2. The Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.) in
Primary Education (i.e., Elementary School)
is designed to prepare students to teach as
elementary school classroom teachers. The
major prepares graduates to teach language,
math, social studies, sciences, arts, and
physical education.
All graduates of the ITC also receive a minor
in Bible and are capable of teaching Bible at
the primary or secondary level.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English
Education is designed to prepare students as
secondary school English teachers (i.e., high
school). The major prepares students to be
general English teachers, including writing
and literature, as well as Teaching English as
a Foreign Language (TEFL).
The 144 credit ITC curriculum uses a
blended mode of instruction (combination
of online content and face-to-face
instruction).
Students participate in lectures, activities,
internships and a student teaching
practicum.
ITC’s unique educational partnership with Corban
University in Salem, Oregon (USA) allows ITC students
to receive not only an accredited bachelor of education
degree (S. Pd.) from Universitas Pelita Harapan, but
also an accredited education degree (B. Ed.) from
Corban University in the United States.
Graduates also receive five-year teaching
certification from the Association of Christian
Schools International (ACSI)

The mission of UPH is to provide holistic transformational learning rooted in

The International Teachers College (ITC) is a ministry of Universitas Pelita Harapan
(UPH) and aims to equip future teachers with international standard content
alongside research-based best practices within a distinctively Reformed theological
framework. Our goal is to produce students who contribute effectively to the
educational development and enterprise in their local countries, to the glory of God
and as a blessing to the nations through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Unity in Diversity” is the
motto of the country, and
constitutionally it has
been established as a
secular state.
Indonesia is the largest archipelago and the fourth
most populous country in the world. Consisting
of five main islands (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan,
Sulawesi, and Papua), it has a total of over 17,000
islands, about 6,000 of which are inhabited.
Indonesia is situated in Southeast Asia between the
continents of Asia and Australia and the Pacific and
Indian Oceans, and straddling the Equator. There are
hundreds of languages dialects spoken in Indonesia
with Bahasa Indonesia as the official national
language.
Indonesia is a leading member of ASEAN and
currently has the 16th largest economy in the world.
As an equatorial country, Indonesia’s climate is
tropical. The drier seasons usually occur between
June to September, whereas December to March
see abundant rain. Indonesia is a predominantly
moderate Muslim country that by law protects all
religions.
