4. Major/Minor
Miranda is a minor character because she comes and
goes throughout the book. She is mentioned as Via’s
used to be best friend but then they become best
friends again after she gave up her part for Via in the
school play. We don’t know enough about Miranda for
her to be a major character. She’s also a minor character
because she doesn’t contribute to the plot she is just
there within the story.
5. Static/Dynamic
Miranda is a dynamic character because she goes through a
change in the story. At the beginning she was always with Via
and August and she behaved. When she went to summer camp
she hung out late, smoked, she went to the boys camp, the girls
at the camp changed her hair, clothes, and make-up. Even
though she stayed close with August and still talked to him she
wasn’t friends with Via anymore. At the end of the book Via and
Miranda made up and she started acting more like herself and
not somebody she used to be.
6. Round/Flat
Miranda is most likely a flat character because we
do not know to much about her. The author gives
us some details about what she looks like and
what her life is like but we don’t know as much
abut her as the main characters. She isn’t in the
story enough for us to know everything about
her.
