2. Biotic Factors in the Ocean Ecosystem
• All living things in the ocean ecosystem are
biotic factors.
• They are; fish, octopi, sharks, clams, starfish,
jellyfish, puffer fish, otters, seals, sea horses,
crabs, angel fish, moon fish, sword fish,
whales, dolphins, tuna fish, sun fish, red fishs,
mimic octopi, flying fish, and hermit crabs.
4. Abiotic Factors of the Ocean
Ecosystem
The abiotic factors of an ecosystem are the non
living things.
In the ocean these are: rocks, sand, water,
sunken ships, sea shells, pearls, bones, coral,
dead sponges and seaweed.
6. How biotic and abiotic factors work
together in the ocean ecosystem
• If there is no water in the ocean the fish will die
• If coral is not on a rock on them they get burned.
•
• Some fishes need sun to survive
• If the water is too salty or if there is not enough
oxygen in the water the fish might die.
8. If there was an interruption the food
chain
If one animal is gone the other animals would
maybe die and it might be interrupted
If one of the animal is gone the other will get
larger and the same animal will come to the
food chain
If one of the animals is dead, the other animal
will have to go to a different food chain.
9. Dangers to the food chain
• If fisherman fish too much there are less fish for
other fish to eat.
• If the water temperature is cold or too hot, they
will die in the ocean.
• If the fish do not have enough water, they will die
• If garbage goes in the ocean, it will get polluted
and fish will die.
10. Other interesting facts in the ocean
ecosystem
There are almost 500 or more sharks species in
the ocean
Underwater in the hot springs, the temperature
is 94 degrees.
