Welcome to the world of Tunwase Schools, Ikeja, Lagos. Located on a hectare piece of
land in highbrow Ikeja, on 22, Akinola Cole Crescent, off Adeniyi Jones Avenue with a
serene environment which is close to the Ikeja Industrial area and also the residential
areas of Allen Avenue, Aromire, Adeniyi Jones and Ladipo Oluwole etc.
Tunwase School (The Nursery/ Primary School) was established in 1972 by the Late
renowned educationist, Mr. A.O. SANNI (MFR). It has since then turned out pupils who
have become adults and active players in the private and public sectors of the economy,
in industry, in the professions, in academia, in the service industry, etc.
In furthering the dream of its late founder, the Governing Council of the institution
established the Tunwase High School, Ikeja, within the same spacious environment in
2012. The pioneer students of 2012 are currently in Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS3)
and are being entered for the Junior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (JSSCE)
at the end of the current academic session 2014/2015.
ADMINISTRATION: The Board of Governors
The two schools are run by a Board of Governor under the Chairmanship of Dr. A.O.
SANNI, a medical practitioner, consultant surgeon and Traumatologist, director of
studies is Mrs. T.F. Kunle Agboluaje, Home Economist, educational administrator and a
retired Senior Inspector of Education ( Home Economics) in the Lagos State Ministry of
Education. Other Board Members include Dr. (Mrs) Anu Jonah, also a medical
Practitioner, Alhaji A.M. Olubajo, an educationist and Dr. O.A. Okutade, Principal,
Tunwase High School and Secretary to the Board.
The Board, like others of its description, is responsible for laying down the governing
policies of the institutions, which policies are to be implemented by the Management
The Management:
At the apex of management is the Director of the institution in the person of Mrs. T.F
Kunle-Agboluaje who brings to the institutions, over three decades of professional
experience (Post-NYSC) which spans classroom teaching
(Ilupeju College, Ilupeju, Lagos 1983 – 1985, 1986-1990), Schools, Inspector (as
Inspector and senior Inspector of Education Lagos State Ministry of Education (1990-
1994) and schools’ administration (1994 to date).

2. Directly in charge of day-to-day overseeing of the High School is the Principal, Dr. Dare
Okutade a graduate of the University of Ibadan, (B.Sc Bio.Chemistry 1985, PGDE 1990
and Ph.D Theology (2006). He is ably assisted by a teem of long-serving, dedicated and
highly committed teaching and support staff.
The Head Teacher of the nursery / primary section is Mrs. Tolu Olatunbosun, a 1998
graduate of Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos (B.A. ED English, NCE 1991).
Miss Salewa Sanni is a Director who is saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the
schools infrastructural development. A 2009 Graduate English Language from the
University of Lagos Akoka, also doubles as an English Language teacher in the
secondary school.
The aforementioned personnel form the Management team thyat steer the affairs of the
institutions.

The vision of the founder of Tunwase Schools is encapsulated as follows:
“ To provide forward – looking education in an environment of social unity which will
enable him / her make the most of his/her life as a person and as a citizen.”
“To raise world-class pupils and students that will be academically sound, morally
upright, well-nurtured in the fear of God, and have a good sense of service to the
community and the word at large” This is in tandem with the mottos of the schools.

A school situated in Ikeja, the capital city of Lagos State, in a sophisticated elite
environment, to be relevant, has to be alive to the needs and expectations of its

Co-Curricular Activities:
The Nursery School has taken part over the years in several invitational competitive
activities in which it has made its mark winning laurels and certificates.
So also it has participated in so many quizzes and debate programmes with several other
schools within the State, in which her pupils have excelled.
Products of our primary schools have been admitted and are still being admitted to public
and private secondary schools where the banners of Tunwase School have been held
high.
The Future:
The School is entering its first set of students for the Lagos State Junior Secondary
School certificate Examination this year (May / June 2015). It is hoped that they will
excel in line with the school’s commitment to excellence.
In addition, plans are in progress in future to prepare our secondary school students for
the following examinations.

iii. Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT)
