Subject :- Project Management How does the WBS differ from the project network? Why is \"slack\" important to the project manager? Solution WBS refers to a deliverable oriented hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team to accomplish the project objectives and create the required deliverabless A project network is a graphical flow chart and has early and late starts, the project job plan that is developed from the WBS .It is used to identify the critical path and understand how best to sequnce the activities. Slack is important when managing a project because it\'s is very rare that things don\'t change while working on a project. Budgets change, schedules change, available resources change and so do task priorities. Without slack time it\'ll be very challenging to be able to manage the project in a flexible way without causing tasks to be stuck or not have time to handle urgent things that were introduced.
