Attending School As An Educated Fellow Of Society
There are numerous different methods to receive an education, and become an educated fellow of
society. Attending school may guide an individual in becoming a portion of an educated society.
Moreover, individuals seeking a further education may consider attending school. In order to remain
in school the students must consider receiving respectable grades. An individual's grades reflect the
determination the student committed to every course. Furthermore, there are three simple
suggestions a college or university student needs to recognize to obtain an A or a respectable grade.
Students either may decide to dedicate the time and determination, or decided to be unsuccessful.
Most college or university students attend school to become successful. Students struggling to
remain in school or receive respectable grades are the ones who may consider embracing these
suggestions and acknowledge them. Nevertheless, these suggestions may influence grades the
students receives now, or what grades the students may obtain in future courses. Students who
decided to take this direction in their schooling may benefit in their future, or grantee students
acceptable grades. Time is not slowing down for any student, so acquiring a respectable grade the
first time taking a course is critical. Therefore, to succeed in school it is required for an individual to
attend class and remain focused on the material, but also remember to study substantially.
Acquiring unacceptable attendance

College Admissions Essay: A Career As Office Automation...
In the late 1980s, I attained my first full–time job was an Office Automation Clerk with the U.S.
Secret Service in their Personnel Division, Employee Benefits Branch. At the prime age of 17 years
old, I evenhanded graduated from high school with honors, within one week away from my 18th
birthday. During my senior year in high school, I decided it would be a good idea to at least take the
entry level clerical federal government examination. Although, I was planning to go to college full
time immediately out of high school; my parents had been separate during most of my senior year
and was in the process of a divorce. Therefore, I put a backup plan in place by considering obtaining
employment after high school, to help pay for my higher education, and if necessary have the means
to care for my basic living means; in the event my parents' college savings plan for became one of

Twelfth Night Viola Identity Essay
Through out Shakespeare's entire Twelfths Night Act there were various roles of mistaken identities.
"Shakespeare often uses mistaken identity to create confusion and tangled, love triangles. This keeps
his plays fresh and serves to add humor to the entertainment." (D, Jill) Viola is one of the main
characters of the Twelfths Night Act we can easily reduce the amorality or her decision to dress like
a young man. Her character is the center the entire plot. She seems to be the only character to truly
be authentic. She also seems to be truly in love. Viola also plays the character of Cesario. At times
she has problems keeping her identity being that she is in disguise. For Orsino and Olivia, Orsino
starts out by professing his love for Olivia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is odd because Sebastian and Viola are different in many ways. In Act three scene one Cesario
disguised as Viola encounters a conversation with Feste and she is very pleasant like with him.
When Sebastian encounters a conversation with Feste in Act four, scene one Sebastian is very
bothered with Feste and doesn't give him the same treatment. This is where people start to have
doubts about Cesario. Viola knows that Cesario is being mistaken for Sebastian. This is due to the
fact that Viola is the only one that knows she has been disguising herself as a man and the other
characters in the play do not. They believe that Cesario is actually a young man. As I stated before
the mistaken identities don't come into the play unti Viola disguised as Cesario and Sebastian start to
come into contact with the same situations as each other. Now that I have discussed who is mistaken
for whom let me now answer the question of what do these mix–ups signify? So what do these mix–
ups signify? We see what we see but it doesn't mean that we are seeing the real thing. Just like
Cesario was a young male but it was really Viola under all of that male clothing and disguise. If
Viola would have never said to everyone that she was Cesario everyone would have continued to
think Cesario was indeed a

My Senior Year Of High School
During my senior year of high school a program called Genesys Works started at my school.
Genesys Works is a non–profit organization that teaches high school seniors professionalism.
Genesys Works takes upcoming high school seniors through an eight week training program that
trains them in Information Technology (IT) or Accounting as well as ways to become a better
professional so they will be able to have an internship during their senior year of high school.
When I finished my training I had earned an internship at Transunion (TU) in Downtown, Chicago,
IL. Transunion is known as a credit bureau. While there I learned there was more to the company.
My first day there at Transunion, I walked in the building and it smelled like a professional business.
All of the employees wore black slacks or shirts, ties and button down shirts with suit jackets. I felt
really intimated because I did not know if the people I worked with were going to treat me like I was
a child or an adult. After examining the new environment I was in I was introduced to this woman
who was called my manager approached me. Her name was Jamie Feind.
When she approached me we shook hands and exchanged names, and I followed her to the
elevators. Once the sliver doors closed and the elevator started to move, we made small talk and I
had to make sure I did not talk about anything that would upset her or make her feel weird around
me. When we got to our floor the strong smell of coffee slapped me in the face

Benefits Of Getting A Job Than High Educated Employees Essay
In fall 2016, some 20.5 million students are expected to attend American colleges and universities,
constituting an increase of about 5.2 million since fall 2000. The employment rate was higher for
those with higher levels of educational attainment. For example, in 2015, the employment rate for
20– to 24–year–olds (also referred to as "young adults" in this indicator) with a bachelor 's degree or
higher was higher than the rate for young adults with some college but no bachelor 's degree (89 vs.
76 percent). As you can see from these facts above, the number of students going to universities is
dramatically increasing because employer's demand for high–educated employees climbs fast.
Although many people, who are motivated by Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, argue that experience
is more important for getting a job than your record at school, others believe that obtaining good
grades can aid you in getting more chance of getting great jobs, benefit yourself with advantages
such as scholarships and internship or prove that you are passionate with your major.
During an interview, it is clear that GPA attached in your resume is one of the most vital elements
that all employers look at. According to an article of Forbes, career services directors at four
schools–New York University, Brandeis, Rochester Institute of Technology and Purdue– all agree:
Employers do care about grades. As we can see, getting good grades is student's duty if he or she
wants to make their future. Since we

Reflecting on English Class 111 Essay
Reflecting on English 111 My experience into English 111 not only left me anxious, it became a
self–revelation. My learning capabilities were challenged because writing did not come natural and
the possibility of becoming a prominent writer were going to take a lot of time, effort and hard
work. In spite of not knowing what to expect, I entered into this new semester pumped up carrying
an "I can do this" attitude and feeling confident.
Oh boy was I scared into complete and utter silence on my first encounter with my new instructor.
The demands on us, as a student, seemed to be exceedingly high leaving no room for mistakes. On
the contrary, being that this was all pretty much new for me, I began to panic. Meanwhile as I tried

could do this. Attend college at my age and learn to write. I have to admit that when I received a
grade of B, on my paper; I was thrilled not to mention exhausted. Needless to say, I was not looking
forward to writing any more essays because there was so much work involved in receiving a passing
grade. Then all of a sudden I was faced with the next English 111 assignment, which definitely was
not going to be any easier. As in my promise to myself, I remained faithful not only to the
commitment of college but to the fact that I still believe I was worth every effort that it was going to
take to receive a passing grade of confidence which I so desired. After our first essay, we
immediately began our second, "oh my God", were my exact words that I remembered myself
saying, as I took a deep breathe. In fact, during all of this mind boggling confusion going on in my
head, I felt that this next essay was going to be more complicated. Which immediately lead me to
recall "What is Academic Writing Myth #4" when Irvin suggested that "Some got it; I don't – the

(Cheawjindakarn, Suwannatthachote, & Theeraroungchaisri, 2012, p.61). This can be accomplished
by hiring online tutors. A case study found that in order for online–course resources to be used
effectively, the CFSs that need to be considered are: human factors pertaining to the instructors; the
instructors' and students' technical competency; the instructors' and students' mindset (about
learning); the level of collaboration intrinsic in the course; and the level of perceived IT
infrastructure and technical support (Soong, Chan, Chua, & Loh, 2000, p.102). These same CFSs
align with WSE success factors. The human factors pertaining to the instructors can be found under
financial CSF. The instructors and students technical competency is important in the learning and
growth CSF. The instructors and students mindset about learning can be found in the internal

The Classroom Case Study : Ad / Hd & Twelfth Grade :...
Classroom Case Study: AD/HD & Eleventh–Grade: Language Arts 1. Characteristics For my case
study, I intend to research ADD and ADHD in eleventh–grade students in English and language arts
classes. Normally eleventh–graders are around 16 and 17 years old. As most cases of AD/HD are
diagnosed while children are young, most students in high school would have already known how to
work with their disabilities for many years. However, they might still need help from their IEP team,
which includes their teachers, family, counselor, and any other people the student wants to include.
In both eleventh and twelfth grade, the state standards in reading advance to include more analysis.

Sometimes they may have a quick temper. Students who are impulsive often act without thinking.
They can blurt out answers without being called on. They cannot wait for their turn in line. They
often interrupt others. They sometimes intrude into other people's conversations. There is also a
combined disorder that features symptoms similar to both ADD and ADHD. Students can also be
inattentive. They usually do not pay attention to detail. They often make careless mistakes. They
have trouble staying focused. They appear not to listen when spoken to because their attention is
focused elsewhere. They also have problems staying organized. 2. Academic Context According to
the Arizona Department of Education, there are several standards that students in eleventh–grade are
expected to be able to do. Students in eleventh–grade have to "cite strong and thorough textual
evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the
text" ("9–12 English Language Arts," 2013). This is important because it is a skill need in several
standardized writing tests. It shows that the student can comprehend texts to their class group. They
are also expected to "determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their
development over the course of the text" ("9–12 English Language Arts," 2013). They also have to
"determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are

Identity Is Something We Search Essay
Identity
Identity is something we search for, something we want to find out about ourselves. We want to
know what we are here for and what's our purpose. Identity is the way one sees themselves and our
identity is all we have that 's why we protect it and always are trying to make ours better than the
others. I believe college is a time where we find our identity, maybe we have an idea on what it is
going to be and sometimes it takes us many years to figure it out. In Daniel Marks experience his
identity is going to take awhile for him to find if he doesn 't change his ways. Daniels "before" was
very rough, he was in trouble a lot. He said he felt like a failure to his father's standards. He enjoys
partying very much, this has lead to him being a poor student with a GPA below a 2.0. His study
habits are very poor but he is planning on going to college. His advisor told him he would fail out if
he didn 't change his ways. After hearing all about daniel 's story I would categorize him into the
"Diffusion" area. This is because he is just simply doesn 't care, he lacks motivation and is only
doing enough to barely get by. I can avoid all of these things by sticking to the things I've been
doing and to adjust and use the strategies we have learned in U100. In Monica 's story you hear
about a lot of the things she was going through in her first semester so it 's pretty relatable. She tells
us about how her parents did not attend college, but she really wants to. She

Narrative Essay On Craig Bucker
Trying to paint a dog while Craig Tucker's shoulder is frequently bumping into your shoulder is

that Kyle needed to perfect the work for an A. I shouldn't judge Kyle for being a perfectionist.

to perfect his coffee and balance with it up the stairs. Kenny already was setting up his laptop and
the webcam. "You ready you two?" I nervously swallowed and nodded. Craig only said "Yeah."
Kenny threw me a condom. It hit my chest and fell to the floor. "You there Stan? I hope the large
isn't too big." Kenny grinned. I could only coyly laugh. I picked it up and put it in my pants pocket
knowing that it probably was too big. Craig took off his shoes and shirt like it was nothing. "Don't
be too ready to let Stan fuck your brains out." Kenny warned. "Shut the fuck up Kenny." Craig
snapped. I knew we had to hit a certain benchmark of cash before anything good could happen.
Kenny directed us to sit next to each other on my bed. He logged on while Tweek sat in the corner
and nursed his coffee. Kenny made the title of the chat 'donate two hundred to see these hotties

The Importance of Homework Essay
Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden
to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but
teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in
school.
Some people don't know exactly what homework is. Homework is defined as an out of class activity
assigned to students as an extension or elaboration of classroom work(KidSource). There are three
types of homework teachers generally give out. The first is Practice assignments, they are
assignments that reinforce newly acquired skills or knowledge(KidSource). An example of these
assignments is writing definitions down for new words ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents, students, and teachers all sometimes wonder how useful is homework? Though studies
examining the relationship between homework and school achievement have been inclusive(ERIC).
Still many teachers and researchers still agree that homework helps students achieve higher grades
in school. Schools that assigned homework frequently showed higher student achievement than
schools that assigned little homework(ERIC). This means that homework is working. Studies have
generally found that if teachers carefully plan homework, homework can be quite
helpful(KidSource). Homework has proven its effectiveness and is a very powerful factor in student
performance.
Students should only spend enough time on homework so that the subject is reinforced and not just a
waste of time. The national PTA suggest that from K–3 grades there should be no more than 20
minutes a day, for 4–6 grades there should be 20–40 minutes of homework, and from 7–12 grades
time varies do to types of subjects and number of subjects taken(KidSource). Anymore than these
recommended amount of times is seen excessive by the national PTA. Surprisingly U.S. students are
working as hard as Asians: 24% of eighth graders do more then two hour of homework compared to
Japans 28% and Germanys 17%(Brimelow108). Are we working to hard, researchers don't think so,

Graduation Speech : High School
Throughout high school, I worked a part–time job, took care of my siblings, and tried to achieve the
best grades possible. As I struggled through these troubled times, I seldom thought about college. I
just wanted to be the first in my family to graduate from high school. However, Mr. Jones, my tenth
grade biology teacher, encouraged me to consider going to college. As I began my senior year, he
called me into his office to make me aware of the application process not only for colleges but also
the various scholarship offers and grants available to me. Because of his efforts, I will be stepping
onto the campus of Old Dominion University in August 2012 after winning a scholarship. Because
my scholarship does not provide spending money and I must maintain a grade point average of 3.2,
my path over the next few months will be a balancing act as I work to save money for spending,
study to make certain I am ready for classes, and spend as much time as possible with my family
before I leave home.
Working is nothing new to me. I have had some type of a part–time job since I was fourteen years
old. I spent many summer days harvesting crops at my grandfather's farm. The work was hard, but I
learned the importance of staying focused on the task at hand. Failure to do so could have resulted in
a serious injury, as farm machinery is not forgiving. These experiences with "Pap" enabled me to

The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities
Many students at all levels of education are involved in extracurricular activities they are a core part
of the educational experience. But,are they helpful or harmful to students education. To further look
at this issue my group and I decided to reasearch this topic to find out if there was a correlation
between extracurricular activites and student success. Going into this topic our hypothesis was.If a
student participates in extracurricular activities then the student is more likely to succeed in school.
To gather data we created a survey. This survey included five questions, three strongly agree to
strongly disagree, one yes/no question, and one multiple choice question. We surveyed 44 students
both male and female students grades ninth to eleventh as we felt that in these grades students would
be most involved in extracurricular activities.
The first question on the survey was. Do you participate in extracurricular activities? Which from
the people surveyed was a unanimous yes. This was expected due to the sheer number of people
who participate in extracurricular activities as well as the variety of extracurricular activities.
Question two. How much time a day do you speand participating in extracurricular activites? For
this question in general both males and females from all the grades on average said three to four
hours which was fairly expected as three to four hours is a long amount of time but not long as the
other choice five to six hours or as short as one to two

My Best Friend
Over the last year, I have discovered that the number one rule in life is to never judge a book by its
cover. Throughout my high school career, I became close with my boyfriend's best friend, Mikey
Lucrezio. He had a rambunctious, hilarious, lively personality that could sway the mood of any
room he walked into. Mikey was a Varsity baseball player, a member of the National Honor Society,
and one of my good friends. Senior year, I was greeted every day in Biology class with him
screaming at the top of his lungs about something that made no sense and him flexing his biceps to
show us how much they have grown in the last 24 hours. I regularly attended baseball games
throughout high school and I vividly remember him rallying his team before every game and being
everyone's biggest supporter throughout times of difficulty. Things like these are the reason why you
never really know what is going on in someone's head. Even though he was often the one to cheer
up the people around him, he heavily relied on people to be there for him as well. Usually that
worked out for him, but over the course of the past summer he broke up with his girlfriend of two
years, had many falling outs with some of his other friends, and experienced newfound family
issues. Relying on other people for comfort was no longer an option.
At my high school, it's a tradition for seniors to take a trip to the beach for a week to celebrate
graduating. Our house in the Outer Bank consisted of twenty–five of our

Life Almost Straight By Mitchell Paychex Analysis
After Revisions, easily read version:
High school seniors have hundreds of thoughts buzzing and zipping through their minds on a daily
basis. Tweets, texts, Snapchats and more are constantly demanding attention. Along with these day
to day distractions, life–altering decisions lurk around every corner. The times they are brought to
life, these choices are either handled straight on or avoided until the future is determined by lack of
action. As an upcoming high school graduate, choices made now will affect life for years to come.
Moreover, it is up to us to decide whether our lives will fall apart or fall into place. This determining
choice can be referred to as "having life almost straight." We are subjected to Life Almost Straight at
the beginning of College Prep English Four to better prepare us to face decisions head–on, know
how to relate to the human condition, and back it up with textual evidence. The human condition,
according to dictionary.com, is "the positive and negative aspects of existence as a human being."
(While this quote helped strengthen my argument, it came from an unreliable source which I did not
originally site.) Essentially, the human condition is what makes us us, as Mitchell Paycheck stated.
In the texts we have looked at so far in College Prep, the deeper meaning is all it is said to be. The
harder you look and further you dig, the more literary gold will be uncovered.
The need for the arts, more specifically the need for literature, is all in

They believe that homework is ineffective even though there is research that connects better test

opposition points is that homework is stressful. Homework does create stress, but a little stress is

Joey Is A Twelfth Grade Student
Joey is a 3rd grade student. Joey is my one and only student who loudly talks out of turn and off
topic constantly. His behavior disrupts my classroom often; whether we do a subject he enjoys such
as Art. He starts off discussing art he does at home on his spare time. Also, when another student is
talking about the same subject, Joey interrupts and speaks about what his weekend plans are. An
antecedent for Joey's behavior is when I as a question in class, he answers the question by shouting
his answer without raising his hand and interrupts another student. As they try to answer the
question. After Joey shouting his answer, I walk back to his desk and verbally reprimand him about
his consequence. His consequence after every disruption will be staying in during recess and talking
about his behavior. After so many times staying during recess, I will be sending a note to his parents
explaining to them what goes on during class. If needed I would set up a parent/teacher conference,
as well with Joey. An instructional intervention that could better Joey's behavior would be to use a
sticker system. I agree with Gongola (2010), I would need to monitor Joey's behavior and progress.
If his behavior changes for the worse, I would increase the criteria before giving him incentives. I
would put a chart on the corner of his desk with it labeled "Great Behavior." Before the day ends, we
would quickly conference on how his day went. Depending if he raised his hand, spoke not so loud

My Greatest Fear In Life
My biggest fear in life is failure. I always try to prove myself to others and make sure that I can get
the task done on the first try. In life, there will always be mistakes made and that is where I am still
learning. The fear of upsetting someone because of my own optimal performance can be a positive
objective to overcome. Once I overcome that fear I have more choices to do what I want instead of
what others want me to do.
The fear of not living up to someone's expectation is a fear that most teenagers suffer especially in
high school. High school you are expected to keep certain standards. Your senior year you have to
perform your senior exit, make time to do good on the ACT and SAT, and search for a suitable
college. Parents will apply stress on their kids and not realize that it can affect their kids in a bad
way, but in the end helps in a good way. As a high school senior, I have experienced this situation
first hand.
I am afraid of not making my parents happy with my accomplishments, which means that I don't
want to disappoint them with any mishaps. I've come to the realization that I can't be perfect for
other people. It's about how much work I put in just to prove myself to them despite the outcome. In
life, you go through trial and errors and must learn from your mistakes and grow from them.
This fear has limited my ability to do what I think is right. As a person who likes to keep people

Examples Of Homosexuality In Twelfth Night

(Prior to the 21st Century) Twelfth Night is a romantic comedy written by William Shakespeare
around the early 1600's, as an entertainment for the holiday of the Twelfth Night. It is a play that

of a significant amount of deliberation in this day and age, However, Shakespeare wrote this work in

Viola, who is masked as a man, has feelings for the Duke, and unlike with Antonio and Sebastian,
the emotions are reciprocated. Throughout the play, blatant hints exist regarding Orsino's feelings
for Cesario; however, these feelings are never made clear until the final act, during Act V, when
Orsino realizes that Cesario has actually been disguised, and is Viola. He states: "Pursue him, and
entreat him to a peace. / He hath not told us of the captain yet. / When that is known, and golden
time convents, / A solemn combination shall be made / Of our dear souls. Meantime, sweet sister, /
We will not part from hence. Cesario, come/ For so you shall be while you are a man; / But when in
other habits you are seen, / Orsino's mistress, and his fancy's queen" (5.1.367–375). Due to the
swapping of genders, it is unclear of who Duke Orsino is truly attracted to, and therefore his sexual
preferences are unclear. Orsino had been drawn to Cesario during the play, but was apprehensive
about social stigma. And once he discovered that Cesario was really Viola, a female, it gave him
societal approval to be attracted to Cesario without

Mrs. Jacques Expected A Lot From Us From The Beginning Of...
Have you ever had a person in your life that just points out all the shortcomings in your work? For
me this was my 9th, 11th, 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Paula Jacques. She would assign us work
that was beyond most of our writing abilities that I myself at first thought was just to prove that we
had no idea what we were doing. Part of this was true, but the actual reason and lesson did not come
from the subject, but from the work.
Mrs. Jacques expected a lot from us from the very beginning. Now for me it was very difficult
because while all the other students were learning their basics early on in their education, my family
was busy moving around alot so I really never learned them I just got by with what I could.
Mrs.Jacques understood and where I was coming from but she in no way made it any easier on me.
Now if I wanted to come in for extra help she had no problem helping me, but I had to ask for the
help.
I'm not going to lie my first year with Mrs.Jacques was absolutely horrible. Even with her extra
help, I was struggling so much because everything that she was giving us to do was just so hard to
me. When she gave us books to read I had no problem because I understood them, but it's when she
asked us to right the certain papers that I was struggling. Why did she expect 9th to write like
college students? I thought that she was just being mean, so I just sucked it up and somehow made it
through my freshmen year with a very low B.
When I saw that I had her

Two Tough Calls Case Study
1.A. How would you describe the HR practices and beliefs of the program manager, the narrator of
this case?
For the most part, I believe the narrator had a good outlook with her HR practices and beliefs. She
understood the company did not always do the right thing, but she wanted to make sure she did the
right thing to make her a better manager. The narrator had the ability to be honest with the people,
which would help to make the department stronger. There is not need to lie to people to make them
happy. If people need additional training or development, then they should be aware of what is
expected and what they need to improve. It is better to be up front with the people, because people
that are lied to believe they are doing better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adding this step would have shown the company they did not have a full–time position available for
Phil. The company still could have used his expertise in the field, but it would have either been with
a part–time position or a contract position. The company must ensure they are bringing people on
that are able to perform the job required. It will not help the company to add people with little or no
experience. This will actually hinder the performance of the groups.
3. A. Who's to "blame" for the program manager's work difficulties with Terry – top management,
HR department, prior managers, or the program manager in this case? Discuss. The blame for the
program manager's work difficulties with Terry are a direct result of the handling of Terry by the
previous program manager. While some people would say the blame should lie on the upper
management for hiring Terry, the previous manager was the one that constantly gave Terry above
average grades on performance reviews. If the previous manager was giving Terry above average
grades on performance reviews due to upper management, then I would say it is both the previous
manager and upper management's fault. The previous manager had an obligation to ensure the
performance grades were in line with the performance of the individual. If the manager did grade
accordingly, and the upper management changed the grading, then it is

The Most Stressful Time Of A Graduate Program
Some individuals shine under stress while other individual fail at it. The most stressful time I
underwent during my undergrad was when I found out that the master's program that I wanted to
attend was asking for a higher grade point average than what I had. The business program that I
wanted to attend was asking for a minimum of 3.20 grade point average in order to be able to get
into the program. During the first two years of my education I did not take school seriously and
because of that it effected my overcall grade point average however, I found out that the master
program is only looking at the last ninety units of your undergrad. I felt relieved and quickly started
counting up my overall grade point average not taking the first two years of school. I had a 2.70
grade point average counting only the last sixty units of my undergrad work. I was really upset
because I had eight classes left (Thirty–two units) to take before graduation. I would have had to get
really high grades in the winter quarter in order to get accepted into the program. The stress was
overwhelming because I either got good grades or I would not continue my education. I worked
forty plus hours a week and attend school fulltime getting nearly perfect grades seemed an
impossible task to me. The stress of obtaining good grades during the upcoming quarter motivated
me to reach new heights that I believed I could have never reach because I did not have enough time
to focus on school. In the beginning

Twelfth Grade I Started Doing The School Musical
In eighth grade I started doing the school musical. My first musical was "High School Musical,"
where I played a skater. In practices the cast bonded as close as a family. We spent 3 months, day
and night constantly working on our production. The moment I stepped into the bright lights, I
found a love for theatre. Ninth grade came and of course I was there, playing a townsperson in, "The
Wiz." That year I grew really close to my directors and more of my classmates, as we "Eased on
down the road," to opening night. Once again the blinding lights, the cheerful audience, the music
playing through the auditorium, and standing ovation at the end was something I will never forget.
Although that cast had its fights, but so do families. The end of that year, I thought my whole world
was tumbling down. My current musical directors were giving up the position. The school did not
have a director at the time, and all I could think was, "What do I do now?" The school musical was
the only thing I looked forward to during high school. Then during class one day, "All students
interested in doing the musical this year, there will be a meeting in the auditorium at three o'clock,"
came over the system. That year we had a very unexperienced set of directors. That year was a train
wreck. The constant bickering, because of the artistic differences. That musical was, "Footloose,"
and there was a late addition to the directing cast that saved the musical and explained to the cast

Chick Fil A Descriptive Essay Example
Chick–fil–A Chronicles: The hectic life of a former employee
Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include free trips around the sun, not to mention free
oxygen. Many things aren't free to people which is why my mom prompted me to get a job. She got
tired of investing her hard–earned money on my lavish needs. My first real job was a cashier for
Chick–fil–A, in a food court at a local mall. Chick–fill–A is often merited for their service and food,
but is still considered fast–food. As much as I dreaded working in fast food, it taught a considerable
number of life lessons. Most importantly, Working at Chick–fil–A not only allowed me to
understand personal self–growth through circumstances, but to value it.
Early last summer, I was on my way to becoming a high school senior. This was one of the most
exciting transitions of my high school career. My best friend Modolyne and I always told ourselves
senior year must be epic, I mean it's our last year, right? So, this meant we were participating in all
school activities – which wasn't free. My senior year spending was well over a thousand dollars.
Together, we decided to apply to a local Chick–fil–A in hopes of getting a job. I felt anxious towards
applying, I've never been on a register before and I feared being rejected. Days past after applying
and I grew sad. The self–fulfilling prophecy of me not landing the job was slowly echoing in my
mind day after day. I woke up one gloomy morning, telling myself to forget about

Research Instrument Used For Students
Participants:
In order to perform my observation, I will gather thirty teens who are willing to take part out of the
predetermined school. Ten teens would be in the ninth grade who do not regularly text, and the other
twenty would be twelfth graders who have texted daily for the last three years. In order to establish a
well–rounded answer, I will make sure students are selected from different classrooms and different
teachers. I will also make sure the thirty teens selected have varying grade point averages to keep
the group diverse. To assure I have a rapport with the students, I will ask to sit in on several classes
before actually individually interviewing anyone.
Research Instrument Used:
Before any research even starts, I will sit in on both the ninth grade and twelfth–grade classes with
participating students seven times to become familiarized with the students and allow the students to
get comfortable with me. After the participants from each class are selected, information will be
gathered for each teen such as their name, age, grade, previous academic grades from seventh grade
until present grade, any additional test scores on English and reading skills, as well as any formal
writing assignments. Furthermore, each participant will be asked individually to fill out a
questionnaire in regards to their texting habits. They will be questioned about the details of their cell

Compare And Contrast She's The Man And Twelfth Night
Can a play written in the 1600s be turned into a modern film, yet still share important similarities?
Twelfth Night is a play written by William Shakespeare in which a female, Viola, conceals her
identity and pretends to be a male, Cesario. A modern adaptation of the play is the film She's the
Man in which Viola, a soccer player, disguises herself as her brother Sebastian. In the play, Viola
disguises herself as Cesario in order to have a place to work and for protection as it was not
acceptable to be a female traveling alone at the time. On the other hand, in the film Viola feigns that
she is Sebastian in order to play soccer for the boy's team at Illyria since the Cornwall girl's soccer
team has been cut. She's the Man is a suitable representation of Twelfth Night because in both the
film and the play Viola has to overcome obstacles, and Malvolio or Malcolm are overconfident.

In the Twelfth Night, Viola faces issues because she is female, nowadays those issues are also faced.
Sometimes women are seen as fragile individuals who have to depend on others. An example of this
is the U.S.female soccer player, Carli Lloyd, who wrote in her book, When Nobody Was Watching,
about being payed less than the U.S. male soccer team. Her complaint was that it was due to her
being a female. Shakespeare's representation of Malvolio portrays many individuals today, an
example is at Tuscarora the seniors believe they are better than the freshman, because they are in a
more advanced grade. Just like Malvolio thought he was better than the others since he held a higher
position. Even though years have passed, the same morals and ideas play a role in modern times

Personal Narrative: How I Made It To TTU
How I made it to TTU I entered the halls of White County High School a very shy girl with a fear of
speaking in front of my classmates. A teacher of mine picked on me every day doing everything a
shy kid hates: making me read aloud, write on the board, answer questions, and much more. Mr.Carr
was determined to break me out of my shell. One day, he made me go up in front of the class and
correct a sentence on the board. Something strange happened that day. I had to make the word
"Travers" show possession. I thought it was correct to add an apostrophe "s" to it because it is
singular, but, Mr.Carr told me to only add an apostrophe. I argued that I was taught you add an
apostrophe if it is plural and ends in "s," and this word was singular. ... Show more content on

'The Twelfth Day of July'
Task: Explain how Kevin and Sadie change by the end of the novel
'The Twelfth Day of July' is a book by Joan Lingard. This book is about the discord between the
Catholic and Protestant religions. It centres on the characters of Kevin McCoy, who is Catholic, and
Sadie Jackson, who is Protestant and how their friendship develops despite the religious bigotry
which affects the country they live in. The Twelfth Day of July is a celebration in Northern Ireland,
for Protestants which started in the 18th century celebrating the 'Glorious Revolution' and the

Early Dismissal Of High School Students
Another way that early dismissal of senior student would be beneficial is financially. Students have
to balance work along with school and extracurricular activities, have an even more difficult time
earning good grades, and handling responsibilities. Many students are responsible for paying for
their own clothing, shoes, car, gas, athletic fees and equipment, and in unfavorable situations, they
must help support their family. A part–time job is a great way to earn some extra income; one in four
high school students hold a steady part–time job (Coppernoll). Additionally, students might learn to
be more mature through the responsibility of having a job.

Senior year has so many responsibilities, activities, and obligations, that adding unnecessary classes
are a major misuse of senior's time. Electives are great classes that everyone should have the chance
to experience throughout high school; however, the demanding tasks that are a part of senior year
are far more important. Athletics, jobs, and extracurricular activities are important parts of high
school students lives, but they do come with added stress. To help relieve some of the stress, school
boards should consider allowing students to capitalize the hours that are not spent on requisite
classes. Between work, scholarships, sports, clubs, and school work, students have plenty to keep
them off the streets and out of trouble. Along with benefiting students in the present situation, this
would also prepare students for the upcoming college schedule. This would give seniors a glimpse
of how college life will look like, and how they would need to manage their time. If students have
all the required classes complete, they deserve the free time for which they have earned. Not only
are the senior students benefited, but also the school in its entirety. With less students in the halls,
there would be little congestion during passing periods and lunch. This would allow the whole
school to run smoother and more efficiently. Overall, releasing senior high school students would

Outliers-The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell Essay
Outliers–The Story of Success is a sociological, and psychological non–fiction book, which
discusses success, and the driving reasons behind why some people are significantly more
successful than others. Malcolm Gladwell explains this by dividing the book into two parts,
opportunity and legacy. Opportunity discusses how select people are fortunate enough to be born
between the months of January through March, and also includes the idea that those who are already
successful will have more opportunities to improve and become even more successful. The 10,000–

practiced that skill for at least 10,000 hours. In addition to the 10,000–hour rule, timing ... Show

Journalism exposed him to new people of different backgrounds and his interest in research allowed
for him to dig deeper into why things happen the way that they do. For example, his first assignment
required him to cover fashion, instead of attending a high–end fashion show he opted to write a
story about a man who sold $8 t–shirts. This shows his interest to research why certain people chose
different paths in life. Gladwell could have written about high–end fashion and the people behind it
but he chose to write about the man who sold cheap t–shirts in order to find out why he also didn't
pursue a career in high fashion. Another reason that I feel Gladwell is a credible author for Outliers
is because of his mother's occupation as a psychotherapist. There is a possibility that his mother's
findings influenced his ideas, or perhaps her occupation influenced him all together to research such
sociological and psychological topics. Essentially, the topics Gladwell covered in this book include
are, being at the right place at the right time, the 10,000–hour rule, timing, upbringing, and pursuing
a meaningful career. Although all of these have been proven by Gladwell to be a major component
of success, I do not agree with the idea of a particular upbringing will determine success. With this
idea, Malcolm also includes that

The No Child Left Behind ( Nclb ) Act Launching America 's...
In 2001, President George W. Bush signed the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act launching
America's education system into an era of standardized testing as a method of holding states and
schools accountable for student achievement. With this recent surge of high–stakes standardized
testing, teachers are held to increasingly higher expectations of quality instruction and meeting these
standards. However, schools are unprepared in achieving the goals of NCLB resulting in years of
struggle to improve student success in testing due to flaws in the traditional grading system. Current
schools and teachers lack proper grading practices that are inadequate of accurately representing
student achievement. With the increased focus on standards, it is imperative that schools begin to
implement an effective grading system so that all students and parents are provided accurate
feedback of students' abilities.
There are myriad unforeseen consequences when schools use the traditional grading system. For the
past century, traditional grading practices and policies that have contributed to much of the failure of
student achievement. The use of the traditional grading system has slowly led to the major issue of
grade inflation. Most often students' grade tend to be inflated with the help of non–academic factors
such as homework, participation and student effort. High school teachers tend include effort as part
of the grade, giving high grades to students who work in class despite whether they

Children 's Education From Preschool Up Through Twelfth Grade
According to TeacherVision, "Most teachers have discovered that parents can be very powerful
allies in any child 's education–from preschool up through twelfth grade. Keeping parents informed
and inviting them to become part of the educational process can significantly influence any
youngster 's scholastic success." (TeacherVision, n/a). When it comes to welcoming parents into my
classroom what I would like to do is have an Open House. This is a great technique for welcoming
and partnering with families before school starts. Having a open house will allow parents and the
teachers to get to know each other on a personal level. According to TeacherVision, "It 's also a
wonderful opportunity for you to actively recruit parents as partners in the education of their
children." (Teachervision, n/a). At the open house I would provide food and popcorn for a snack.
During the open house I will encourage the parents to join the PTO which is a great way to establish
and build a positive parent teacher relationship. I will also show them a PowerPoint presentation. In
the presentation I will include things such as who I am, important phone numbers, e–mails, school's

Map Analysis on Education Center in McNabs Island Essays
The main function of these maps is identifying the area that is suitable for building an education
center on McNabs Island. I divided my analysis maps into three parts which are slope and geology,
environment and cultural sites, and microclimate. For the slope and geology map, I combined the
slope, bedrock and surficial geology together because I think all of them can majorly determine and
describe the topography. Bedrock and surficial geology are the materials that are under the ground.
They might form different topography by the geological action including weathering and eroding
processes. Also, the slopes can decide whether the land is a plain or a hill. Furthermore, I think slope
and geology can risk of the environmental hazards like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

is important for people to live. For my final synthesis map, I just combined all of the information

education center would not be a skyscraper, and it might only have four or five floors' height. So, the
foundation might not touch or influence the bedrock. In addition, I add viewing location to my

some suitable to unsuitable places for the land development. Overall, there is approximately 70
percent of the land suitable for development with caution. For example, people should consider what

The Effects Of Dating Violence On Teenagers
Violence amongst teens in relationships is often talked about as being something that is far too
common in this day and age. However, when it comes to identifying the factors of where the dating
violence stems from, I don't usually see a lot being talked about. For example, where the dating
violence is taking place, which neighborhoods dating violence is most commonly happening in.
Additionally, the overall question is whether or not the environment the teenagers live in, is putting
them at a higher risk of getting into a relationship in which they fall victim or are the perpetrator of
dating violence.
What I want to find out is what is causing this, especially among high school teenagers. The
research will help figure out if the environment impacts teenagers into being the perpetrators in
relationships and victims not knowing when to get out of a relationship because the environment
they grew up in taught them that it is okay. There is evidence showing how some "consider some
abuse in relationships to be 'a sign of commitment and playful interactive style" (Buka, Jain, Molnar,
Subramanian 1742). If this is the attitude of girls, it is important to root out where these ideas are
coming from. It is very possible that communities that condition these ideas about what a healthy
relationship is through negative attitudes and ideas of what relationships should be. It has been
found that the number of women who experience dating violence, whether they are the perpetrators
or the

Attending School As An Educated Fellow Of Society

  • 1. Attending School As An Educated Fellow Of Society There are numerous different methods to receive an education, and become an educated fellow of society. Attending school may guide an individual in becoming a portion of an educated society. Moreover, individuals seeking a further education may consider attending school. In order to remain in school the students must consider receiving respectable grades. An individual's grades reflect the determination the student committed to every course. Furthermore, there are three simple suggestions a college or university student needs to recognize to obtain an A or a respectable grade. Students either may decide to dedicate the time and determination, or decided to be unsuccessful. Most college or university students attend school to become successful. Students struggling to remain in school or receive respectable grades are the ones who may consider embracing these suggestions and acknowledge them. Nevertheless, these suggestions may influence grades the students receives now, or what grades the students may obtain in future courses. Students who decided to take this direction in their schooling may benefit in their future, or grantee students acceptable grades. Time is not slowing down for any student, so acquiring a respectable grade the first time taking a course is critical. Therefore, to succeed in school it is required for an individual to attend class and remain focused on the material, but also remember to study substantially. Acquiring unacceptable attendance ... In the late 1980s, I attained my first full–time job was an Office Automation Clerk with the U.S. Secret Service in their Personnel Division, Employee Benefits Branch. At the prime age of 17 years old, I evenhanded graduated from high school with honors, within one week away from my 18th birthday. During my senior year in high school, I decided it would be a good idea to at least take the entry level clerical federal government examination. Although, I was planning to go to college full time immediately out of high school; my parents had been separate during most of my senior year and was in the process of a divorce. Therefore, I put a backup plan in place by considering obtaining employment after high school, to help pay for my higher education, and if necessary have the means to care for my basic living means; in the event my parents' college savings plan for became one of their financial battles during their divorce. • 5. Twelfth Night Viola Identity Essay Through out Shakespeare's entire Twelfths Night Act there were various roles of mistaken identities. "Shakespeare often uses mistaken identity to create confusion and tangled, love triangles. This keeps his plays fresh and serves to add humor to the entertainment." (D, Jill) Viola is one of the main characters of the Twelfths Night Act we can easily reduce the amorality or her decision to dress like a young man. Her character is the center the entire plot. She seems to be the only character to truly be authentic. She also seems to be truly in love. Viola also plays the character of Cesario. At times she has problems keeping her identity being that she is in disguise. For Orsino and Olivia, Orsino starts out by professing his love for Olivia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is odd because Sebastian and Viola are different in many ways. In Act three scene one Cesario disguised as Viola encounters a conversation with Feste and she is very pleasant like with him. When Sebastian encounters a conversation with Feste in Act four, scene one Sebastian is very bothered with Feste and doesn't give him the same treatment. This is where people start to have doubts about Cesario. Viola knows that Cesario is being mistaken for Sebastian. This is due to the fact that Viola is the only one that knows she has been disguising herself as a man and the other characters in the play do not. They believe that Cesario is actually a young man. As I stated before the mistaken identities don't come into the play unti Viola disguised as Cesario and Sebastian start to come into contact with the same situations as each other. Now that I have discussed who is mistaken for whom let me now answer the question of what do these mix–ups signify? So what do these mix– ups signify? We see what we see but it doesn't mean that we are seeing the real thing. Just like Cesario was a young male but it was really Viola under all of that male clothing and disguise. If Viola would have never said to everyone that she was Cesario everyone would have continued to think Cesario was indeed a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. My Senior Year Of High School During my senior year of high school a program called Genesys Works started at my school. Genesys Works is a non–profit organization that teaches high school seniors professionalism. Genesys Works takes upcoming high school seniors through an eight week training program that trains them in Information Technology (IT) or Accounting as well as ways to become a better professional so they will be able to have an internship during their senior year of high school. When I finished my training I had earned an internship at Transunion (TU) in Downtown, Chicago, IL. Transunion is known as a credit bureau. While there I learned there was more to the company. My first day there at Transunion, I walked in the building and it smelled like a professional business. All of the employees wore black slacks or shirts, ties and button down shirts with suit jackets. I felt really intimated because I did not know if the people I worked with were going to treat me like I was a child or an adult. After examining the new environment I was in I was introduced to this woman who was called my manager approached me. Her name was Jamie Feind. When she approached me we shook hands and exchanged names, and I followed her to the elevators. Once the sliver doors closed and the elevator started to move, we made small talk and I had to make sure I did not talk about anything that would upset her or make her feel weird around me. • 9. Benefits Of Getting A Job Than High Educated Employees Essay In fall 2016, some 20.5 million students are expected to attend American colleges and universities, constituting an increase of about 5.2 million since fall 2000. The employment rate was higher for those with higher levels of educational attainment. For example, in 2015, the employment rate for 20– to 24–year–olds (also referred to as "young adults" in this indicator) with a bachelor 's degree or higher was higher than the rate for young adults with some college but no bachelor 's degree (89 vs. 76 percent). As you can see from these facts above, the number of students going to universities is dramatically increasing because employer's demand for high–educated employees climbs fast. Although many people, who are motivated by Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, argue that experience is more important for getting a job than your record at school, others believe that obtaining good grades can aid you in getting more chance of getting great jobs, benefit yourself with advantages such as scholarships and internship or prove that you are passionate with your major. During an interview, it is clear that GPA attached in your resume is one of the most vital elements that all employers look at. According to an article of Forbes, career services directors at four schools–New York University, Brandeis, Rochester Institute of Technology and Purdue– all agree: Employers do care about grades. As we can see, getting good grades is student's duty if he or she wants to make their future. Since we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Reflecting on English Class 111 Essay Reflecting on English 111 My experience into English 111 not only left me anxious, it became a self–revelation. My learning capabilities were challenged because writing did not come natural and the possibility of becoming a prominent writer were going to take a lot of time, effort and hard work. In spite of not knowing what to expect, I entered into this new semester pumped up carrying an "I can do this" attitude and feeling confident. Oh boy was I scared into complete and utter silence on my first encounter with my new instructor. The demands on us, as a student, seemed to be exceedingly high leaving no room for mistakes. Then I began writing like never before, so to get an understanding on the inside of me that I too could do this. Attend college at my age and learn to write. I have to admit that when I received a grade of B, on my paper; I was thrilled not to mention exhausted. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to writing any more essays because there was so much work involved in receiving a passing grade. Then all of a sudden I was faced with the next English 111 assignment, which definitely was not going to be any easier. As in my promise to myself, I remained faithful not only to the commitment of college but to the fact that I still believe I was worth every effort that it was going to take to receive a passing grade of confidence which I so desired. After our first essay, we immediately began our second, "oh my God", were my exact words that I remembered myself saying, as I took a deep breathe. In fact, during all of this mind boggling confusion going on in my head, I felt that this next essay was going to be more complicated. Characteristics For my case study, I intend to research ADD and ADHD in eleventh–grade students in English and language arts classes. Normally eleventh–graders are around 16 and 17 years old. As most cases of AD/HD are diagnosed while children are young, most students in high school would have already known how to work with their disabilities for many years. However, they might still need help from their IEP team, which includes their teachers, family, counselor, and any other people the student wants to include. There is also a combined disorder that features symptoms similar to both ADD and ADHD. Students can also be inattentive. They usually do not pay attention to detail. They often make careless mistakes. They have trouble staying focused. They appear not to listen when spoken to because their attention is focused elsewhere. They also have problems staying organized. 2. Academic Context According to the Arizona Department of Education, there are several standards that students in eleventh–grade are expected to be able to do. Students in eleventh–grade have to "cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text" ("9–12 English Language Arts," 2013). This is important because it is a skill need in several standardized writing tests. It shows that the student can comprehend texts to their class group. • 17. Identity Is Something We Search Essay Identity Identity is something we search for, something we want to find out about ourselves. We want to know what we are here for and what's our purpose. Identity is the way one sees themselves and our identity is all we have that 's why we protect it and always are trying to make ours better than the others. I believe college is a time where we find our identity, maybe we have an idea on what it is going to be and sometimes it takes us many years to figure it out. In Daniel Marks experience his identity is going to take awhile for him to find if he doesn 't change his ways. Daniels "before" was very rough, he was in trouble a lot. He said he felt like a failure to his father's standards. He enjoys partying very much, this has lead to him being a poor student with a GPA below a 2.0. His study habits are very poor but he is planning on going to college. His advisor told him he would fail out if he didn 't change his ways. After hearing all about daniel 's story I would categorize him into the "Diffusion" area. This is because he is just simply doesn 't care, he lacks motivation and is only doing enough to barely get by. I can avoid all of these things by sticking to the things I've been doing and to adjust and use the strategies we have learned in U100. In Monica 's story you hear about a lot of the things she was going through in her first semester so it 's pretty relatable. • 23. The Importance of Homework Essay Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in school. Some people don't know exactly what homework is. Homework is defined as an out of class activity assigned to students as an extension or elaboration of classroom work(KidSource). Though studies examining the relationship between homework and school achievement have been inclusive(ERIC). Still many teachers and researchers still agree that homework helps students achieve higher grades in school. Schools that assigned homework frequently showed higher student achievement than schools that assigned little homework(ERIC). This means that homework is working. Studies have generally found that if teachers carefully plan homework, homework can be quite helpful(KidSource). Homework has proven its effectiveness and is a very powerful factor in student performance. Students should only spend enough time on homework so that the subject is reinforced and not just a waste of time. The national PTA suggest that from K–3 grades there should be no more than 20 minutes a day, for 4–6 grades there should be 20–40 minutes of homework, and from 7–12 grades time varies do to types of subjects and number of subjects taken(KidSource). Anymore than these recommended amount of times is seen excessive by the national PTA. Surprisingly U.S. students are working as hard as Asians: 24% of eighth graders do more then two hour of homework compared to Japans 28% and Germanys 17%(Brimelow108). • 25. Graduation Speech : High School Throughout high school, I worked a part–time job, took care of my siblings, and tried to achieve the best grades possible. As I struggled through these troubled times, I seldom thought about college. I just wanted to be the first in my family to graduate from high school. However, Mr. Jones, my tenth grade biology teacher, encouraged me to consider going to college. As I began my senior year, he called me into his office to make me aware of the application process not only for colleges but also the various scholarship offers and grants available to me. Because of his efforts, I will be stepping onto the campus of Old Dominion University in August 2012 after winning a scholarship. Because my scholarship does not provide spending money and I must maintain a grade point average of 3.2, my path over the next few months will be a balancing act as I work to save money for spending, study to make certain I am ready for classes, and spend as much time as possible with my family before I leave home. Working is nothing new to me. I have had some type of a part–time job since I was fourteen years old. I spent many summer days harvesting crops at my grandfather's farm. The work was hard, but I learned the importance of staying focused on the task at hand. Failure to do so could have resulted in a serious injury, as farm machinery is not forgiving. But,are they helpful or harmful to students education. To further look at this issue my group and I decided to reasearch this topic to find out if there was a correlation between extracurricular activites and student success. Going into this topic our hypothesis was.If a student participates in extracurricular activities then the student is more likely to succeed in school. To gather data we created a survey. This survey included five questions, three strongly agree to strongly disagree, one yes/no question, and one multiple choice question. We surveyed 44 students both male and female students grades ninth to eleventh as we felt that in these grades students would be most involved in extracurricular activities. The first question on the survey was. Do you participate in extracurricular activities? Which from the people surveyed was a unanimous yes. This was expected due to the sheer number of people who participate in extracurricular activities as well as the variety of extracurricular activities. Question two. How much time a day do you speand participating in extracurricular activites? For this question in general both males and females from all the grades on average said three to four hours which was fairly expected as three to four hours is a long amount of time but not long as the other choice five to six hours or as short as one to two ... • 29. My Best Friend Over the last year, I have discovered that the number one rule in life is to never judge a book by its cover. Throughout my high school career, I became close with my boyfriend's best friend, Mikey Lucrezio. He had a rambunctious, hilarious, lively personality that could sway the mood of any room he walked into. Mikey was a Varsity baseball player, a member of the National Honor Society, and one of my good friends. Senior year, I was greeted every day in Biology class with him screaming at the top of his lungs about something that made no sense and him flexing his biceps to show us how much they have grown in the last 24 hours. I regularly attended baseball games throughout high school and I vividly remember him rallying his team before every game and being everyone's biggest supporter throughout times of difficulty. Things like these are the reason why you never really know what is going on in someone's head. Even though he was often the one to cheer up the people around him, he heavily relied on people to be there for him as well. Usually that worked out for him, but over the course of the past summer he broke up with his girlfriend of two years, had many falling outs with some of his other friends, and experienced newfound family issues. Relying on other people for comfort was no longer an option. At my high school, it's a tradition for seniors to take a trip to the beach for a week to celebrate graduating. • 31. Life Almost Straight By Mitchell Paychex Analysis After Revisions, easily read version: High school seniors have hundreds of thoughts buzzing and zipping through their minds on a daily basis. Tweets, texts, Snapchats and more are constantly demanding attention. Along with these day to day distractions, life–altering decisions lurk around every corner. The times they are brought to life, these choices are either handled straight on or avoided until the future is determined by lack of action. As an upcoming high school graduate, choices made now will affect life for years to come. Moreover, it is up to us to decide whether our lives will fall apart or fall into place. This determining choice can be referred to as "having life almost straight." We are subjected to Life Almost Straight at the beginning of College Prep English Four to better prepare us to face decisions head–on, know how to relate to the human condition, and back it up with textual evidence. The human condition, according to dictionary.com, is "the positive and negative aspects of existence as a human being." (While this quote helped strengthen my argument, it came from an unreliable source which I did not originally site.) Essentially, the human condition is what makes us us, as Mitchell Paycheck stated. In the texts we have looked at so far in College Prep, the deeper meaning is all it is said to be. The harder you look and further you dig, the more literary gold will be uncovered. His behavior disrupts my classroom often; whether we do a subject he enjoys such as Art. He starts off discussing art he does at home on his spare time. Also, when another student is talking about the same subject, Joey interrupts and speaks about what his weekend plans are. An antecedent for Joey's behavior is when I as a question in class, he answers the question by shouting his answer without raising his hand and interrupts another student. As they try to answer the question. After Joey shouting his answer, I walk back to his desk and verbally reprimand him about his consequence. His consequence after every disruption will be staying in during recess and talking about his behavior. After so many times staying during recess, I will be sending a note to his parents explaining to them what goes on during class. If needed I would set up a parent/teacher conference, as well with Joey. An instructional intervention that could better Joey's behavior would be to use a sticker system. I agree with Gongola (2010), I would need to monitor Joey's behavior and progress. If his behavior changes for the worse, I would increase the criteria before giving him incentives. I would put a chart on the corner of his desk with it labeled "Great Behavior." Before the day ends, we would quickly conference on how his day went. In life, there will always be mistakes made and that is where I am still learning. The fear of upsetting someone because of my own optimal performance can be a positive objective to overcome. Once I overcome that fear I have more choices to do what I want instead of what others want me to do. The fear of not living up to someone's expectation is a fear that most teenagers suffer especially in high school. High school you are expected to keep certain standards. Your senior year you have to perform your senior exit, make time to do good on the ACT and SAT, and search for a suitable college. Parents will apply stress on their kids and not realize that it can affect their kids in a bad way, but in the end helps in a good way. As a high school senior, I have experienced this situation first hand. I am afraid of not making my parents happy with my accomplishments, which means that I don't want to disappoint them with any mishaps. I've come to the realization that I can't be perfect for other people. It's about how much work I put in just to prove myself to them despite the outcome. Examples Of Homosexuality In Twelfth Night Derek Korff–Korn Shakespeare Dr. Honig–12th Grade Shakespeare's Openness to Homosexuality (Prior to the 21st Century) Twelfth Night is a romantic comedy written by William Shakespeare around the early 1600's, as an entertainment for the holiday of the Twelfth Night. It is a play that discusses issues that are incredibly sensitive, even by today's standards. Homosexuality is the basis of a significant amount of deliberation in this day and age, However, Shakespeare wrote this work in the early seventeenth century, considering the topic of homosexual yearnings through humor and wit. While there is no specific evidence of Shakespeare's personal opinions on the matter, his dealing with homosexuality in this play, especially through the relationship ... Throughout the play, blatant hints exist regarding Orsino's feelings for Cesario; however, these feelings are never made clear until the final act, during Act V, when Orsino realizes that Cesario has actually been disguised, and is Viola. He states: "Pursue him, and entreat him to a peace. / He hath not told us of the captain yet. / When that is known, and golden time convents, / A solemn combination shall be made / Of our dear souls. For me this was my 9th, 11th, 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Paula Jacques. She would assign us work that was beyond most of our writing abilities that I myself at first thought was just to prove that we had no idea what we were doing. Part of this was true, but the actual reason and lesson did not come from the subject, but from the work. Mrs. Jacques expected a lot from us from the very beginning. Now for me it was very difficult because while all the other students were learning their basics early on in their education, my family was busy moving around alot so I really never learned them I just got by with what I could. Mrs.Jacques understood and where I was coming from but she in no way made it any easier on me. Now if I wanted to come in for extra help she had no problem helping me, but I had to ask for the help. I'm not going to lie my first year with Mrs.Jacques was absolutely horrible. Even with her extra help, I was struggling so much because everything that she was giving us to do was just so hard to me. When she gave us books to read I had no problem because I understood them, but it's when she asked us to right the certain papers that I was struggling. The most stressful time I underwent during my undergrad was when I found out that the master's program that I wanted to attend was asking for a higher grade point average than what I had. The business program that I wanted to attend was asking for a minimum of 3.20 grade point average in order to be able to get into the program. During the first two years of my education I did not take school seriously and because of that it effected my overcall grade point average however, I found out that the master program is only looking at the last ninety units of your undergrad. Ninth grade came and of course I was there, playing a townsperson in, "The Wiz." That year I grew really close to my directors and more of my classmates, as we "Eased on down the road," to opening night. Once again the blinding lights, the cheerful audience, the music playing through the auditorium, and standing ovation at the end was something I will never forget. Although that cast had its fights, but so do families. The end of that year, I thought my whole world was tumbling down. My current musical directors were giving up the position. The school did not have a director at the time, and all I could think was, "What do I do now?" The school musical was the only thing I looked forward to during high school. Then during class one day, "All students interested in doing the musical this year, there will be a meeting in the auditorium at three o'clock," came over the system. • 58. Compare And Contrast She's The Man And Twelfth Night Can a play written in the 1600s be turned into a modern film, yet still share important similarities? Twelfth Night is a play written by William Shakespeare in which a female, Viola, conceals her identity and pretends to be a male, Cesario. A modern adaptation of the play is the film She's the Man in which Viola, a soccer player, disguises herself as her brother Sebastian. In the play, Viola disguises herself as Cesario in order to have a place to work and for protection as it was not acceptable to be a female traveling alone at the time. On the other hand, in the film Viola feigns that she is Sebastian in order to play soccer for the boy's team at Illyria since the Cornwall girl's soccer team has been cut. She's the Man is a suitable representation of Twelfth Night because in both the film and the play Viola has to overcome obstacles, and Malvolio or Malcolm are overconfident. Several speakers had inspiring stories like a high school senior that discovered a way to gather the algae in ponds and a college graduate discovering a faster, more effective way to detect cancer. All of the speakers talked about how failure will always be a part of growth, and that people will constantly try to knock you down. When I tell people that I want to be an engineer, some people laugh at me, but that cannot stop me. I have the drive to accomplish my goals no matter how hard it may seem. Along with preparing for my career, I still want to enjoy life outside of school. One friend of mine helped me discover all the adventure that life can hold. My closest friend is my boyfriend Peyton. He changed me so much over the course of one year. At the beginning of senior year, he told me that I would be right by his side on the front row of the basketball games, and I told him he had lost his marbles and went crazy. Little did I know that I would be right there, dressed up as an elf or whatever the crazy theme of the night was, yelling at the refs and chanting for my team. He challenged me to try skiing, singing in front of Young Life, run for secretary, and many other things to make my life more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 64. Early Dismissal Of High School Students Another way that early dismissal of senior student would be beneficial is financially. Students have to balance work along with school and extracurricular activities, have an even more difficult time earning good grades, and handling responsibilities. Many students are responsible for paying for their own clothing, shoes, car, gas, athletic fees and equipment, and in unfavorable situations, they must help support their family. A part–time job is a great way to earn some extra income; one in four high school students hold a steady part–time job (Coppernoll). Additionally, students might learn to be more mature through the responsibility of having a job. Paying for college is the main idea that in on almost every high school senior student's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Senior year has so many responsibilities, activities, and obligations, that adding unnecessary classes are a major misuse of senior's time. Electives are great classes that everyone should have the chance to experience throughout high school; however, the demanding tasks that are a part of senior year are far more important. Athletics, jobs, and extracurricular activities are important parts of high school students lives, but they do come with added stress. To help relieve some of the stress, school boards should consider allowing students to capitalize the hours that are not spent on requisite classes. Between work, scholarships, sports, clubs, and school work, students have plenty to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Along with benefiting students in the present situation, this would also prepare students for the upcoming college schedule. This would give seniors a glimpse of how college life will look like, and how they would need to manage their time. If students have all the required classes complete, they deserve the free time for which they have earned. Not only are the senior students benefited, but also the school in its entirety. With less students in the halls, there would be little congestion during passing periods and lunch. This would allow the whole school to run smoother and more efficiently. Overall, releasing senior high school students would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 68. Outliers-The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell Essay Outliers–The Story of Success is a sociological, and psychological non–fiction book, which discusses success, and the driving reasons behind why some people are significantly more successful than others. Malcolm Gladwell explains this by dividing the book into two parts, opportunity and legacy. Opportunity discusses how select people are fortunate enough to be born between the months of January through March, and also includes the idea that those who are already successful will have more opportunities to improve and become even more successful. The 10,000– hour rule proves the idea that in order to become successful in a certain skill, one must have practiced that skill for at least 10,000 hours. In addition to the 10,000–hour rule, timing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Journalism exposed him to new people of different backgrounds and his interest in research allowed for him to dig deeper into why things happen the way that they do. For example, his first assignment required him to cover fashion, instead of attending a high–end fashion show he opted to write a story about a man who sold $8 t–shirts. This shows his interest to research why certain people chose different paths in life. Gladwell could have written about high–end fashion and the people behind it but he chose to write about the man who sold cheap t–shirts in order to find out why he also didn't pursue a career in high fashion. Another reason that I feel Gladwell is a credible author for Outliers is because of his mother's occupation as a psychotherapist. There is a possibility that his mother's findings influenced his ideas, or perhaps her occupation influenced him all together to research such sociological and psychological topics. Essentially, the topics Gladwell covered in this book include are, being at the right place at the right time, the 10,000–hour rule, timing, upbringing, and pursuing a meaningful career. Although all of these have been proven by Gladwell to be a major component of success, I do not agree with the idea of a particular upbringing will determine success. With this idea, Malcolm also includes that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bush signed the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act launching America's education system into an era of standardized testing as a method of holding states and schools accountable for student achievement. With this recent surge of high–stakes standardized testing, teachers are held to increasingly higher expectations of quality instruction and meeting these standards. However, schools are unprepared in achieving the goals of NCLB resulting in years of struggle to improve student success in testing due to flaws in the traditional grading system. Current schools and teachers lack proper grading practices that are inadequate of accurately representing student achievement. With the increased focus on standards, it is imperative that schools begin to implement an effective grading system so that all students and parents are provided accurate feedback of students' abilities. There are myriad unforeseen consequences when schools use the traditional grading system. For the past century, traditional grading practices and policies that have contributed to much of the failure of student achievement. The use of the traditional grading system has slowly led to the major issue of grade inflation. Most often students' grade tend to be inflated with the help of non–academic factors such as homework, participation and student effort. High school teachers tend include effort as part of the grade, giving high grades to students who work in class despite whether they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Children 's Education From Preschool Up Through Twelfth Grade According to TeacherVision, "Most teachers have discovered that parents can be very powerful allies in any child 's education–from preschool up through twelfth grade. Keeping parents informed and inviting them to become part of the educational process can significantly influence any youngster 's scholastic success." (TeacherVision, n/a). When it comes to welcoming parents into my classroom what I would like to do is have an Open House. This is a great technique for welcoming and partnering with families before school starts. Having a open house will allow parents and the teachers to get to know each other on a personal level. According to TeacherVision, "It 's also a wonderful opportunity for you to actively recruit parents as partners in the education of their children." (Teachervision, n/a). At the open house I would provide food and popcorn for a snack. During the open house I will encourage the parents to join the PTO which is a great way to establish and build a positive parent teacher relationship. I will also show them a PowerPoint presentation. In the presentation I will include things such as who I am, important phone numbers, e–mails, school's web site, classroom procedures, expectations, rules, and what will be taught during the school year. When it comes to the classroom environment I will make sure to meet the individual needs of the children in my classroom. • 76. Map Analysis on Education Center in McNabs Island Essays The main function of these maps is identifying the area that is suitable for building an education center on McNabs Island. I divided my analysis maps into three parts which are slope and geology, environment and cultural sites, and microclimate. For the slope and geology map, I combined the slope, bedrock and surficial geology together because I think all of them can majorly determine and describe the topography. Bedrock and surficial geology are the materials that are under the ground. They might form different topography by the geological action including weathering and eroding processes. Also, the slopes can decide whether the land is a plain or a hill. Furthermore, I think slope and geology can risk of the environmental hazards like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think it can be the next consideration to think about the land development because human comfort is important for people to live. For my final synthesis map, I just combined all of the information from the analysis map except the bedrock geology to show where the best place on McNabs to build the education center is. The reason that I do not add the bedrock geology because I think the education center would not be a skyscraper, and it might only have four or five floors' height. So, the foundation might not touch or influence the bedrock. In addition, I add viewing location to my synthesis map. The reason is that I think the education center is the place to educate and to visit the island. So, a good viewing location is necessary. From the synthesis map, you can see there are some suitable to unsuitable places for the land development. Overall, there is approximately 70 percent of the land suitable for development with caution. For example, people should consider what kind of slope it is like the steeper slope always has a high risk of mudslides, and what kind of surficial material it is like tills are more stable than coastal sediments. Moreover, there is over 20 percent are suitable for development. Most of them occur around the coast. The reason is the coast has unstable materials that is risky to do the construction. • 78. The Effects Of Dating Violence On Teenagers Violence amongst teens in relationships is often talked about as being something that is far too common in this day and age. However, when it comes to identifying the factors of where the dating violence stems from, I don't usually see a lot being talked about. For example, where the dating violence is taking place, which neighborhoods dating violence is most commonly happening in. Additionally, the overall question is whether or not the environment the teenagers live in, is putting them at a higher risk of getting into a relationship in which they fall victim or are the perpetrator of dating violence. What I want to find out is what is causing this, especially among high school teenagers. The research will help figure out if the environment impacts teenagers into being the perpetrators in relationships and victims not knowing when to get out of a relationship because the environment they grew up in taught them that it is okay. There is evidence showing how some "consider some abuse in relationships to be 'a sign of commitment and playful interactive style" (Buka, Jain, Molnar, Subramanian 1742). If this is the attitude of girls, it is important to root out where these ideas are coming from. It is very possible that communities that condition these ideas about what a healthy relationship is through negative attitudes and ideas of what relationships should be. It has been found that the number of women who experience dating violence, whether they are the perpetrators or the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
