
shortly after allow the audience to get to know the two main characters used
as they emphasise the facial and body expressions of the artists connoting
certain emotions and feelings. I found it difficult when thinking of what shots to
use when however each time I linked back to the lyrics as all successful music
videos link lyrics to visuals. Therefore this engages the audience and
encourages them not to loose interest as each scene differs giving alterations.
Therefore within the fist set of storyboards I had to illustrate visuals that stuck
to the serious tone of the music, and therefore ensured that all artists were
not humorous etc.
Storyboard 2: Secondly as the song progresses I decided that more
shots should be used when ensuring that the audience maintain focus.
Therefore the illustrations shown display a more humorous side of the
artists allowing the audience to interact and identify with the two in
personal ways. My shots highlight a range of short cut shots linking to
the pace of the music and the lyrics. I decided to draw a range of shots
as I am aware that to get the highest marks a range of shots must be
displayed. This is why I drew close up, long shots, mid shots, etc.
Similarly all of the shots stated are all in different locations again to
attract the attention of the target market. I aim to get shots in a range of
weathers to show the fun side of the protagonist.
3. Storyboard 3: Thirdly with the third set of story boards I have mainly decided
to focus on the female artist (Megan Brant) instead of the two due to the lyrics
being alone and annoyed. Therefore I have decided to use a blurred over the
shoulder shot of the two talking illustrating the sign of annoyance. After this I
will carry on to use individual shots of the artist for example on the swing etc.
This will highlight independence and freedom allowing the audience to gain a
larger understanding of what the artist is like. I have decided to link this in with
a relevant verse that focuses on herself to ensure that all visuals are linked to
lyrics. Furthermore within the last image I have displayed the artist lying down
surrounded by lemons. Therefore the props used are key within this scene as
the lemons are a key focus when linking the lyrics and visuals at the correct
time.
Storyboard 4: The last story board highlights all of the shots that I am
aiming to take place during the remainder of my song. I aim to use as
many props as possible in the last scene and aiming to finish off on a
view of about 20 lanterns going up in the sky to set the scene. Likewise
I will have my main female artist carrying out a variety of simple
pleasures to illustrate how the simplest things in life can amuse people.
Therefore I will be using props such as stones to do skimming
stones, hula hoops placed on each finger, popping bubble wrap etc. I
aim to complete my filming by the end of October so that I can make a
start on the editing after the half term.
