How has your new knowledge of standard protocol of intervention for tiers 1, 2 and 3 compare with current school practices when it comes to aligning intervention resources with your students’ needs?Required Readings: Chapter 3 Session Description: Well-engineered universal Tier 1 policies, procedures and programs go a long way in communicating expectations for expected behavior on a school campus. However, despite efforts to effectively support student academics and behavior both school-wide and within the classroom environment, these structures and supports cannot meet the needs of every student. There will always be a small percentage of students who have difficulty meeting either/both academic and behavior expectations. This is the rationale for creating a B-RtI Framework that will support both an efficient problem solving process and evidence-based protocol of interventions that can be effectively matched to student need.
