Team Report Guidelines
A 12 – 15 page report of the analysis is required using 12 point font, double-spacing, and following APA’s writing style. Only one report is needed for each team. For the purpose of this project, use the text chapters assigned for this course in addition to any other available references such as books, journals, newspaper, internet information, or a direct interview (in case of an interview) as resources for your research. Teams are to cite at least ten (10) references for their analysis. This means that teams are to refer to the information in these sources in a relevant way throughout the paper using APA format. At least five (5) references must be journal articles from scholarly sources using the University of La Verne’s Wilson library or Google Scholar searches. The remainder of the team’s references can come from a wide variety of non-scholarly sources including newspapers, business magazines, and professional organizations. Please have a list of references on a separate page at the end of the document.
Although not required, please also consider conducting an interview(s) with a member(s) of the organization. If your team does conduct interviews, include the interview questions in the report.
In the report you need to apply the concepts learned during the course to describe and assess the organization. A description and assessment of the following components of the organization must be included in your report:
1. Vision, mission, strategies, and goals
1. Culture and ethics including its use of teams
1. Environment Comment by JINGDAO QIAN: My part
1. Leadership styles and effectiveness
1. Evaluate overall effectiveness and recommend changes
1. Training and workforce diversity
Presentation Guidelines
A 30-minute PowerPoint presentation with slides is required. Each team member is expected to participate in the presentation. Your team should focus on trying to make the presentation interesting and informative to the class. Remember, your team will be the "experts" on this subject after they have finished researching the topic. Comment by JINGDAO QIAN: 12 slides wil be enough, better be content-wise, for presentation.
Presentation of the Organization Analysis Project must be professional with minimal, if any, direct reading of your report. Be sure to enhance your presentation by citing relevant literature and including appropriate pictures and video clips related to the organization and your analysis.
Important Note:
To keep within the 30 minute time limit, only present on four components from A to F of the report. However, you must include component A the company’s vision, mission, strategies, and goals. In addition, you must also provide an evaluation of the organization’s overall effectiveness and the team’s recommendations based on the concepts learned in the course (component E).

Your team will need to claim the organization you will report
on. Only one team can write a report about and present on the
3. same company. A company can only be used by one team.
A good starting point to search companies and is a library guide
from Cornell University available at this link:
http://guides.library.cornell.edu/companypractices. However,
you will need to use the resources from the University of La
Verne’s Wilson library http://library.laverne.edu/ to access the
databases listed in the guide.
The Wilson Library link http://library.laverne.edu/find-
articles.php will explain how to search for articles while this

explain the composition of an empirical article.
This short Cornell University video

listed in the “Notes” at the end of the chapter in the course text
is also helpful.
