Evaluation Question 6:
For my photo-shoot I used a standard canon camera that I was not familiar with in order for
me to create my photo I learnt to use this camera efficiently. I managed to figure out the
camera very quickly; this would make thing easier in establishing my main image for my
magazine. I had to be aware of my surroundings so in that case I decided to use a green
room which enabled me to edit my picture on digital software such as Photoshop. This way I
was able to try out different types of angles. Lighting was crucial for my photo-shoot. As my
genre is hip hop and my model has brightly lit to fit the image, I needed lots of light and
angles technique to fit the convention of my magazine. If my picture were to dark, we would
make her face extremely bright and it would look unappealing which would spoil the picture
and my plans of my magazine.
For the construction of the magazine I used Adobe Photoshop. To begin with, I was unable
to use this program because I didn’t have an in-depth knowledge and little experience with
it at the past. Once starting the task I was trying to gain insight to how to use it. I quickly
begun to recall the basics and was able to use the tool towards my advantage for towards
making my magazine. Merging layers together and use of text for my magazine, if I didn’t
like something I would simply delete it. Initially I got to grips with it and found it is very
efficient and straight forward.
Tools used where such as Rectangle tool, Spot clearance tool, quick selection tools, crop tool
and magnetic lasso tool. Also I was able to adjust the brightness and the colour saturation of
the image. To make it look more vibrant or defined as I would like. Adjusting colour levels is
practically what determines the efficiency of how the image is going to stand in its colour
levels.
Using the camera was a durable easy task, as my model was very co-operative; taking the
pictures was an easy task. The lighting was a slight issue during the construction of my
magazine; I tried to make it a verisimilitude to present creations. I felt that, due to lack of
experience previously with Photoshop I would come across a milestone of problems.
However, there was a little obstruction in the creation and composition of my magazine.
Instead of limiting my ideas this technologies provided to me helped my boost my
potentials. My magazine looks very professional now.
Programs used for my evaluations:
As we had to use different types of media for our evaluation to show potential creativity, I
discovered many programs that I could use to tell my answers. All these programs I used
where ascent towards presentation of my work in a way, that is different from the usual
essay and allows me to express my creativity for the product. Stuff I used where Prezi,
Microsoft power point, Animoto, Slideshare, Stupeflix, and many more.
