6. History
Polish history is very long. The most
important things:
First people who came and lived on
Polish territory were Slavic.
Next we had kings. The last one was
Stanisław August Poniatowski.
In 1772 there was 1st partition of
Poland. Poland was divided into 3
parts: Russian, Austrian and
Prussian.
In 1918 Poland appeared on the
maps again.
We survived the Second World War
but the we became a communist
country under power of the USSR.
We have been free since 1989. In
1990 we voted for our 1st president.
Poland now is a democratic country.
7. The North- land of water
On the north we’ve got the
Baltic Sea. In many cities like
Sopot or Gdańsk you can swim
or sunbathe on the beach. In
Gdańsk you can see a big port.
Sopot has a beautiful 511
metres long sea pier– the
longest in Europe.
Mazury is in the north-east of
Poland. It’s a beautiful place of
many lakes. You can sail and
enjoy pretty views there.
8. The South
Our country has many
resources like wood or steel.
Śląsk is famous for its coal
deposits.
We’ve got the Karpaty
mountains in the south-east
and the Sudety mountains in
the south-west. Many tourists
come here every year to see
beautiful animals, plants and
to breath fresh air. The highest
