The film Scream was released in 1996. It is a horror film that follows a girl who receives threatening phone calls from a killer. The killer plays games with the girl and ends up killing her boyfriend. More students are killed, including some of the main character's friends at a party. It is revealed that the main character's boyfriend and his friend were the killers attempting to frame her. They are ultimately killed, ending their killing spree. The film effectively uses techniques like lighting, camera angles, costumes and sound effects to build suspense and scare the audience. It also examines common horror film tropes and provides messages about not making assumptions without evidence.

Scream
The film scream was made in 1996. It is a horror film. The film starts
with someone phoning this girl and saying that he is watching her so
then she freaks out and locks all the doors. Then he plays a game
with her to shave her boyfriend but he kills him and then he breaks
into the girl’s house and takes her and hangs her and guts her. Then
the school gets questioned. Then the main character gets the phone
call and then she was nearly killed but her boyfriend (saves her). In
the middle of all of this the killer starts killing random. Then they go
to their friend’s house for a party and they start talking about the
rules of horror films. But then some of the main character get killed
and then the main character’s boyfriend and his friend ended up
being the killers and then they tried to make it look like she was the
killer but it didn’t happen and they were killed.
In the film scream. It has many different conventions. Scream has
very good sound effects Some of these are knife notices that make
you have suspense. They also use the weather to describe how what
is happening. In this film there is a lot of build-up on when every
person gets killed. He uses a costume that would be very popular and
people would recognise this costume. All you need is a costume that
you know will represent the film. They also many show may different
camera angles some of these are tracking shots, over the shoulder
shots and eye level shots. In this film I think that it is not just a horror
film I also think it is in the horror genre. There are also many
messages I this film. Some of these messages are don’t think
someone is somebody else if you don’t know who they are.

The lighting in the film is different though out the film. They use the
darkness of the garage to make it fell creepy and scary. But in
another scene they used bright light in the house to show that
nothing was happening and that they are having fun but next to that
room in the dark someone was killed. Also the killer wears a black
costume to show that he is evil and he is not pure and he wants to
kill.
The camera shot they use close up shot to show the character’s facial
expressions and they also use wide angle shots to capture as much as
they can in one shot. They also use a long shot to capture the
background at the end of the film to give it a nice ending.
