has come alongside in
Brunei, Vietnam, and
Singapore in our conduct of
Operation Projection. We
have also completed our
operational transit of the
South China Sea.

7. Fun Facts about HMCS Calgary
• Eggs – 53 cases -19000 eggs – 36 eggs per sailor since we sailed
• Bacon - 350Kg/ 770lbs – That’s 3lbs of bacon per sailor since we left
• Milk - 2000Litres – 5000 cups – 20 cup of milk drank by each sailor (we use
a lot for cooking)
• Chocolate Milk – 500Litres – 2000cups – Almost 8 cups of Chocolate milk
per sailor
• Coffee – 1000 L – 16 Cups average per sailor
• Ice Cream – 400L of Ice Cream eaten!

8. Morale Update – How is your Calgary Family feeling?
• After several anonymous interviews with crew
members, morale is generally reported as
better than expected.
• Crew is hopeful that vaccinations will allow
more freedom during port visits.
• Fatigue wise, a desire for more rest during
port visits was a common expression.
• The new IS2S (Ship’s internet) system is an
absolute game changer for those deployed
away from close family.
• Calgary has “a good crew” where for the
most part people get along quite well.
