What A cryptocurrency, sort of. It’s permissioned (unlike Bitcoin),
meaning only a few trusted entities can keep track of the ledger.
Stable? Libra is pegged to a group of “of low-volatility assets, including
bank deposits and government securities” in multiple currencies.
Interest Nope. Any interest from Libra will go primarily to Libra and then
to early Libra investors like… Facebook.
Why? A global coin. Low marginal cost. Access to stable currency
everywhere.
