 Does the focus on the design aesthetic enhance the user experience and usability? Justification below:
1. The Nest follows the traditional idea of round thermostats with red lines to indicate the real
temperature and change it to temperature you want, so this model feels more friendly and
intuitive to use.
2. The Sproutling is an invasive technology for babies that doesn’t look too much uncomfortable
for them and simple feels and transmits.
3. Most of the user experience moves around manipulation and both products are simple to
operate and offer information accurate and clearly.
4. Usability is not diminished by the design, so the original purpose of both items is not
compromised
5. There is also an identification with the devices because both can be controlled by
smartphones more familiar to everybody
6. Users can’t be defined but they can be categorized by the same needs, and it’s clear on the
design that creators of the products tried to model a product that resembles past experiences
with similar products, like the alarm on the phone, the human voice to alert, and others.
7. The design plus the capabilities of them make the Nest and the Sproutling totally desirable.
That is exactly the purpose of create products thinking on the customers first.
