3. Plot Outline
An 8 year old girl, Dalia, is killed by suffocating in a cupboard because she was
hiding from her schizophrenic mother who just killed her father.
Another little girl, Cynthia, moves into the same house in 1940 and makes a
new ‘imaginary friend’ which is the ghost of Dalia. Cynthia and Dalia begin to
play hide and seek but Dalia traps her in the same cupboard that she died in in
1918. Dalia suffocates Cynthia because she is lonely and wants another friend
to play with that is dead, like her. Their ghosts continue to haunt the house,
together.
In present day, a new family moves in – Emma, Daniel and their 7 year old
daughter, Jessie. Dalia and Cynthia want a new friend, and they lure Jessie
upstairs to play with the china dolls. Jessie then tells her parents and they
investigate the attic, discovering newspaper articles of the other girls’ deaths.
The parents immediately want to take Jessie away from the Cynthia and Dalia
which results in a supernatural reaction. The parents continue to try and find
out what actually began the hauntings (Dalia’s china dolls that were given to
her by her mother). The parents then find and smash the china dolls, which
mean Dalia and Cynthia are consequently banished from the house...
