Inspirational/Creative opening sequences

1. Inspirational/Creative Opening Squences
Personally, I like movies that start with action, start with
something to pull the audience in, get them involved early.
Therefore the first opening sequence that I would have is the
movie: Saving Private Ryan by Paramount Home
Entertainment.
This movie was first shown in 1998 and has an opening
sequence of almost 30 minutes long! The movie goes straight
into the action with the Normandy beach landings as the
American forces Fight to gain control of the Omaha Beaches.
The movie was very successful making it realistic and emotional
and it really grabbed the audience’s attention and quickly
became a favorite for many.

2. A second inspirational movie opening would have to be:Scream.
This movie is the same genre as the one I am doing therefore it
fits well with the planning and research side of my project. The
opening scene of scream involves a girl constantly being
contacted by a mysterious strange voice on the phone that wont
leave her alone and she gets more and more panicked and
scared. The purpose of this opening scene is to first of all freak
the audience out but also draw them in with suspense. It all
leads up to the first death of the movie when the title is shown.

3. A third inspirational opening sequence is: JAWS
Jaws is a movie basically about a killer great white shark. The
start of the movie is pretty basic, involving a boy and a girl at a
party who decide to go for a swim. The male passes out on the
beach and the girl swims alone when she is attacked and killed
by a shark that you do not see. This is possibly to show how
quickly and mysteriously a shark can attack and also to make
the audience stick with the movie to find out what happens and
to maybe see what attacked the girl. With the well-known
backing track it makes the opening scene much better.
