Friedrich Wilhelm 's Impact On Education
Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel lived from April 21, 1782 to June 21, 1852. He was a German teacher, and he laid out the foundation for modern
education. His observations and actions were based on the recognition that all children have different needs and capabilities, which at the time was a
milestone in education. Furthermore, he invented the concept of "kindergarten," and he also created the educational toys that are known as Froebel
Gifts. Froebel is from Oberweissbach, Schwarzburg–Rudolstadt, Germany. Shortly after his birth, Froebel's mother 's health began to fail. When he
was nine months old, she died, which greatly impacted his life. In 1792, Froebel moved to the small town of Stadt–Ilm with his uncle. Then, at the age

Later, in 1840, he invented the word for the institute, which is where the term "kindergarten" comes from. Friedrich Froebel continued on to
design his Froebel Gifts, which are educational toys that include geometric building blocks and pattern activity blocks. They were called "gifts"
because they were given to the the children as gifts, and they also act as tools for adults to observe the human "gifts" each individual child
possesses. According to Froebel 's method, one can observe the qualities and ideas that make each child unique when they are able to explore and
create. Froebel 's main goal was to recognise how important it is for children to learn, and show how his Gifts could help. Additionally, he intended to
introduce young children to the adult world to help their minds grow and develop thoughtfully. He introduced the concept of "free work" into teaching
and class work. Some activities that took place in the first kindergarten involved singing, dancing, gardening and playing with the Froebel Gifts. It is
assumed by modern historians that Froebel spent a lot of time observing children and creating the designs for the Gifts. He simply named them as
Gifts One through Ten. These Gifts are different from other materials used in kindergartens, because they have the capability to return to their original
form when they are done being used. An important part of playing with the Gifts is that the Gifts are always presented as a whole form, and when the

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Parrquet Floor
Pros and Cons of Parquet Floors
Advantages of Parquet Floors
Parquet floors are one of different styles available for designing wooden floors. Parquetry flooring can be considered to be a more specific type of
mosaic flooring. In parquetry geometric wooden shapes are used to create patterns on the floor. Hardwood is the category of wood employed for
parquetry.
Parquet floors are made up of any kind of wood whether it is oak, cherry, walnut, pine etc. The various wooden pieces are often created using
different types of woods and different kinds of wood grains. The pattern created in a parquet floor can be a large one. In many cases, the pattern
encompasses the entire floor area of a room. Sometimes, smaller designs and patterns are created in the form of a tile. These identical tiles are then
used all over the room to create a flooring pattern. Therefore, no two floor look similar when it comes to parquet flooring.
пЃ¶Advantages of parquet flooring:
The popularity of parquetry flooring is due to many factors. It is the most popular kind of hard wood flooring.

Scratches do not form easily on parquet floors. If there is found any scratch, you can easily wipe it out with vinyl. In fact these floors are very
resistant to accidental scratches. Unlike other kinds of floors, a parquet floor will not be affected with the normal wear and tear that slowly
damages the other kinds of floors. It is the presence of the hardwood which is responsible for the durable and resistive properties of the parquet floors.
If a parquet floor is constructed from a good quality of hardwood, the floor can last at least for 50 years. There will be no need to perform any
restorations or renovations for a long period of time in the case of parquet

Art In Art
Throughout history, art has served as a photograph of the past. Art has helped us understand the past and gave us clue on how the people on that era led
their life. Art has also helped us understand each era's beliefs and ideas. From the 400s through the early Renaissance, the majority of art in Europe was
rooted in Christianity. However, beginning with the Renaissance, art has become more secular. The transforming power structure of Europe, the
Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment have contributed to the shift which resulted in a tension between the authority of the Catholic Church
and the secular European Monarchies. By looking at two arts from these era, we can see the political, intellectual, and cultural changes in Europe.
1.The Transforming Power Structure of Europe (Church vs Kings) In France, a portrait of Louis XIV by Hyacinthe Rigaud and the architecture of the
palace at Versailles shows the shift of power from the authority of the Catholic Church towards the secular French monarchy. Under Louis XIV, France
became an absolute monarchy where full power resided with the king. As an absolute monarch, Louis was not subject to any constitutional limitations,
leading him to declare "I'etat, c'est moi" which means "I am the state". He ruled by the concept of divine right which means receiving his authority
directly from God and refused to share authority with the church. He became known as the Sun King and declared himself the center of the universe. In

Essay on Immortality and Myth in The Age of Innocence
Immortality and Myth in The Age of Innocence Edith Wharton's books are considered, by some, merely popular fiction of her time. But we must be
careful not to equate popularity with the value of the fiction; i.e., we must not assume that if her books are popular, they are also primitive. Compared
to the works of her contemporary and friend, Henry James, whose books may seem complex and sometimes bewildering; Wharton's The Age of
Innocence appears to be a simplistic, gossipy commentary of New York society during the last decade of the 19th century*. Instead, it is one man's
struggle with the questions of mortality and immortality. Wharton's characters, settings and the minutiae of social rituals, manners, speech habits, dress

Urns and wall paintings tell us about the mythical characters' predilection for a sensual life; this compares to Wharton's characters' penchant for their
own hedonistic life of carousing, sexual cavorting and dizzy social calendars of parties and operas. The Greeks, mythical and real, were masters of
architecture and decoration, which to this day, attest to their immortality. Wharton pays great attention to the mansions and embellishments of the New
York houses. Her society attempts to be immortal in its own buildings; and by amassing ornate bits and bobbles from ages past and paintings and
decorations, the society feels it will live on forever: Then the house had been boldly planned with a ball–room, so that, instead of squeezing through a
narrow passage to get to it (as at the Chiverses') one marched solemnly down a vista of enfiladed drawing–rooms (the sea–green, the crimson and the
botron d'or), seeing from afar the many–candled lustres reflected in the polished parquetry, and beyond that the depths of a conservatory where
camellias and tree–ferns arched their costly foliage over seats of black and gold Bamboo.
Wharton's characters, albeit mortal beings, are made immortal and some can even be compared with mythical characters. We'll begin with the lesser
characters. Newland Archer's sister, Janey who: "was subject to starts and

Short Story
Her words twirled around me like a ribbon, swirling like the silky curls that framed her face. She had always been good at pretending. Her laughter
covered the iciness in the hospital room like a blanket, hiding it from sight. The window muffled the desperate screams of the trees breaking against the
harsh wind.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
"Charles and I always talk about how clumsy I am. If he wasn't a surgeon, I'd probably be dead!" Her cheerful chirp pulled me from my thoughts,
eliciting a chuckle that forced its way out of my mouth. After everything that had happened, I still adored her, which would disgust the nurse if she
knew the truth. "I'm so grateful Charles found me, it was quite a nasty fall. It's frightening how accidents like this can ... Show more content on

Slowly the ribbon began to fray, but it danced so vivaciously that I didn't notice. Loving words and sweet embraces became harsh insults, broken
vases, timid pleas and apologetic hind sights. Her parents had filed claims for domestic violence multiple times during the first year of our marriage.
But each time the police arrived at our house and questioned me, Jo charmed them away with her demeanour. I was a doctor, my job was to heal, why
would I hurt my own wife? When they spotted the bruises, she would laugh it away as clumsiness and offer them dinner. Her ribbon had wrapped itself
around their eyes, and eventually they stopped coming.
Every kick, every punch, every bloodstain was just a form of stress relief. I told myself the same thing every day, "It won't happen again, I promise. I
love her and she loves me. It won't happen again." But it did, and soon her ribbon transformed into something else entirely.
But this morning was too much. I didn't mean for her to end up in hospital. She was wrong about me, she thought I wasn't capable of it. So did I.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
I remember the blood, dripping slowly onto the parquetry. I remember the gasps, the pleas, the screams. I remember the blow that landed Joanna in
hospital.
When we go home it will be different now. She knows what I can do. She thought that she had me in her control. The few times I had tried to stand up
to her had only led to more scars. Every

The Sanctuary of the Family Cabin Essay
The Sanctuary of the Family Cabin
The TV in my room blares the sounds of some show in which I am not even interested. There is too much on my mind for me to worry about the show
on television.
"I need money. I need a job. My car needs gas. What am I going to do when school starts this fall? My life is going downhill. I need to get away."
Just before my mind explodes, my father comes in and says, "Let's go to the cabin."
That is exactly what I have needed. My family's cabin has been my sanctuary for years. It is where I go when I need to get away from the chaos of
everyday life. It is this way for not only me, but also for many family members of the three generations who go there.
I stick my hand out of the window of my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I look down, I realize that parts of the stairs are buried from dirt sliding down the mountain.
I finally make it to the old wooden deck that extends across the front of the cabin. I look at the old wood under my feet and wonder how it could
possibly hold my weight. The rest of the deck however is beautiful. My uncles have recently replaced the old wood framing roof. They also repainted
the four pillars holding it and the railing on the side a dark forest green. The entire cabin is covered in a light tan–brown color to keep a natural look. I
walk to the middle where a group of three trees project out just inches away from the deck. This was my fortress of solitude for many years as a
child. I look over the deck at the lake and woodland forest surrounding me. The aroma of the evergreens surrounds me, leaving my mind wonderfully
peaceful.
After taking in the beautiful scenery from the deck for a couple of seconds, I walk over to where the key is hidden and place it in the new locks on
a heavy, polished, new wooden door. I hear the deadbolt click and twist the knob on the door. It creaks open, and a dark, but extremely welcoming
sight greets me. It has been nearly a year since I last saw this stunning place.
I have barely opened the door and already, a feeling of complete serenity has almost totally encompassed me. The scent that I remember so well flows
out from the cabin and into my nose. It is a mixture of

What Is Engineered Wood Flooring
Q: Will my engineered hardwood flooring fade over time?
All hardwood flooring naturally reacts to ambient light as it ages, but direct sunlight exposure can darken or lighten an exposed area. An aluminum
oxide finish paired with a UV coating helps slow this shading process. Also be mindful of occasionally moving your furniture and rugs around the
room to prevent noticeable spots from forming. Mats and rugs with latex, vinyl or rubber backing also contribute to floor discoloration. Choose an
underlay that has a breathable mesh or grid pattern.
Q: Can I restore my engineered hardwood floors?
The short answer is yes, but there are multiple factors to consider before restoring an engineered floor. Since the planks have a thin veneer of
hardwood, you only have so much product to sand down before hitting the core layer. The sanding process removes 1/32 of an inch, so a 2–mm layer
can be sanded once or twice. In contrast, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to statistics compiled by the National Wood Flooring Association, "wood flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material
available." Although hardwood trees typically take 40 to 60 years to mature for harvesting, they are growing faster than they are being removed.
Hardwood floors are believed to improve indoor air quality, require less water and energy to produce than other flooring and outlast every other
option by decades. Additionally, trees milled for flooring are harvested from responsibly managed forests or reclaimed wood from old buildings.
Engineered hardwood shares many of these same benefits although the product has a much shorter lifespan even when you factor in the ability to
refinish the flooring. However, the amount of raw material needed to produce a thin veneer skin is far less than what is required to make a solid
wood plank. Since it is mostly made from organic material, engineered hardwood can be salvaged and recycled to expand its

Essay about LITERATIVE REVIEW
LITERATIVE REVIEW
The purpose of my literature review is to examine the various
therapeutic intervention strategies being administered to adult and
children who have perceptual, spacial, gross and fine motor proficient
disabilities. Furthermore what approaches appear to be working in their
rehabilitation process. adults with perceptual dysfunction secondary to
brain injury often includes Occupational therapy has been one of the
main therapeutic strategies used for perceptual retraining according to
(Holzer, Strassny, Senner–Hurley & Lefkowitz, 1982; Hopkins & Smith,
1983; Prigitano, 1986; Siev Freishtat, & Zoltan, 1986; Trombly, 1983, Van

Neurodevelopmental treatment deals with proprioceptive and Kinesthetic
perceptious as they relate to functional movement patterns. These
approaches provide training in the perceptual processing components of
functional behavior with perceptual drills or specific sequences of
sensorimotor exercises.
These are the common assumptions underlying the adaptive and
remedial treatments used currently. Occupational therapy's perceptual
retraining literature includes description of both adaptive and remedial
approaches. (Siev et al. 1986), for
example four perceptual treatment Approaches for adults:
A) Sensory integration
B) Transfer of training
C) Functional training and
D) Neurodevelopmental.
Three of these approaches – sensory integration, transfer of training,
and neurodevelopmental can be classified as remedial because their
underlying assumptions match the remedial assumption outlined
previously such as the retraining sequences.
In the sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approaches,
the therapist provides controlled vestibular, tactile, proprioceptive, and
kenesthetic stimulation to promote normal central nervous system
processing of sensory information. Theoretically, because perceptual
motor behaviors are performed in response to the nervous systems
interpretation of sensory inputs, normal sensory processing should help
the client to make more

Art Deco Deco: The Basic Elements Of Art Deco
Art Deco Interior Design
There is something special about art deco interior design. It just does not seem to want to be defined. The unpredictable collision of completely
distinct elements is what encapsulates the marvels of eclecticism. The earth is filled with strange varieties of flora and fauna, vast deserts and diverse
rainforests as well as bucolic surroundings and urban landscapes yet its life is sustained and its growth is unceasing. Every little thing in this planet
coincides with each other resulting to a magnificent spectacle of natural beauty hence, the earth can be considered as one of the quintessential
representations of the success of diversified combinations, the symbol of the marvelous eclectic. Just as a branch of a tree is part of the whole, a

It is only in this unique style of decorating that one can see the juxtaposition of a multitude of design elements coming from the fascinating Egyptian
and Assyrian period, classical features of Greek and Roman arts and architecture, and the opulent design flavors of Africa and Mexico. It is truly a
grand phenomenon how these elements came together and collided magnificently. Extremely singular motifs such as geometric and subtle curvilinear
forms and shapes were utilized in interior and furniture design. The repeated chevron patterns on the flooring materials, as well as the Egyptian
fretworks in decorative interior screens and wallpapers spell Art Deco in its most visible appearance. Sunbursts, ziggurat, trapezoids and other
polygonal shapes are just some of the various motifs incorporated in interior furnishings and accessories in the house. The gates, doors and windows
that were designed when this style was popular tended to be intricately detailed with a repetition of these motifs as well as diamonds, curves,
overlapping fans and arch shapes. They were made from glass and wrought iron framed in

  • 3. Friedrich Wilhelm 's Impact On Education Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel lived from April 21, 1782 to June 21, 1852. He was a German teacher, and he laid out the foundation for modern education. His observations and actions were based on the recognition that all children have different needs and capabilities, which at the time was a milestone in education. Furthermore, he invented the concept of "kindergarten," and he also created the educational toys that are known as Froebel Gifts. Froebel is from Oberweissbach, Schwarzburg–Rudolstadt, Germany. Shortly after his birth, Froebel's mother 's health began to fail. When he was nine months old, she died, which greatly impacted his life. In 1792, Froebel moved to the small town of Stadt–Ilm with his uncle. Then, at the age of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later, in 1840, he invented the word for the institute, which is where the term "kindergarten" comes from. Friedrich Froebel continued on to design his Froebel Gifts, which are educational toys that include geometric building blocks and pattern activity blocks. They were called "gifts" because they were given to the the children as gifts, and they also act as tools for adults to observe the human "gifts" each individual child possesses. According to Froebel 's method, one can observe the qualities and ideas that make each child unique when they are able to explore and create. Froebel 's main goal was to recognise how important it is for children to learn, and show how his Gifts could help. Additionally, he intended to introduce young children to the adult world to help their minds grow and develop thoughtfully. He introduced the concept of "free work" into teaching and class work. Some activities that took place in the first kindergarten involved singing, dancing, gardening and playing with the Froebel Gifts. It is assumed by modern historians that Froebel spent a lot of time observing children and creating the designs for the Gifts. He simply named them as Gifts One through Ten. These Gifts are different from other materials used in kindergartens, because they have the capability to return to their original form when they are done being used. An important part of playing with the Gifts is that the Gifts are always presented as a whole form, and when the time to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Are The Pros And Cons Of Parrquet Floor Pros and Cons of Parquet Floors Advantages of Parquet Floors Parquet floors are one of different styles available for designing wooden floors. Parquetry flooring can be considered to be a more specific type of mosaic flooring. In parquetry geometric wooden shapes are used to create patterns on the floor. Hardwood is the category of wood employed for parquetry. Parquet floors are made up of any kind of wood whether it is oak, cherry, walnut, pine etc. The various wooden pieces are often created using different types of woods and different kinds of wood grains. The pattern created in a parquet floor can be a large one. In many cases, the pattern encompasses the entire floor area of a room. Sometimes, smaller designs and patterns are created in the form of a tile. These identical tiles are then used all over the room to create a flooring pattern. Therefore, no two floor look similar when it comes to parquet flooring. пЃ¶Advantages of parquet flooring: The popularity of parquetry flooring is due to many factors. It is the most popular kind of hard wood flooring. Parquetry Looks Incredible The finished look is one of the major considerations whenever a flooring style is being chosen. Unlike other kinds of floors, a parquet floor will not be affected with the normal wear and tear that slowly damages the other kinds of floors. It is the presence of the hardwood which is responsible for the durable and resistive properties of the parquet floors. If a parquet floor is constructed from a good quality of hardwood, the floor can last at least for 50 years. There will be no need to perform any restorations or renovations for a long period of time in the case of parquet

  • 6. Art In Art Throughout history, art has served as a photograph of the past. Art has helped us understand the past and gave us clue on how the people on that era led their life. Art has also helped us understand each era's beliefs and ideas. From the 400s through the early Renaissance, the majority of art in Europe was rooted in Christianity. However, beginning with the Renaissance, art has become more secular. The transforming power structure of Europe, the Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment have contributed to the shift which resulted in a tension between the authority of the Catholic Church and the secular European Monarchies. By looking at two arts from these era, we can see the political, intellectual, and cultural changes in Europe. 1.The Transforming Power Structure of Europe (Church vs Kings) In France, a portrait of Louis XIV by Hyacinthe Rigaud and the architecture of the palace at Versailles shows the shift of power from the authority of the Catholic Church towards the secular French monarchy. Under Louis XIV, France became an absolute monarchy where full power resided with the king. As an absolute monarch, Louis was not subject to any constitutional limitations, leading him to declare "I'etat, c'est moi" which means "I am the state". He ruled by the concept of divine right which means receiving his authority directly from God and refused to share authority with the church. He became known as the Sun King and declared himself the center of the universe. In his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on Immortality and Myth in The Age of Innocence Immortality and Myth in The Age of Innocence Edith Wharton's books are considered, by some, merely popular fiction of her time. But we must be careful not to equate popularity with the value of the fiction; i.e., we must not assume that if her books are popular, they are also primitive. Compared to the works of her contemporary and friend, Henry James, whose books may seem complex and sometimes bewildering; Wharton's The Age of Innocence appears to be a simplistic, gossipy commentary of New York society during the last decade of the 19th century*. Instead, it is one man's struggle with the questions of mortality and immortality. Wharton's characters, settings and the minutiae of social rituals, manners, speech habits, dress and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Urns and wall paintings tell us about the mythical characters' predilection for a sensual life; this compares to Wharton's characters' penchant for their own hedonistic life of carousing, sexual cavorting and dizzy social calendars of parties and operas. The Greeks, mythical and real, were masters of architecture and decoration, which to this day, attest to their immortality. Wharton pays great attention to the mansions and embellishments of the New York houses. Her society attempts to be immortal in its own buildings; and by amassing ornate bits and bobbles from ages past and paintings and decorations, the society feels it will live on forever: Then the house had been boldly planned with a ball–room, so that, instead of squeezing through a narrow passage to get to it (as at the Chiverses') one marched solemnly down a vista of enfiladed drawing–rooms (the sea–green, the crimson and the botron d'or), seeing from afar the many–candled lustres reflected in the polished parquetry, and beyond that the depths of a conservatory where camellias and tree–ferns arched their costly foliage over seats of black and gold Bamboo. Wharton's characters, albeit mortal beings, are made immortal and some can even be compared with mythical characters. We'll begin with the lesser characters. Her laughter covered the iciness in the hospital room like a blanket, hiding it from sight. The window muffled the desperate screams of the trees breaking against the harsh wind. Drip. Drip. Drip. "Charles and I always talk about how clumsy I am. If he wasn't a surgeon, I'd probably be dead!" Her cheerful chirp pulled me from my thoughts, eliciting a chuckle that forced its way out of my mouth. But each time the police arrived at our house and questioned me, Jo charmed them away with her demeanour. I was a doctor, my job was to heal, why would I hurt my own wife? When they spotted the bruises, she would laugh it away as clumsiness and offer them dinner. Her ribbon had wrapped itself around their eyes, and eventually they stopped coming. Every kick, every punch, every bloodstain was just a form of stress relief. I told myself the same thing every day, "It won't happen again, I promise. I love her and she loves me. It won't happen again." But it did, and soon her ribbon transformed into something else entirely. But this morning was too much. I didn't mean for her to end up in hospital. • 11. The Sanctuary of the Family Cabin Essay The Sanctuary of the Family Cabin The TV in my room blares the sounds of some show in which I am not even interested. There is too much on my mind for me to worry about the show on television. "I need money. I need a job. My car needs gas. What am I going to do when school starts this fall? My life is going downhill. I need to get away." Just before my mind explodes, my father comes in and says, "Let's go to the cabin." That is exactly what I have needed. My family's cabin has been my sanctuary for years. It is where I go when I need to get away from the chaos of everyday life. When I look down, I realize that parts of the stairs are buried from dirt sliding down the mountain. I finally make it to the old wooden deck that extends across the front of the cabin. I look at the old wood under my feet and wonder how it could possibly hold my weight. The rest of the deck however is beautiful. My uncles have recently replaced the old wood framing roof. They also repainted the four pillars holding it and the railing on the side a dark forest green. The entire cabin is covered in a light tan–brown color to keep a natural look. I walk to the middle where a group of three trees project out just inches away from the deck. This was my fortress of solitude for many years as a child. I look over the deck at the lake and woodland forest surrounding me. The aroma of the evergreens surrounds me, leaving my mind wonderfully peaceful. After taking in the beautiful scenery from the deck for a couple of seconds, I walk over to where the key is hidden and place it in the new locks on a heavy, polished, new wooden door. I hear the deadbolt click and twist the knob on the door. It creaks open, and a dark, but extremely welcoming sight greets me. It has been nearly a year since I last saw this stunning place. I have barely opened the door and already, a feeling of complete serenity has almost totally encompassed me. The scent that I remember so well flows

  • 13. What Is Engineered Wood Flooring Q: Will my engineered hardwood flooring fade over time? All hardwood flooring naturally reacts to ambient light as it ages, but direct sunlight exposure can darken or lighten an exposed area. An aluminum oxide finish paired with a UV coating helps slow this shading process. Also be mindful of occasionally moving your furniture and rugs around the room to prevent noticeable spots from forming. Mats and rugs with latex, vinyl or rubber backing also contribute to floor discoloration. Choose an underlay that has a breathable mesh or grid pattern. Q: Can I restore my engineered hardwood floors? The short answer is yes, but there are multiple factors to consider before restoring an engineered floor. Since the planks have a thin veneer of hardwood, you only have so much product to sand down before hitting the core layer. The sanding process removes 1/32 of an inch, so a 2–mm layer can be sanded once or twice. In contrast, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to statistics compiled by the National Wood Flooring Association, "wood flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available." Although hardwood trees typically take 40 to 60 years to mature for harvesting, they are growing faster than they are being removed. Hardwood floors are believed to improve indoor air quality, require less water and energy to produce than other flooring and outlast every other option by decades. Additionally, trees milled for flooring are harvested from responsibly managed forests or reclaimed wood from old buildings. Engineered hardwood shares many of these same benefits although the product has a much shorter lifespan even when you factor in the ability to refinish the flooring. However, the amount of raw material needed to produce a thin veneer skin is far less than what is required to make a solid wood plank. Extremely singular motifs such as geometric and subtle curvilinear forms and shapes were utilized in interior and furniture design. The repeated chevron patterns on the flooring materials, as well as the Egyptian fretworks in decorative interior screens and wallpapers spell Art Deco in its most visible appearance.
