Romeo And Juliet By William Shakespeare Analysis
Death means the ending of life. Death could also be a beautiful or tragic scene of the ending of life. The after life can be a tragic or a beautiful
place. These views on death can be expressed with written literature including poems. "Cremation of Sam Mcgee" by Robert Service, Prologue to
Romeo and Juliet, by William shakespeare, and "Annabelle Lee" By Edgar Allen Poe all have something in commo:death can be either beautiful or
tragic. "The Cremation of Sam Mcgee' can show readers that death can be very tragic. Much like the first poem Prologue to Romeo and Juliet shows
that death can also be very tragic. Contradicting these poems "Annabel Lee' shoes that death can be a very beautiful event. The three poems can show
the reader that death can leave a hole in your heart or can can make your heart even bigger and happier.
In the Poem "Cremation of Sam Mcgee" written by Robert Service, we learn that the poem conveys the message that Death is tragic.
In the poem Prologue to Romeo and Juliet by William shakespeare we learn that death is very tragic. The children are going to have to die in order to

Imagery enhances this line in the poem by allowing the reader to imagine what it looks like. Meter enhances this line in the poem by contradicting the
message with something positive with "A wind blew out of a cloud by night/chilling my beautiful Annabel Lee." This quote proves the topic with the
words chilling and killing my Annabel Lee. These words mean that the author does love her and still thinks that she is beautiful even after she has
died. Meter enhances the poem by making something that is very tragic sound less tragic. The last quote has imagery in it so it helps it by "Can ever

The Statement For The Politics Of Plato 's Kallipolis
First Term Essay Assignment: The absence of reason is where persuasion is most powerful
Question: The analogy Socrates and his companions make between the just city and the just person falls apart on close inspection. The commoners and
auxiliaries are persuaded by the myth of the metals that the guardians are best suited to rule, but it 's nonsensical to believe that spirit and appetite can
be persuaded of anything. After all, they are merely constituent parts of the soul (the parts lacking a deliberative capacity). Only a fully formed human
being with a capacity for reason can understand the Noble Lie and be persuaded by it." Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Defend your
position through a close reading of the text. Be sure to explore the implications of the statement for the politics of Plato 's kallipolis.

Like a castle of cards, once the bottom row falls the rest will soon follow. In the search for justice in the Republic, an analogy is formed but quickly
falls apart under pressure. Its basis being made by hypothetical assumptions foreshadows its unviability and portrays many inconsistencies. Through the
comparison of the Allegory of the Cave and the Noble lie, the commonly shared notion that appetite and spirit cannot be persuaded is shattered.
Individuals can be persuaded by the myth of the metals because even in

How Does Reverend Hale Change In The Crucible
The play The Crucible has many themes including change and transformation, In the play written by Arthur Miller, one of the characters, Reverend
Hale, goes through a transformation from the beginning, to the end of the play. He changes from a know–it–all, arrogant person to an open minded
human being, who wants nothing but the truth. In the beginning of the play Reverend Hale has a big ego, thinks he knows everything, and believes
his way of doing things is the only way to do something. Reverend Hale believes "the Devil can never overcome a minister..."(43). Hale is cocky and
arrogant. He thinks nothing, not even the Devil, can take him down. Reverend Hale also acts like a know–it–all. He has to "...Instruct you... the Devil
is precise... the marks of his presence are as definite as stone..." (35). Hale believes he is the master of all things Devil Related. He thinks he knows
everything. Reverend Hale also thinks that he is in charge. Hale tells the people of Salem that they can not decide on things (65). He really believes
that he in charge of these people. Reverend Hale thinks that only the way he decides matters. In the beginning of this play Reverend Hale is

Reverend is finally starting to see things as they truly are. When Hale finally realises that he was wrong he does everything he can to make sure the
truth is known. Reverend Hale yells at Danforth about how Mary Warren has gone mad. Hale is trying his best to stop the lie of witchcraft in Salem.

Short Story Essay : The Story Of My Life
The Story of My Life
"They judge me like a picture book, by the colors like they forgot to read"–Lana del rey. Proving that people tend to judge without allowing themselves
to give me a chance. They always go with what their eyes tell, but they should know that I'm more than what I appear to be.
My way of being deals many with my likes and dislikes and thanks to that, it has turned me into who I am obviously. It is those little occasions in
life that have helped me see things from a different perspective , you know, see the world in a unique way. There are so many things I like, of
course I cannot name them all because I probably don't even know them yet, but just like there's things Id die for, there's also things I really wouldn't.
For example, I hate lies. I hate being lied to and the feeling you get after realizing someone has lied to you. I hate feeling betrayed honestly. I feel like
the worst thing a person can do to me is lie, especially when it's a person I know from long ago. I ask myself, why do people lie? What do they get out
of a lie anyway? Yes , thetruth hurts sometimes and that stinks, but a person who tells the truth is more respected and more trustworthy than a person
who lies. Most of the people prefer a beautiful lie over the ugly truth and that is just not right because lies are just empty words without meaning, full
of fake hope and happiness and even though they are full of such beautiful things, it is still a lie, and sadly it is all fake.

Stereotypes On The Internet, TV, And Magazines
Whenever we go on the internet or look in magazines we see these beautiful people and most men and women aspire to look just like them. But
again it's all but one big lie. What we see on the internet, TV, and magazines is the work of Photoshop, makeup, filters, and much more. Those
people are not real, they do not look like that once they wake up, and it's nothing but a lie. Yet people still believe that it's real since the camera
never lies. Day after day I see girls and women, boys and men hating themselves all because from an image that is not real, an image that has been
made by the computer. On Instagram, there was a trend going around where girls and women would try to get "thigh gaps" which are exactly what
they sound like, a gap in–between their thighs. To achieve these "thigh gaps" some women and girls would go on diets or some would just stop
eating to lose weight just so they can be a part of the trend. The sad thing is that this trend was started with a few pictures of celebrates that were made
by the computer. Not once did they stop to question it. Not once did they stop to think.

Similarities Between Abigail And Elizabeth In The Crucible
Abigail and Elizabeth In today's society, many women are stereotyped as people who would do anything for a man that they love. This topic is seen a
lot in modern literature. Some women are generally described as weak people who cannot live without a man, and would do anything for love. Other
women, though, are described as lecherous women who will do anything in their power to act on their strong feelings of desire. In The Crucible, Arthur
Miller shows both kinds of women through Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor. Abigail and Elizabeth are seen as complete opposites through
characterization, but they are strongly motivated by the same man, and in the end they both contribute to his death. Arthur Miller describes Abigail
Williams and Elizabeth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the play, Abigail started lying to protect herself from being charged for witchcraft. She also had to lie to cover up her affair
with John, but when other people in Salem started to turn on John she would not tell the truth to help save him. When John Proctor is in court, he
revels Abigail's motivations and tells and tells judge Danforth about their affair. Abigail, selfishly knowing that the truth would contribute to her
downfall, screams to the court "Mr. Danforth, he [Proctor] is lying!"(202) here, Abigail is lying and causes Proctor to be put in jail. Similarly,
Elizabeth's lie also leads to Proctors downfall. Elizabeth was a very honest person, but to save her husband's life she told a very significant lie. Not
knowing she was being questioned to prove John's honesty, she tells the court "I think he [John] fancied her [Abigail]. And one night I lost my wits, I
think, and put her on the highroad" (220), and when asked if her husband was a lecher she said no. since this went against John's truth of the affair he
was sentenced to be hanged. Elizabeth's lie, even though she didn't mean to, as well as Abigail's lies of the affair and witchcraft both cause John to be
hanged in the end of The

We as human beings are all influenced by one thing or another in our lifetime. It's not necessarily always a bad thing, but when does it become serious
enough to cause an epidemic to our society? One such instance is through music, songs, videos, and lyrics, specifically related to the song, "I Love the
Way You lie", by Eminem Ft. Rihanna. This song has become number one on almost all pop charts and has become popularly honored by people of
our society, myself included. At first what seemed like a powerful song about tough love, was soon discovered as a parent's worst nightmare. As I'm

They costume domestic violence by using beautiful Fox and passionate love making, to turn the violence into something almost resulting from too
strong of love. Too many young men and women will find this all provocatively sexy. The video portrays the woman looking beautiful, even while
being choked; the man tortured by his rage, longing for love and peace, and believing that if only the woman would behave, then the man would
retreat to serenity (Meyers). This however is not the real perception people should be seeing, imagining, or believing. Abuse is not love in any shape
or form, but to subjective people who don't completely analyze the situation, it almost makes it look like in this case domestic violence can be tolerated
and justified. This is not the message we should be sending to people in these types of situations or to some who may be faced with them later in
life. Domestic violence is already a huge problem in today's society. This song is not to blame for all of it, but I'm sure it add's to the numbers
involved. Statistic's have suggested violence is perpetrated against women in almost half of all marriages (Domestic Violence).Statistic's gathered
from 1994 indicate domestic violence causes almost 100,000 days of hospitalization, 30,000 emergency room visits, 40,000 trips to the doctor every
year, and 50% of all homeless woman and their children are fleeing domestic violence( Domestic Violence).

Benevolent Lie Essay
A benevolent lie is when someone tells a lie, but not with the intentions of harming anyone in the process but to help the person to whom it is told.
This type of lie is better known as the harmless little white lie. After reading chapter three I have concluded that to many unconscious benevolent lies
are told at my house. Learning about this topic pointed out how often it happens without notice, for example my little girl just lost her front teeth and
asked me if she will look pretty for her school pictures. My reply was "You're going to be the most beautiful girl in the world!" Which she is beautiful
to me no matter what but not to the world. I have told her the tooth fairy is real leaving money under her pillow in exchange for each tooth she loses.
Also guilt for the story about Santa and how he gives presents when she's been good or no presents if she's been bad that year. This benevolent lie is to
benefit me I guess to threaten her when she misbehaves. Another example is my second born goes around saying she is my favorite child so, I just
agree that she is my favorite child but not to tell her sisters so their feeling won't get hurt. They're all my favorite in their own special little way not
just her. These benevolent lies just keep coming. This one my oldest daughter had a pet fish that she cared for. The fish recently died so I had to
replace it before she came home. She noticed it looked a little different and asked if I noticed anything dissimilar. I replied, "No

Analysis Of Good Lovers Lie By Clancy Martin
How would you define a healthy relationship? One filled with lies or one with an abundance of truth. In American society, each relationship has its
own opinion of what defines a loving relationship. In the essay, "Good Lovers Lie" author Clancy Martin believes that " When it comes to love, both
honesty and deception should be practiced in moderation...love is a greater good than the truth." Meaning that a relationship shouldn't be defined on
impractical expectations about the truth. Specific good lies can benefit a relationship and can help it get from one day to the next. While some believe
that lying all the time can hurt a relationship, lying for well being of love can help the relationship thrive from day to day. In American society,

Friendship, the state of being friends or friendly. Two animals you wouldn't expect to be friends actually made the best of friends. On one beautiful,
sunny day a lion named Kanesala came upon a small mouse named Vendiri. Kanesala was with her "friend" the leopard, Euondose hiding behind a
bush ready to attack. Euondose was very shallow and only cared about himself. Kanesala was only friends with Euondose so she would never get
assaulted by other animals.
Everyone in the forest knew not to mess with Euondose he sure was selfish, but he could kill anything against him. What he wanted kill now was a
tiny, defenseless mouse and Kanesala hated death, she wished for everyone to live long happy lives. "Kanesala, I always get the kill maybe you should
give it a try!" Euondose whispered to Kanesala with a devilish smile. "I don't know Euondose I feel as if I couldn't kill a fly," she said, looking at the
mouse with a frown. "Come on, you can do it you're like ten times bigger than it," Euondose said laughing and pointing to the small creature.

Dulce Et Decorum Est Thesis
(some really sick beat playing to get everyone fully pumped up)
Poetry is a very misunderstood form of writing, however one of the purest and beautiful forms of writing. It is a sense of the beautiful; portrayed by a
love of beauty and expressing thus through words. It is an art, but like art it is very hard to define because it is an expression of the authors thoughts
and feelings and may take any form the author wishes.
Welcome to STCC radio station, this is your wonderful host Harrison Potts, today on this special segment of burning poetry we will be analysing the
classic poem Dulce Et Decorum Est by poet Wilfred Owen
Hypothesis:
After the analysis of Dulce Et Decorum Est it is evident that the message and values portrayed by author Wilfred Owen is still important and present
in modern society, it is directed at civilians so they can appreciate the brutal reality of war. The title 'Dulce Et Decorum' in Latin translates to 'it is
sweet and honourable, to die for one's country'. It is obvious the author is discrediting the propaganda used to arouse the misconception that glorifies
and glamorises war to the youth of todays society. Wilfred Owen resolutely eliminates the old lie that war is sweet and right to die for one's country,
when in fact it is a brutal and gruesome hardship.

What Are There Lies In A Midsummer Night's Dream
Midsummer Night's Dream
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare is a story about love. This is a story about 6 main characters that make stupid decisions and do
stupid things for love. Shakespeare shows how being in love can make people, lie/break promises, make ugly seem beautiful, and act foolishly
/recklessly.
Love makes people lie. In the beginning, Lysander tells Hermia "I hope my life ends before my loyalty to you does". Lysander breaks his promise to
Hermia when he tells Helena, "I don't love Hermia; I love Helena" (2.2.119) after Puck put the love drops in his eyes. Next, Demetrius lies to Helena
when he tells her, "My love for her was temporary. Now I love Helena forever" (2.2.172–173). Oberon, The Fairy King, put the love drops in
Demetrius's eyes because he was rejecting Helena's love. Last, Helena lies to Hermia when she tells her, "I never did anything to hurt you–except once,
when I told Demetrius that you planned to sneak off into this forest. And I only did that because I loved Demetrius so much" (3.2.307–310). Earlier in
the story Helena promised Hermia and Lysander that she would keep their secret safe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Fear Of Fear In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Every day, all around the world every human being is forced to deal with their own personal terrors in their day to day life. In William Golding's Lord
of The Flies the boys are constantly surrounded by all their fears. Fear is a powerful emotion because it is capable of making us willing to resort to any
means necessary to escape possible danger. This is shown when Jack uses fear to manipulate other children to gain power, the boys' drift further away
from their civilized nature to battle their fears and the boys' actions are controlled by by their fears which causes their view of reality to become
distorted .
Jack uses fear as a way to manipulate the other kids into following his lead because he wants to gain power. Many of the boys are afraid of the beast,
Jack, being the vindictive boy he is, realizes that he can capitalize on their fears to help him in his constant strive for dominance. According to Jack,
"We're strong – we hunt! If there's a beast, we'll hunt it down! We'll close in and beat and beat–" (Golding 100). The act of claiming that he is capable
of defeating any creature that might cross his path makes him appear to be a strong figure. The boys see this and because they are terrified of the
beast, they see someone who can protect them, ensure their safety and Jack gains their respect. Another way that Jack increased his authority with fear
is when he told the boys that Ralph was dangerous in order to convince them to kill him. Sam and Eric

The Lady 's Dressing Room By Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift's "The Lady's Dressing Room" is an archetype exploring the duality of the separation of public and private and the role each played
within the society and culture of the time. The poem describes the character of Strephon exploring a lady's dressing room and exhibits how literature
has the ability to take private matters into the public sphere, in this case, ones that are applied directly to the female sex. The question is, whether or
not Swift intended to target women in his satire for entertainment, or if he was displaying misogynistic beliefs. According to Swift, women are purely
artificial, they appear to be creatures of beauty, but underneath, exhibit vile habits and act opposite of what they appear to be in society. By portraying
a man going through a woman's dressing room, Swift is able to paint a repulsive picture of the fairer sex. The poem concludes with Strephon finding
Celia's bathroom, "And bless his ravisht Sight to see/Such Order from Confusion Sprung/Such gaudy Tulips rais'd from Dung" (141–143). Although
this poem has been interpreted as one that explores the often awkward happenings of private relations between men and women, this satire can also be
seen as an unfairly focused, misogynistic viewpoint on the female sex. Another example of Swift's derogatory themed poetry is "A Beautiful Young
Nymph Going to Bed". Both are examples of scatology poems, or verses meant to gross the reader out. Another similarity between these two poems
would be

The Significance of Doodle's Lie: I get by with a Little Help from my Friends If the words of Isabelle Norton are true and that "In a friend you find

Teleological Theory On The End Consequences
Teleological theory attempts to answer the question "what is right?" teleological theory focuses on the end consequences. Lying or being deceiving
is not being a bad person if it means to achieve a good consequence in the end of a situation. Telos in Greek means end, goal, purpose, and result. An
example of this would be if Nancy asked Chuck if her hair was pretty when it was originally blonde and then dyed to jet–black. Chuck would have to
say, "Yes honey, you look beautiful." Yes, Chuck did lie but it caused Nancy to be happy. If Chuck did tell the truth they would probably have an
argument on why Nancy's hair is not beautiful and cause even more damage. Nancy would probably go out to the salon to change her color hair
again and spend even more money. Chuck needs to lie for the greater good and tell Nancy that she is beautiful as always. Chuck knows lying is bad
and morally wrong but does so for the greater good and which causes good consequences to keep Nancy happy. If chuck told the truth, which is
considered to be morally right then Nancy would be sad. Teleological theory does not answer the question "what is right?" because unpredictable
outcomes, egotistic human nature, different opinions on good consequences are a cultural bias.
Teleological theory focuses on the end result and consequences. Nancy again wanted to do something nice for herself and get her nails done purple but
everyone knows that Nancy only looks good with pink nails; even Chuck knows that. Because

Ellen DeGeneres couldn't have said it better, "Beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It 's about knowing and accepting who you are."
Imagine yourself in a world where everyone was confident with his or her looks. How different would your life be? No need for makeup or stressing
to maintain a certain image. Just think of all the time you'd save just being confident with who you are! Statistics show that over 50% of teenage girls
are self conscious about their looks. Social Media is negatively affecting confidence in woman and distorting what true beauty really is. Apps like
Instagram and Twitter constantlylie to women about what true beauty is.
Young Women feel the need tochange themselves to cover up their own flaws and insecurities. Social media is feeding girls lies on how they should
present themselves. This is not right and needs to stop. Apple has come out with phone applications such as "Face Tune" which enables the user to
tweak and edit flaws on pictures. There are settings for whitening teeth, covering blemishes, reshaping ones body and much more. No wonder girls
suffer from so many insecurities! All Face tune does is promote changing ones flaws. Is this not an issue? Who has the right to call ones different traits

Summary Of Ray Bradbury's 'The Toynbee Convector'
Where do we as a society, get the idea that lying is bad? In one aspect this perception that lying is bad roots from the fact that lying can breed distrust.
It can breed distrust in relationships, it can be what leads a people to distrust their government; from distrust, comes disorder and all forms of chaos
that follows. Due to the fact we are a predominantly Christian nation, I also believe a healthy amount of this perceptions is rooted in the Biblical
exhortation "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." This, being the ninth commandment given to Moses by God, is commonly
interpreted as "don't lie." However, reducing God's ninth commandment down to something as rudimentary as "don't lie" distorted its true meaning. It's
more than a mere an instruction not to lie, it is an instruction against the creation of false narratives specifically with the intent to accuse or cause some
form detriment towards others. Lying itself is not evil; it is the reason behind one's lie that determines its morality. However, as a society we are afraid to
accept this because then how would it be restrained?
Ray Bradbury, one of America's greatest science–fiction writers, wrote a short story (which eventually was turned into a short film entitled) entitled the "
The Toynbee Convector." In the story a man named Craig Bennett Stiles pretended to travel 100 years into the future, "returning" with photographs and
films he faked to simulate a glorious word free from pollution and

Avoiding The Truth In The Death Of King Arthur
Avoiding the truth is a very common thing among us humans due to the judgment we make to determine if the knowledge is better kept to ourselves or
shared among others. In The Death of King Arthur, we see how most characters struggle with this same judgment. These characters tend to either lie
assuming that the truth is better kept untold or lie for their personal comfort or gain. These reasons do not necessarily mean that the characters have evil
intentions, nor do they mean they have good ones.
Right from the beginning, we see that Lancelot avoids the truth for personal comfort when he decides to leave after everyone else in order to "arrive at
the tournament completely unrecognized by friends or strangers." As we can see, he does not tell

Essay On The Way We Lie
Have you ever told a friend their outfit looks good when you really thought it was hideous? Don't feel bad about it. Liars are people we all know.
Truthfully, we have all become liars from time to time ourselves, it's just the truth. Some don't want to admit this, and will continue to lie about. Lying
doesn't necessarily define you as a bad person. In the moment, lying seems necessary and the right choice. Welie to save another's feelings from being
hurt. We lie to another to save someone else. We lie to save ourselves. We lie so we can avoid someone knowing a secret that they don't deserve
knowing. We justify our lying as it won't affect the other negatively, in the case they don't find out. We lie for reasons that show we are still good people.

You're an amazing artist, Oliver. This is one of the best drawings I have ever seen", I said while making sure to represent my pride of the painting as
I opened my eyes wider and wider. His smile now seemed endless and his cheeks burst with happiness. I couldn't help but smile right back.
However, what Oliver didn't know was that I had no idea what the drawing was. I stared down the painting, trying to figure out what the abundance of
scribbles, splashed by all the colors of the rainbow, actually was. I thought about it hard, striving to figure it out, to savor him from the pain.
"Look! I drew you with pink hair instead", Oliver declared, followed by a laugh attack. Finally, the key to it all, it was a picture of him and me. I'm
still not sure about all the squares behind us but, that's not the point.
Looking back at this, even though it wasn't a huge lie, I did it to protect my his feelings. I find it interesting how we lie, often to save other's feelings,
when in the end it can actually hurt the ones we are trying to protect. Lying doesn't characterize you as an awful person, but it can drag you down as

Zeus came out with the water nymph from the underbrush, and gave her a blue ring from his hand. Hera discovered that Zeus wasn't there, and
went down to where Echo was. She saw the ring that Zeus had worn, and cursed Echo for lying to her so she could only say the last words that had
been said to her. 5. Echo sees Narcissus and tries to talk to him, but she can only say what was said last to her. Narcissus walks away disgusted with
Echo, because she repeated what was said to her, and he didn't understand her punishment. This left Echo very sad. Echo silently prays to
Aphrodite, and says that she must disappear too along with her love because the pain is too great. 6. Aphrodite grants her wish and adds to it
because Echo wasn't selfish and didn't ask for revenge on love. Although, that didn't mean that Aphrodite could get revenge for her. She made her
love never be able to know the loving of another, but long for it. So Narcissus would love someone who could never love him back. Narcissus
looked into the water of a river finger, and the water looked like a mirror. So he thought that his reflection was a girl because the water made the hair
look longer. Narcissus thinks it's the river god's daughter and she's shy, because when he touches the water it goes away. When he touches it again, he
decides that he'll stay there until she loves him. Echo's voice followed him, and he pleads with his reflection, and of course Echo repeats it. He then

Integration Of Threat Intel And Incident Response. In Today’S
Integration of Threat Intel and Incident Response
In today's modern world of security threats, intelligence and the ability to respond to incidents are the keys to survival. As technology continues to
change and advance, we also must change our security procedure and techniques. Dina Evans from LookingGlass has a good definition of threat
intelligence, "We define threat intelligence as the combination of technical and contextual information regarding existing or emerging threats from all
available sources. It has been evaluated and analyzed for accuracy, timeliness, and relevancy, and implemented among an organization's tactical,
operational, and strategic stakeholders." (Evans, 2016). The process of threat intelligence feeds into all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The challenges arise from the fact that when using multiple sources, it can be easy to miss the connections between data points or to misunderstand the
significance of noise when reviewing the massive amount of data that must be crunched, cleansed and turned into useful intelligence.
The best way to address this issue is the use of a threat intelligence management platform. The "threat intelligence management platform" filters, gathers
and analyzes data, and then delivers it in a standard format for inclusion in a variety of security systems and appliances (Comparing). Finally, it is
important to remember that the organizations budget will play a major role in the choice of selecting threat intelligence services. The appropriate
choice is to strive for consistency when interviewing potential service providers.
Threat Kill Chain
The threat kill chain reveals the stages of a cyber attack from early reconnaissance to the goal of information exfiltration. The kill chain can also be used
as an organizational tool to help continuously improve network defense (Kill Chain). Threats must progress through seven stages of the model; the first
stage is reconnaissance. Reconnaissance occurs when the attacker does a background check on the target before attacking them. Most reconnaissance
is accomplished with the help of the Internet and social media accounts. The second stage is the weaponization phase. In this phase, the attacker creates

Vonnegut's On The Lethaliity Of Children
Essay Title(On the Lethality of Children?) Children wander a delightfully convoluted path between absurdity and perspicacity–– in an instant, a toddler
can shift from a fit of laughter over exploring its toes to a spine–shivering account of its time in utero. Having mastered the art of random segues, they
often drop their metaphorical bombshells while their victims continue on, unaware of the true depth of their dialogue. Vacillating between a skillfully
textured reality and a softly chilling fantasy, Vonnegut presents his anti–war argument in a manner so seemingly harmless that the reader is indeed
devastated upon realization of his true agenda. Thus, the themes of The Slaughterhouse 5 are infinitely more affecting than those of any equivalent...

When faced with the decision of accepting or rejecting this pernicious philosophy, one is shocked to find oneself in the role of Vonnegut's
protagonist Billy. Stumbling along a life in which he takes no active part, Billy conceives what he believes to be the truth of war, and life in general:
"Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt"(Vonnegut 156). Of course, this kernel of wisdom is shared not in words, but in a child's drawing,
furthermore drawing attention to the willfully childish ignorance that Billy and Vonnegut have chosen for the world. By superimposing the image of
an ideal of harmful naivete on his readers, Vonnegut tactfully stirs the morals of his readers in a way that no coolly composed and calculating rhetoric
could ever aspire to. Often, the world gives children far less credit than they deserve; they are the most malleable, adaptable, and observant cogs in
society. A child can speak, lie, and argue a point to exhaustion, and they can even fight wars. And start them. And die in them. Herein lies the truth of
Vonnegut's crusade against children–– war and pain work at the expense of children, stunting their growth, and that of society as a result. Everything is
beautiful, and nothing hurts, but at the cost of free will and the potential of a thousand

Stages of the Kill Chain Construction in the Movie,...
Analysis Background
The "Ocean's Eleven" movie has been chosen for the analysis in this paper mainly because of its unique storyline. Having a group of 11 people
executing an indigenous plan to steal $150 million from a vault shared by three Las Vegas' Casinos. The executed plan will be examined and mapped
into a "7 stages" kill chain construction.
In our analysis, we have adopted the "7 stages" kill chain model (Hutchins et al., 2011) to describe our mapping from an adversary engaging an attack
for a specific target and/or data. Figure 2 shows the adopted kill chain model. Kill Chain Progression
In this case, study we will discuss each stage of the kill chain model that are mapped to the story snippet and analyze how it could be disrupted or
reduced the chances of letting the adversary successfully proceed to the next kill chain stage. In our analysis, we have taken into consideration that
some stages may occur in parallel and breaking the kill chain can be mitigated at any stage or multi stages. Reconnaissance Stage
The adversary (Danny Ocean) has done a proper identification and selection of people with the relevant talents and abilities. Each of them has different
role and responsibility to execute in the mission. The team has done a thorough research to understand the layout of the casinos (designed to keep
people in, hence need to determine quickest route out), be aware about every guard, watcher and everyone with a security pass (including where they

Teamwork And Fight For The Music Industry I Knew That It...
Perseverance: 30 Seconds to Mars
When I first began working in the music industry I knew that it was a cutthroat business. From the growing competition all the way down to the tight
deadlines, I knew that a career in this field would be something that everyone has to fight for. I always admired the people in the industry who fought
for the rights of their creativity and stood up to the big name corporations that casted a shadow over this industry. One particular group of artists that
I've admired for years now because of this is the band 30 Seconds to Mars. It was through 30 Seconds to Mars that I learned to always fight for my
own creativity and fight for what I believe is truly right. After a successful worldwide tour that lasted nearly two years, the band had returned home to
Los Angeles to work out a new contract with their label Virgin Records/EMI. However, when the band began to renegotiate new terms; the company
hit 30 Seconds to Mars with a $30,000,000.00 lawsuit (Cubbins, 2012). According to Billboard reporter Ayala Ben–Yehuda (2008), the record company
decided to sue the band for not delivering three of the five albums that were established under the band's previous contract. Not only did the band face
a huge lawsuit, but the company also cut off all their financial resources until the band gave in to their demands. Instead of giving up and taking the
short end of the stick, 30 Seconds to Mars took it upon themselves to fund and build their own home studio for

How Men and Women Lie Essay
"Truth is beautiful without doubt, but so are lies":
Comparison and contrast about how men and women lie
Many critics have tried to distinguish who lies more, men or women. Considering the arguments I read there is no proof of who lies more. Both sexes
usually lie to protect themselves, to cover up for somebody else, or to stabilize their image. However, men and women lie differently reasons of lying in
different situations. Therefore, it is impossible to say who lies more, men or women.
Both men and women lie to protect themselves or others, but they do so in different ways. Some of them think that the truth will not sound good, so
they lie to their friends, family, and co–workers. Those who think that way, have something on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By reading the article "Why we do it and when it might be ok" Kathllen Kelleher said that most of men and women hate to talk about problems that
have occurred to them, so they will respond with a smile, like nothing bad happened. Furthermore, man and women may continue lying concerning the
situation they already lied about before to protect themselves.
Both man and women will also lie to cover up their brothers, sisters, nephews, bosses, best friends, and of course their loved ones, but in a
dissimilar way. I have noticed a bunch of cover up lies that best friends construct for each other including those that have to do with drugs, alcohol,
job, school, and other. The person that man would usually lie for is his boss because he/she is the one who is signing his paychecks. His boss might
ask one of his/her employees to tell other people that he/she is not in today. There might be a situation when women would have to lie to her sister
in–law about her brother going out with another girl. It might be tough to lie about that kind of issue, but if her brother is asking, she will probably
do it. Another lying subject is more likely to occur when a man has to lie to his girlfriend's or boyfriend's parents just like I did. For example, once
bunch of my friends were going camping for a weekend and my girlfriend's mother wouldn't let my girlfriend go because she is a very strict. I had to

The Necessary Lie in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness Essay
The Necessary Lie in Heart of Darkness
In his narrative, Marlow declares, "You know I hate, detest, and can't bear a lie, not because I am straighter than the rest of us, but simply because it
appalls me. There is a taint of death, a flavour of mortality in lies, – which is exactly what I hate and detest in the world – what I want to forget"
(Longman 2210). In spite of these strong words, he lies to Kurtz's "Intended" when he visits her and tells her, "The last word he pronounced was –
your name" (Longman 2246). Marlow's words, spoken in Part I to the audience, seem to contradict his words spoken in Part III to the Intended. Upon
closer examination however, it is clear that it was keeping to his beliefs that caused Marlow to lie to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some confounded fact we men have been living contentedly with ever since the day of creation would start up and knock the whole thing over"
(Longman 2199). It is clear from this statement that Marlow believes women simply cannot handle the cold hard reality of the world. Men, however,
are well aware of these realities and therefore must protect women from the truth so as not to shatter the beauty of a woman's world. This is by today's
standards silly and chauvinistic, but at the time it was a kind and chivalrous thought. Although Marlow was making direct reference to his Aunt in this
passage, he does not limit the thought to his Aunt only, but uses the term 'women', which encompasses all women.
He carries this kind and chivalrous thought with him when he visits Kurtz's Intended, and with it in mind cannot bring himself to shatter her
beautiful fantasy world by telling her the truth of Kurtz's last words. In his own declaration Marlow claims there is a taint of death in lies. If he had
been completely truthful with the Intended and told her Kurtz's actual last words, "The horror, the horror" (Longman 2240), he would have given her
more than a taint of death. He would have shared with her some of the mental images his imagination had spawned since he heard those final words.
He would have given her a 'flavour of mortality', which he claims to hate and detest in the world. Hate and detest are very powerful words which would

An Report On An Industrial Control System
An industrial control system (ICS) includes the devices and systems that are used to manage industrial production and operation. ICSs include
systems that monitor different types of utilities, such as gas, electrical, water, and sewage (Chapple & Seidl, 2015, p. 243). The ICSs are an
attractive target for an APT because damaging or destroying an ICS can have a crippling effect on a wide region. To counteract the malicious goal of
the enemy and protect its resources and weapons, the military often utilizes a Kill Chain, sometimes referred to as a kinetic Kill Chain. The concept of
a Kill Chain is best described as a series of steps that involves finding a target, tracking it, and eventually attacking it with the intent to either damage or

He can do it by looking for publicly available information on the Internet." (p. 1). The APT probably used Active Reconnaissance to gather information
about the computers connected to the power plant network. It amassed useful information by using common Internet tools and services. By using port
scans, the APT was able to discover the ports that were opened on the servers, which subsequently revealed the services that were running on the
servers. At that point, the APT could have attacked the vulnerable ports to gain access to thecomputer systems.
The APT also might have taken advantage of the Passive Reconnaissance techniques to attack its target. By using tools, such as NSLOOKUP,
TRACERT and WHOIS database, the APT could have gathered information about the domain names, computer names, IP addresses, DNS resource
records, host names, SMTP servers, and Web servers. Once the APT had gathered all the data, it could have used more advance tools like NMAP.
Tools such as NMAP allow the use of TCP fingerprinting, which could have led to the discovery of the operating systems that were running on
computers at the power plant. The APT could have also used TELNET, FTP and HTTP to gain information about the Web servers, browsers, plugins,
etc. With information on operating systems, open vulnerable ports, and the services at its disposal, the APT could have launched a DDoS, buffer
overflow exploits, and other attacks against the target.

The Importance Of Being Earnest Analysis
John Galsworthy's The Man of Property and Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest epitomize the culture of gender, marriage, and social
class in the 19th century. The stereotypes include the power and expectation differences between men and women, marriage for the purpose of
gaining, and a strong class separation where the higher class looks down upon the lower classes. Society expected propriety of women in the way to
act, dress, and present themselves. The goal: marry a good husband and hopefully move up a class from the marriage. A key for women was to look the
best they could, dress the as beautiful as possible to attract suitors. In The Importance of Being Earnest, one of the main characters, Algernon said this

brother so that he can leave the city for the country, and if he tell his lady, Gwendolen, about the lie. Jack does not want to do so, but in the end,
the secret comes out. Wilde and Galsworthy both write about marriage, one of the main themes in each story. Marriage in this time mirrored a
business deal in that both partie should benefit, whether it money or social standing. Algernon firmly believes in this concept: "I thought you had
come up for pleasure?...I call that business" (Wilde 3). In the beginning of the story, Jack arrives in town with the intent to propose to Gwendolen.
Algernon sees marriage as s union absent of love; love is not required for a marriage. Jack is successful and Gwendolen is beauty, and according to
Algernon nothing else is needed. Moreover, in The Man of Property, the narrator hits the nail on the head: "Most people would consider such a
marriage as that of Soames and Irene quite fairly successful; he had money, she had beauty..." (Galsworthy 175). A marriage's success depending on the
service provided to the other person, not love or any other emotional connection between the partners. They could hate each other, but if they had
money and beauty, society considered the marriage a success. Soames and

Harold Krebs In Soldier's Home By Ernest Hemingway
In "Soldier's Home," by Ernest Hemingway, a man named Harold Krebs has just returned home from World War 1. This journey leads to the
unraveling of an inner conflict. These changes occurred within the character, as well as family and surrounding people. The character in the book
struggles with society's perceived norms; and his newfound distortion of reality. The beginning of Hemingway's story paints a picture of the main
character as you typical, young, Midwestern collegiate man. His life was seemingly put together. He fit into societies norms, as he was pictured with
"his fraternity brothers, all of them wearing exactly the same height and style collar." This imagery was contrasted to another picture taken at one point
during the two years he spent over seas. However, the author starts out describing the second picture something that could be portrayed as beautiful.

elaborately describes all the positive attributes about woman in one paragraph, only to follow up with negativity. "Vaguely he wanted a girl but he
did not want to have to work to get her. He would have liked to have a girl but he did not want to have to spend a long time getting her." All the

Romeo And Juliet By William Shakespeare Analysis

  • 1. Romeo And Juliet By William Shakespeare Analysis Death means the ending of life. Death could also be a beautiful or tragic scene of the ending of life. The after life can be a tragic or a beautiful place. These views on death can be expressed with written literature including poems. "Cremation of Sam Mcgee" by Robert Service, Prologue to Romeo and Juliet, by William shakespeare, and "Annabelle Lee" By Edgar Allen Poe all have something in commo:death can be either beautiful or tragic. "The Cremation of Sam Mcgee' can show readers that death can be very tragic. Much like the first poem Prologue to Romeo and Juliet shows that death can also be very tragic. Contradicting these poems "Annabel Lee' shoes that death can be a very beautiful event. The three poems can show the reader that death can leave a hole in your heart or can can make your heart even bigger and happier. In the Poem "Cremation of Sam Mcgee" written by Robert Service, we learn that the poem conveys the message that Death is tragic. In the poem Prologue to Romeo and Juliet by William shakespeare we learn that death is very tragic. The children are going to have to die in order to "Doth with their death bury their parents ... Meter enhances this line in the poem by contradicting the message with something positive with "A wind blew out of a cloud by night/chilling my beautiful Annabel Lee." This quote proves the topic with the words chilling and killing my Annabel Lee. These words mean that the author does love her and still thinks that she is beautiful even after she has died. Meter enhances the poem by making something that is very tragic sound less tragic. The last quote has imagery in it so it helps it by "Can ever dissever my soul from the soul/ Of the beautiful Annabel Lee." This quote shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Statement For The Politics Of Plato 's Kallipolis First Term Essay Assignment: The absence of reason is where persuasion is most powerful Question: The analogy Socrates and his companions make between the just city and the just person falls apart on close inspection. The commoners and auxiliaries are persuaded by the myth of the metals that the guardians are best suited to rule, but it 's nonsensical to believe that spirit and appetite can be persuaded of anything. After all, they are merely constituent parts of the soul (the parts lacking a deliberative capacity). Only a fully formed human being with a capacity for reason can understand the Noble Lie and be persuaded by it." Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Defend your position through a close reading of the text. Be sure to explore the implications of the statement for the politics of Plato 's kallipolis. Nicole Kiselyov 212808218 Prof S. Newman AS/POLS 2900B Perspectives on Politics TA: Michael Molavi Word Count: 2201 November 11th 2014 Like a castle of cards, once the bottom row falls the rest will soon follow. In the search for justice in the Republic, an analogy is formed but quickly falls apart under pressure. Its basis being made by hypothetical assumptions foreshadows its unviability and portrays many inconsistencies. Through the comparison of the Allegory of the Cave and the Noble lie, the commonly shared notion that appetite and spirit cannot be persuaded is shattered. Individuals can be persuaded by the myth of the metals because even in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Short Story Essay : The Story Of My Life The Story of My Life "They judge me like a picture book, by the colors like they forgot to read"–Lana del rey. Proving that people tend to judge without allowing themselves to give me a chance. They always go with what their eyes tell, but they should know that I'm more than what I appear to be. My way of being deals many with my likes and dislikes and thanks to that, it has turned me into who I am obviously. It is those little occasions in life that have helped me see things from a different perspective , you know, see the world in a unique way. There are so many things I like, of course I cannot name them all because I probably don't even know them yet, but just like there's things Id die for, there's also things I really wouldn't. For example, I hate lies. I hate being lied to and the feeling you get after realizing someone has lied to you. I hate feeling betrayed honestly. I feel like the worst thing a person can do to me is lie, especially when it's a person I know from long ago. I ask myself, why do people lie? What do they get out of a lie anyway? Yes , thetruth hurts sometimes and that stinks, but a person who tells the truth is more respected and more trustworthy than a person who lies. Most of the people prefer a beautiful lie over the ugly truth and that is just not right because lies are just empty words without meaning, full of fake hope and happiness and even though they are full of such beautiful things, it is still a lie, and sadly it is all fake. ... • 7. Stereotypes On The Internet, TV, And Magazines Whenever we go on the internet or look in magazines we see these beautiful people and most men and women aspire to look just like them. But again it's all but one big lie. What we see on the internet, TV, and magazines is the work of Photoshop, makeup, filters, and much more. Those people are not real, they do not look like that once they wake up, and it's nothing but a lie. Yet people still believe that it's real since the camera never lies. Day after day I see girls and women, boys and men hating themselves all because from an image that is not real, an image that has been made by the computer. On Instagram, there was a trend going around where girls and women would try to get "thigh gaps" which are exactly what they sound like, a gap in–between their thighs. To achieve these "thigh gaps" some women and girls would go on diets or some would just stop eating to lose weight just so they can be a part of the trend. The sad thing is that this trend was started with a few pictures of celebrates that were made by the computer. Not once did they stop to question it. Not once did they stop to think. ... • 8. Similarities Between Abigail And Elizabeth In The Crucible Abigail and Elizabeth In today's society, many women are stereotyped as people who would do anything for a man that they love. This topic is seen a lot in modern literature. Some women are generally described as weak people who cannot live without a man, and would do anything for love. Other women, though, are described as lecherous women who will do anything in their power to act on their strong feelings of desire. In The Crucible, Arthur Miller shows both kinds of women through Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor. Abigail and Elizabeth are seen as complete opposites through characterization, but they are strongly motivated by the same man, and in the end they both contribute to his death. Arthur Miller describes Abigail Williams and Elizabeth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the beginning of the play, Abigail started lying to protect herself from being charged for witchcraft. She also had to lie to cover up her affair with John, but when other people in Salem started to turn on John she would not tell the truth to help save him. When John Proctor is in court, he revels Abigail's motivations and tells and tells judge Danforth about their affair. Abigail, selfishly knowing that the truth would contribute to her downfall, screams to the court "Mr. Danforth, he [Proctor] is lying!"(202) here, Abigail is lying and causes Proctor to be put in jail. Similarly, Elizabeth's lie also leads to Proctors downfall. Elizabeth was a very honest person, but to save her husband's life she told a very significant lie. Not knowing she was being questioned to prove John's honesty, she tells the court "I think he [John] fancied her [Abigail]. And one night I lost my wits, I think, and put her on the highroad" (220), and when asked if her husband was a lecher she said no. since this went against John's truth of the affair he was sentenced to be hanged. • 9. Rhetorical Analysis on Eminem and Rihannas, "I Love the... I Love the Way you Deceive Me Kelsey Kendig We as human beings are all influenced by one thing or another in our lifetime. It's not necessarily always a bad thing, but when does it become serious enough to cause an epidemic to our society? One such instance is through music, songs, videos, and lyrics, specifically related to the song, "I Love the Way You lie", by Eminem Ft. Rihanna. This song has become number one on almost all pop charts and has become popularly honored by people of our society, myself included. At first what seemed like a powerful song about tough love, was soon discovered as a parent's worst nightmare. They costume domestic violence by using beautiful Fox and passionate love making, to turn the violence into something almost resulting from too strong of love. Too many young men and women will find this all provocatively sexy. The video portrays the woman looking beautiful, even while being choked; the man tortured by his rage, longing for love and peace, and believing that if only the woman would behave, then the man would retreat to serenity (Meyers). This however is not the real perception people should be seeing, imagining, or believing. Abuse is not love in any shape or form, but to subjective people who don't completely analyze the situation, it almost makes it look like in this case domestic violence can be tolerated and justified. This is not the message we should be sending to people in these types of situations or to some who may be faced with them later in life. Domestic violence is already a huge problem in today's society. This song is not to blame for all of it, but I'm sure it add's to the numbers involved. Statistic's have suggested violence is perpetrated against women in almost half of all marriages (Domestic Violence).Statistic's gathered from 1994 indicate domestic violence causes almost 100,000 days of hospitalization, 30,000 emergency room visits, 40,000 trips to the doctor every year, and 50% of all homeless woman and their children are fleeing domestic violence( Domestic Violence). ... • 10. Benevolent Lie Essay A benevolent lie is when someone tells a lie, but not with the intentions of harming anyone in the process but to help the person to whom it is told. This type of lie is better known as the harmless little white lie. After reading chapter three I have concluded that to many unconscious benevolent lies are told at my house. Learning about this topic pointed out how often it happens without notice, for example my little girl just lost her front teeth and asked me if she will look pretty for her school pictures. My reply was "You're going to be the most beautiful girl in the world!" Which she is beautiful to me no matter what but not to the world. I have told her the tooth fairy is real leaving money under her pillow in exchange for each tooth she loses. Also guilt for the story about Santa and how he gives presents when she's been good or no presents if she's been bad that year. This benevolent lie is to benefit me I guess to threaten her when she misbehaves. Another example is my second born goes around saying she is my favorite child so, I just agree that she is my favorite child but not to tell her sisters so their feeling won't get hurt. They're all my favorite in their own special little way not just her. These benevolent lies just keep coming. This one my oldest daughter had a pet fish that she cared for. The fish recently died so I had to replace it before she came home. She noticed it looked a little different and asked if I noticed anything dissimilar. I replied, "No ... In American society, each relationship has its own opinion of what defines a loving relationship. In the essay, "Good Lovers Lie" author Clancy Martin believes that " When it comes to love, both honesty and deception should be practiced in moderation...love is a greater good than the truth." Meaning that a relationship shouldn't be defined on impractical expectations about the truth. Specific good lies can benefit a relationship and can help it get from one day to the next. While some believe that lying all the time can hurt a relationship, lying for well being of love can help the relationship thrive from day to day. In American society, ... On one beautiful, sunny day a lion named Kanesala came upon a small mouse named Vendiri. Kanesala was with her "friend" the leopard, Euondose hiding behind a bush ready to attack. Euondose was very shallow and only cared about himself. Kanesala was only friends with Euondose so she would never get assaulted by other animals. Everyone in the forest knew not to mess with Euondose he sure was selfish, but he could kill anything against him. What he wanted kill now was a tiny, defenseless mouse and Kanesala hated death, she wished for everyone to live long happy lives. "Kanesala, I always get the kill maybe you should give it a try!" Euondose whispered to Kanesala with a devilish smile. "I don't know Euondose I feel as if I couldn't kill a fly," she said, looking at the mouse with a frown. "Come on, you can do it you're like ten times bigger than it," Euondose said laughing and pointing to the small creature. Kanesala knew she could kill the mouse, it's just that she didn't want to. Dulce Et Decorum Est Thesis (some really sick beat playing to get everyone fully pumped up) Poetry is a very misunderstood form of writing, however one of the purest and beautiful forms of writing. It is a sense of the beautiful; portrayed by a love of beauty and expressing thus through words. It is an art, but like art it is very hard to define because it is an expression of the authors thoughts and feelings and may take any form the author wishes. Welcome to STCC radio station, this is your wonderful host Harrison Potts, today on this special segment of burning poetry we will be analysing the classic poem Dulce Et Decorum Est by poet Wilfred Owen Hypothesis: After the analysis of Dulce Et Decorum Est it is evident that the message and values portrayed by author Wilfred Owen is still important and present in modern society, it is directed at civilians so they can appreciate the brutal reality of war. The title 'Dulce Et Decorum' in Latin translates to 'it is sweet and honourable, to die for one's country'. It is obvious the author is discrediting the propaganda used to arouse the misconception that glorifies and glamorises war to the youth of todays society. Wilfred Owen resolutely eliminates the old lie that war is sweet and right to die for one's country, when in fact it is a brutal and gruesome hardship. Theme: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. What Are There Lies In A Midsummer Night's Dream Midsummer Night's Dream A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare is a story about love. This is a story about 6 main characters that make stupid decisions and do stupid things for love. Shakespeare shows how being in love can make people, lie/break promises, make ugly seem beautiful, and act foolishly /recklessly. Love makes people lie. In the beginning, Lysander tells Hermia "I hope my life ends before my loyalty to you does". Lysander breaks his promise to Hermia when he tells Helena, "I don't love Hermia; I love Helena" (2.2.119) after Puck put the love drops in his eyes. Next, Demetrius lies to Helena when he tells her, "My love for her was temporary. Now I love Helena forever" (2.2.172–173). Oberon, The Fairy King, put the love drops in Demetrius's eyes because he was rejecting Helena's love. Last, Helena lies to Hermia when she tells her, "I never did anything to hurt you–except once, when I told Demetrius that you planned to sneak off into this forest. And I only did that because I loved Demetrius so much" (3.2.307–310). Earlier in the story Helena promised Hermia and Lysander that she would keep their secret safe. ... • 16. The Fear Of Fear In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding Every day, all around the world every human being is forced to deal with their own personal terrors in their day to day life. In William Golding's Lord of The Flies the boys are constantly surrounded by all their fears. Fear is a powerful emotion because it is capable of making us willing to resort to any means necessary to escape possible danger. This is shown when Jack uses fear to manipulate other children to gain power, the boys' drift further away from their civilized nature to battle their fears and the boys' actions are controlled by by their fears which causes their view of reality to become distorted . Jack uses fear as a way to manipulate the other kids into following his lead because he wants to gain power. Many of the boys are afraid of the beast, Jack, being the vindictive boy he is, realizes that he can capitalize on their fears to help him in his constant strive for dominance. According to Jack, "We're strong – we hunt! If there's a beast, we'll hunt it down! We'll close in and beat and beat–" (Golding 100). The act of claiming that he is capable of defeating any creature that might cross his path makes him appear to be a strong figure. The boys see this and because they are terrified of the beast, they see someone who can protect them, ensure their safety and Jack gains their respect. Another way that Jack increased his authority with fear is when he told the boys that Ralph was dangerous in order to convince them to kill him. Sam and Eric ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Lady 's Dressing Room By Jonathan Swift Jonathan Swift's "The Lady's Dressing Room" is an archetype exploring the duality of the separation of public and private and the role each played within the society and culture of the time. The poem describes the character of Strephon exploring a lady's dressing room and exhibits how literature has the ability to take private matters into the public sphere, in this case, ones that are applied directly to the female sex. The question is, whether or not Swift intended to target women in his satire for entertainment, or if he was displaying misogynistic beliefs. According to Swift, women are purely artificial, they appear to be creatures of beauty, but underneath, exhibit vile habits and act opposite of what they appear to be in society. By portraying a man going through a woman's dressing room, Swift is able to paint a repulsive picture of the fairer sex. The poem concludes with Strephon finding Celia's bathroom, "And bless his ravisht Sight to see/Such Order from Confusion Sprung/Such gaudy Tulips rais'd from Dung" (141–143). Although this poem has been interpreted as one that explores the often awkward happenings of private relations between men and women, this satire can also be seen as an unfairly focused, misogynistic viewpoint on the female sex. Another example of Swift's derogatory themed poetry is "A Beautiful Young Nymph Going to Bed". Both are examples of scatology poems, or verses meant to gross the reader out. Another similarity between these two poems would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Doodle's Lie In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst The Significance of Doodle's Lie: I get by with a Little Help from my Friends If the words of Isabelle Norton are true and that "In a friend you find a second self," then the character of Doodle in James Hurst's short story "The Scarlet Ibis" uses his lie of an imaginary friend, Peter, to find comfort in his "second self." Trying to cope with being less than perfect, Doodle, like many young children, creates an imaginary but psychologically–fulfilling friend whose significance is about providing Doodle with limitless ability and limitless protection. According to Kimberley Eckert, a registered psychologist in Calgary, "An imaginary friend can also be used as a form of self–soothing" (3) so it is not surprising that Doodle would create this image to help him feel safe and protected in a world that must otherwise feel like a "vortex." • 19. Teleological Theory On The End Consequences Teleological theory attempts to answer the question "what is right?" teleological theory focuses on the end consequences. Lying or being deceiving is not being a bad person if it means to achieve a good consequence in the end of a situation. Telos in Greek means end, goal, purpose, and result. An example of this would be if Nancy asked Chuck if her hair was pretty when it was originally blonde and then dyed to jet–black. Chuck would have to say, "Yes honey, you look beautiful." Yes, Chuck did lie but it caused Nancy to be happy. If Chuck did tell the truth they would probably have an argument on why Nancy's hair is not beautiful and cause even more damage. Nancy would probably go out to the salon to change her color hair again and spend even more money. Chuck needs to lie for the greater good and tell Nancy that she is beautiful as always. Chuck knows lying is bad and morally wrong but does so for the greater good and which causes good consequences to keep Nancy happy. If chuck told the truth, which is considered to be morally right then Nancy would be sad. Teleological theory does not answer the question "what is right?" because unpredictable outcomes, egotistic human nature, different opinions on good consequences are a cultural bias. Teleological theory focuses on the end result and consequences. Nancy again wanted to do something nice for herself and get her nails done purple but everyone knows that Nancy only looks good with pink nails; even Chuck knows that. Because ... Just think of all the time you'd save just being confident with who you are! Statistics show that over 50% of teenage girls are self conscious about their looks. Social Media is negatively affecting confidence in woman and distorting what true beauty really is. Apps like Instagram and Twitter constantlylie to women about what true beauty is. Young Women feel the need tochange themselves to cover up their own flaws and insecurities. Social media is feeding girls lies on how they should present themselves. This is not right and needs to stop. Apple has come out with phone applications such as "Face Tune" which enables the user to tweak and edit flaws on pictures. There are settings for whitening teeth, covering blemishes, reshaping ones body and much more. No wonder girls suffer from so many insecurities! All Face tune does is promote changing ones flaws. Is this not an issue? Who has the right to call ones different traits a flaw? After all, aren't the things that make us different what make us unique? • 21. Summary Of Ray Bradbury's 'The Toynbee Convector' Where do we as a society, get the idea that lying is bad? In one aspect this perception that lying is bad roots from the fact that lying can breed distrust. It can breed distrust in relationships, it can be what leads a people to distrust their government; from distrust, comes disorder and all forms of chaos that follows. Due to the fact we are a predominantly Christian nation, I also believe a healthy amount of this perceptions is rooted in the Biblical exhortation "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." This, being the ninth commandment given to Moses by God, is commonly interpreted as "don't lie." However, reducing God's ninth commandment down to something as rudimentary as "don't lie" distorted its true meaning. It's more than a mere an instruction not to lie, it is an instruction against the creation of false narratives specifically with the intent to accuse or cause some form detriment towards others. Lying itself is not evil; it is the reason behind one's lie that determines its morality. However, as a society we are afraid to accept this because then how would it be restrained? Ray Bradbury, one of America's greatest science–fiction writers, wrote a short story (which eventually was turned into a short film entitled) entitled the " The Toynbee Convector." In the story a man named Craig Bennett Stiles pretended to travel 100 years into the future, "returning" with photographs and films he faked to simulate a glorious word free from pollution and ... The "threat intelligence management platform" filters, gathers and analyzes data, and then delivers it in a standard format for inclusion in a variety of security systems and appliances (Comparing). Both man and women will also lie to cover up their brothers, sisters, nephews, bosses, best friends, and of course their loved ones, but in a dissimilar way. I have noticed a bunch of cover up lies that best friends construct for each other including those that have to do with drugs, alcohol, job, school, and other. In spite of these strong words, he lies to Kurtz's "Intended" when he visits her and tells her, "The last word he pronounced was – your name" (Longman 2246). Marlow's words, spoken in Part I to the audience, seem to contradict his words spoken in Part III to the Intended. Upon closer examination however, it is clear that it was keeping to his beliefs that caused Marlow to lie to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some confounded fact we men have been living contentedly with ever since the day of creation would start up and knock the whole thing over" (Longman 2199). It is clear from this statement that Marlow believes women simply cannot handle the cold hard reality of the world. Men, however, are well aware of these realities and therefore must protect women from the truth so as not to shatter the beauty of a woman's world. This is by today's standards silly and chauvinistic, but at the time it was a kind and chivalrous thought. Although Marlow was making direct reference to his Aunt in this passage, he does not limit the thought to his Aunt only, but uses the term 'women', which encompasses all women. He carries this kind and chivalrous thought with him when he visits Kurtz's Intended, and with it in mind cannot bring himself to shatter her beautiful fantasy world by telling her the truth of Kurtz's last words. In his own declaration Marlow claims there is a taint of death in lies. If he had been completely truthful with the Intended and told her Kurtz's actual last words, "The horror, the horror" (Longman 2240), he would have given her more than a taint of death. He would have shared with her some of the mental images his imagination had spawned since he heard those final words. He would have given her a 'flavour of mortality', which he claims to hate and detest in the world. Hate and detest are very powerful words which would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. An Report On An Industrial Control System An industrial control system (ICS) includes the devices and systems that are used to manage industrial production and operation. ICSs include systems that monitor different types of utilities, such as gas, electrical, water, and sewage (Chapple & Seidl, 2015, p. 243). The ICSs are an attractive target for an APT because damaging or destroying an ICS can have a crippling effect on a wide region. To counteract the malicious goal of the enemy and protect its resources and weapons, the military often utilizes a Kill Chain, sometimes referred to as a kinetic Kill Chain. The concept of a Kill Chain is best described as a series of steps that involves finding a target, tracking it, and eventually attacking it with the intent to either damage or ... The APT probably used Active Reconnaissance to gather information about the computers connected to the power plant network. It amassed useful information by using common Internet tools and services. By using port scans, the APT was able to discover the ports that were opened on the servers, which subsequently revealed the services that were running on the servers. At that point, the APT could have attacked the vulnerable ports to gain access to thecomputer systems. The APT also might have taken advantage of the Passive Reconnaissance techniques to attack its target. By using tools, such as NSLOOKUP, TRACERT and WHOIS database, the APT could have gathered information about the domain names, computer names, IP addresses, DNS resource records, host names, SMTP servers, and Web servers. Once the APT had gathered all the data, it could have used more advance tools like NMAP. Tools such as NMAP allow the use of TCP fingerprinting, which could have led to the discovery of the operating systems that were running on computers at the power plant. The APT could have also used TELNET, FTP and HTTP to gain information about the Web servers, browsers, plugins, etc. With information on operating systems, open vulnerable ports, and the services at its disposal, the APT could have launched a DDoS, buffer overflow exploits, and other attacks against the target. • 36. The Importance Of Being Earnest Analysis John Galsworthy's The Man of Property and Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest epitomize the culture of gender, marriage, and social class in the 19th century. The stereotypes include the power and expectation differences between men and women, marriage for the purpose of gaining, and a strong class separation where the higher class looks down upon the lower classes. Society expected propriety of women in the way to act, dress, and present themselves. The goal: marry a good husband and hopefully move up a class from the marriage. A key for women was to look the best they could, dress the as beautiful as possible to attract suitors. In this scene, the men discuss Jack's lie about having a brother so that he can leave the city for the country, and if he tell his lady, Gwendolen, about the lie. Jack does not want to do so, but in the end, the secret comes out. Wilde and Galsworthy both write about marriage, one of the main themes in each story. Marriage in this time mirrored a business deal in that both partie should benefit, whether it money or social standing. Algernon firmly believes in this concept: "I thought you had come up for pleasure?...I call that business" (Wilde 3). In the beginning of the story, Jack arrives in town with the intent to propose to Gwendolen. Algernon sees marriage as s union absent of love; love is not required for a marriage. Jack is successful and Gwendolen is beauty, and according to Algernon nothing else is needed. Moreover, in The Man of Property, the narrator hits the nail on the head: "Most people would consider such a marriage as that of Soames and Irene quite fairly successful; he had money, she had beauty..." (Galsworthy 175). A marriage's success depending on the service provided to the other person, not love or any other emotional connection between the partners. They could hate each other, but if they had money and beauty, society considered the marriage a success. Soames and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their music of them playing the piano and violin brings harmony and beauty to this anime. Listening to the soundtrack of this anime brings good things to the ears.
