Engineering from Baghdad

Controlled state media in
addition to owning a daily
and a weekly newspaper,
and a TV station.

3. As the head of the Iraqi Olympic
Committee, he imprisoned and tortured
athletes that did not perform up to his
expectations.

4. He had the soles of athletes feet caned
so that the wounds would not show
He imprisoned soccer players and
forced them to kick around a concrete
soccer ball after failing to make the
1994 World Cup

5. Hosting a party for the
wife of the King of
Egypt, his father’s valet
was having a party on a
nearby island in the
Tigris.
Uday was imprisoned
by his father for
brutally murdering
Saddam’s official food-
taster.

6. Uday was married twice, both times a
dynastic power-plays, to senior Ba’athists
Embarrassingly, both marriages were
dissolved when Uday beat his wives.
Uday’s body-double claimed that Uday
could not perform sexually if his “partner”
was not in pain and bleeding.

7. Uday’s men would leap out of their cars
as he drove by and kidnap any woman or
girl that caught his eye. The women
would be raped and killed.
Husbands and brothers who tried to
defend the women were executed for
“treason”

8. Uday formed “the Men of
Sacrifice”, a security force
dedicated to rooting out
Saddam’s real and
perceived enemies.
Under Uday’s supervision
hundreds were tortured and
executed.

9. July 22, 2003, Uday
and his brother Qusay
were surrounded in a
house in Mosul, in
northern Iraq.
After a four-hour
gunbattle, when
troops entered the
house, they found the
bodies of the two
Hussein brothers.
